Great budget WearOS smartwatch for basic use and health tracking – I was looking for a watch to help me keep track of fitness metrics for my weight loss journey and I found this TicWatch S2 for a great price on Amazon. I wanted something I could wear regardless of the weather situation or even if I was swimming and this, despite the cheap price was 5ATM water resistant and it's been in the rain and the pool plenty since I received it and is still going strong. It also has built in GPS that activates when you start tracking an exercise so I can go for a jog and don't need to bring my phone with me for tracking. Coupled with the reasonably accurate step tracking, the gps gives accurate distance and mapping of runs or walks. When it comes to exercise tracking, it also has modes for use in the gym when using machines like treadmills or bikes, also strength training. In these modes in tracks heart rate metrics and so on without using the gps, etc. It claims a 2 day battery life, but does stipulate that is depending on features activated and usage. I generally have to charge it each night as my use seems to end with it just about flat come the evening. If you're using it to track exercise and heart rate I think it's safe to say you will get a day of use before needing to be charged. Being a WearOS device there is plenty of watch faces and applications available for it. Though I haven't installed or run any extra apps because the default inclusions are just what I need. In the gym it allows basic control of Spotify on the phone and can show cover art and details of the song playing. Overall, for a reasonably low budget smartwatch I've been impressed with it's functionality and capability. My only real complaint is more about Amazon than the device itself as I had ordered black and was sent a white one. And yes, I could have returned it and got a black one sent out, but it does what I need it to so it wasn't worth the hassle. I honestly thought for the price it would stop working after a short time, but it's been over a year and it's still going strong.
