the roof but as i was in the backyard the whole time, we never saw them on the rear of the house. Despite this they put in their price exactly 19 broken tiles- a clue to the next 15 minutes 2) After a sales pitch and fidding with an app to get the price, a price way high is written ( not spoken ) and pushed in from of my 80+ year old mohter. It was off the planet, head office had told me the price range and it was way above their worst case. 3) On looking at him ' like you must be joking' and saying as much, magically the prices drops by thousands. Yes, thousands 4) As he had included every optional item without saying, i asked to remove them but magically that only saved $300. 5) I noted that various cost items on the list dont apply to the style of house. No response. 6) He pushed for a sale, i said, give me a written quote and we will think it over, he avoided and left no quote. 7) He then says he needs to call 'head office' and proceeds to say ' they don't want to sign up etc' so we can all hear, stressing my 80+ year old mum. Like she is being unreasonable. It’s like buying a used car 40 years ago. 8) I show him the door, no rudness etc., just thanks, goodbye 9) I follow up later, thinking it might be the salesperson but the office confirms they don't given written itemised quotes! Only 'proposals' which they don't assure the price anyway. What is a “proposal” I ask you all? Because you know, i might have hidden half my roof from them or something somehow ..... ( my theory , not theirs ) 10) What does come has all different cost items relating to your style of house but magically the 'proposal price' didn't move a cent. So risk factors they charge for came and went randomly but the price never moved. It isnt itemised though and very vague. You can decide what the quoting process was really then.

The whole experience was very distressing to my 80+ year old mum and thank God i insisted on being present. Head office appologised profusely but no solution was offered. I haven't ever crossed trades people like this & i use plenty.

The new roof restoration sold our house – Three years ago the roof of our house was looking tired and had leaking issues. After speaking with the Modern Group representative my wife and I decided to have our roof restored and painted. We were so happy with the finished product, damaged roof tiles were replaced, all leaks were fixed and the new colour of the roof was fantastic. Show reply

Excellent workmanship – Highly recommend modern to complete roof restoration activities. Very good workmanship and great customer service. Was a simple and easy process with constant check ins to ensure satisfaction with the work completed.

Modern CAN'T Be trusted – Attention to every Australian who wants their roof repair or restoration done by Modern Group: No word and work of Modern Group can be trusted. Modern ruined my roof that is leaking and since then my life has been devastated. Modern denies any responsibility for performing such a bad job. Never ending story – Contract signed Aug 10 2020 for work to commence in 4-6weeks. Multiple delays, 3sub-contractors and 7months later it was completed. The subbie did good work but wouldn’t use Modern again.

Don't judge by mistakes, judge by willingness to FIX mistakes – Had facias and gutters replaced by modern group. I found the downpipes mostly blocked as they cut and bent them to shape but did not trim excess so I have 5mm of down pipe for water egress. done soon, but I think it was unnecessary). I rang the job manager TWICE, he said he "didn’t know what he could do about it"! I asked him to send the contractors back to fix the issues, so he said to email him. I did email him and didn’t hear back until I raised it further AFTER Christmas (2-3 weeks later). Eventually I heard back from another person more willing to fix my issues and ensure my satisfaction and they sent a crew back to rectify all the issues that had arisen. At this stage it seems ok but I will need to wait for more rain to check it's all ok. I don't judge a company by their mistakes but by their willingness to rectify them and they did. Know what you want and don't hesitate to raise any issues and get them resolved. I’m due for a roof restoration and I will see what the result is there and write again on that.

Horrible experience – I have had my roof restored and sprayed along with all guttering replaced through the Modern Group, Great sales team BUT Horrible service, and shocking work. informed of this happening and were told it was our problem to sort out, when asking the contractor about this we were yelled at with profanity followed by them telling us to shove the job up our back.... I then contacted the Manager [name removed] about this, who could not do his job properly either, constantly asking me what I would like him to do! Aren’t you suppose to be fixing this situation!! After the second contractors came and completed the work we had some rain in which I noticed my roof STILL LEAKED, along with my gutters leaking, I was then told from [name removed] that there was no time for them to come fix my job as there were many other customers with leaks needing to be fixed!!! After all of this my roof was patchy I was told by [name removed] that this is normal and will all fade over time and blend in, 6 months later it is still patchy, I found them to have really poor service and their quality of work was even worse, I am more then happy for any employee from modern to come and check out their companies work, I also have photos and emails to go along with and provide proof of their work. If you want a great looking roof and good service I recommend you do not use this company.

Roof and Gutter restoration, excellent job – Totally happy with the work done (replacing gutters/down pipes and restoring the roof). Extremely happy with the dedication of the tradesmen (especially Mark the Roofer) who took pride in his work and this showed in the final results.

Top quality work – Our roof was looking a little sad and needed a good work over. After the order was lodged we were phoned and told when the work would be started. Dan from the trade team rang a week before told us the day he and his team would start. They were there at 7:30 on the day nominated and completed the whole job by the end of the next day. Thomas completing the job were friendly, professional and let me know each day what they would be doing. They were respectful of my home and tidied up after themselves, ensuring no mess was left behind. Within 30mins of the job being completed Chris from the office called to see if I was happy with the finished product. Start to finish time took 1 week. I am really impressed with my new roof. It looks fantastic.

WE HAD THE PROBLEM, THEY FIXED IT – We decided to put solar panels on the roof of our house. Before that was done I wanted the roof to be cleaned and renewed. On completion of the job I rang the company twice only to be told that the person I needed to speak to was busy and that he would ring me back, to this minute I have not heard from that person. This made me feel that once they had my credit card details that thats where the customer service ended, my only gripe.

Complete ripoff. I will never use or recommend Modern! – Was quoted 7k, for complete roof restoration. Replace cracked tiles, replace all ridges and re-bed, clean and paint entire roof. Payment was made, work was completed. Then, they inform me that none of the work I was quoted for and payed for needed doing and all they did was paint the roof! quoted for and I wanted that work done or some form of discount. They proceeded to argue that it didn't need doing and that I wasn't entitled to a refund. After much arguing to and forth, they refunded $250. I had quoted for painting the roof for $2500. What a complete rort! Never ever will I use them again.

Guttering and fascia covering – The fascia was covered and the guttering was replaced on my home. The result was excellent. Scott did a great job on the installation. Happy that they did work in my area because it can be hard to get contractors to work at Douglas Park.

What a transformation – Having been in our house for 6 months we contacted Modern Group to restore our terracotta tiled roof. The ridge and roof tiles have been refitted and secured, the grouting updated and the tiles cleaned.

Very happy with the results – Very happy with the company's professionalism and end result. Would definitely recommend them for their roofing work. Pricing was competitive as well as I'd shopped around before going with Modern.

Roof restoration including new Gutters, Fascias and Downpipes – We have been impressed with the care and commitment of the roofing team. Scott did a fabulous job on all the metal work in very windy conditions, and Dan took great care in the preparation and completion of the tile work and ensuring our property was left clear of any rubbish. and if rationalized we now have a whole roof that looks better than when we built the house 25 years ago, for less than 2.5% of the property value!! Chris in the Modern office coordinated with the various contractors to ensure a smooth and efficient process that worked in with our availability. The whole experience was easy, smooth and stress-less. Would recommend Modern to anyone wanting a quality job..

Roof Repair – Excellent service :- Had an issue with the sealer they used when the repaired my roof - after 4 years of insulation- 1 phone call and they came out to inspect the issue and the very next day thy were back to replace the sealer on the roof - fantastic service - Chris was very helpful and arranged the tradesman immediately - great service

Fabulous Roof – After an initial hiccup with the contract, Chris got on board and ensured all went well till the end. The result is fantastic. Luke and Bray did a great job.

Terrible After Service – Modern Group sales are very pushy they convinced me to use them to redo my roof, waterproof no more leaks for 10 years guaranteed, 2 years later my roof still leaks and they have every excuse ready as to why it is not their fault, it is such a waste of money and really disappointed in their after service lack of care, I am out of pocket thousands… Read more

Like new – My roof looks like new after many years, the tradesmen did a great job and were very friendly. We are very happy and would recommend to others doing their roof too
