My moebot s5 keeps telling mower lifted. I cleaned the bumper sensors. It started but after 10 minutes it did the same again. it is on flat ground and not being lifted at all. after clearing the fault on display and trying to start it again it keeps showing mower lifted. Any suggestions?
I have a MoeBot Acre eater which is going great. I would like to set it to run in a different direction each time, is there a way to set this?
Panel shows "mower outside" when mower is in middle of lawn.
My S5 no longer recognizes it's back in it charging dock and just tries to keep driving. IE Spinning wheels while docked. I have shut it down and re started doesn't help. Any ideas?
Hi Kevin, Check you have 26V + at the docking probes. Also that flaps on mower module are up and sprung. Usually will be a flaps failure rather than transformer/docking station failure. Mower CPU unaware it has arrived at charge station. If no luck let me know and I can suggest from there. Cheers Bob
Thanks Bob! I've managed to fix it. One of the wires had broken that attach to the flaps. It's a bit of a design fault I think as every time the mower docks the wires bend and eventually break. 2nd time it's happened 1st time was a partial break so just got a current to.low to charge message. So yes flaps failure of sort you were spot on. Thanks again. Kevin
Error message, " Charging voltage too low". A number of people have posted as having this issue but there has been no fix posted. Does anyone have advice ?
Mine just started giving me that message yesterday. I cleaned the charge pins and terminal but it has made no difference.
Moebot support got back to me today and are supplying replacement charging plates, springs and wires after I supplied a photo of the battery having 21.4 volts on a multimeter and no evidence of corrosion. It won't be the plates or the springs as they are ok, maybe something with wires but I don't see how they go from working fine to not without any changes being made. Regardless of the multimeter reading, I have ordered a new battery as well and hope that easy swap fixes it.
My one did that to me last week, been trying a bit of way charging it, reboot, reset. But what interesting way that work for me is that I'm just splashing water into the charging plate(infact splashing running water from the plate and washed all the way into the backside of the charging plate) thinking may be there are dried grasses behind it and suprisingly that work for me to get that back to charging normally. Hope it help others
Hi Kai, removing the component that holds the charging plates and springs, connecting wires is fairly straightforward to give them all a good cleanup. There are only 6 screws, suggest you do this up on a workbench in the event you drop the screws which isn't hard to do. Moebot will tell you to look if there is any corrosion on the wire connectors and to check the springs. One of my springs was broken through wear/corrosion and the charging plate was not springing back properly which prevented bot from going into charging mode when docked without a manual push. I replaced the spring which is held by two seperate metal pins running into the base of the charging plates. I used a small thin screwdriver the diameter of the plastic holding fixture to tap out the pins. Be careful you don't use an oversized one and split the plastic holding fixture. After completing all of that I still get the "Charging voltage too low" message so for now still at a loss as to the problem. Moebot are sending new wires but I have doubts this is the basis of the problem.
I love my moebots! I have two :) Unfortunately one has decided to give me some trouble. It charges and allows me to put the pin in, then says close cover, but just sits there beeping and not moving forward. I have tried starting it in the middle of the lawn and same thing… no error message, looks all fine on the display (says mowing)… just doesn’t move and keeps beeping… any help would be great! TIA
Hi Angelawa01, I suspect you have a Hall Sensor Failure. Small circuit board that stops all cutting and motion if the mower is picked up. Located internally close to the Right side Jockey wheel. Something every owner should note is the Close the Flap message is a delay in the programming only. Closing the flap does absolutely nothing but cover/protect the display. On the bottom of the emergency stop button is a super magnet, which when pushed down comes into close contact with main casing, directly below which is a momentary magnetic switch which interrupts the programmed operation. Automatically resets circuit when button released. If a fully functioning mower is left with the flap open it will go out after a short delay beep etc and start working. Handy to know if you are forced to manually send mower home and wish to see if when it docks it is charging. But prior to accepting an actual failure, try a factory reset. If the factory reset as outlined above to Melissa G. Bob Ford
Hi there, my Moebot S10 has been awesome until recently. It has started just shutting down in the middle of the lawn and the power is completely dead. It's like it no longer knows that it is going to run out of juice and doesn't try to get back to the charger. Everything else works perfectly provided I pick it up and put it in the charge station and then manually restart it again. Does this mean the battery is on the way out?
Probably, but you're best off replacing the battery yourself. Even if it's under warranty don't return it for repair. I sent mine back in April, still no joy, they're a nightmare to deal with.
Do you know how to use an ultimetre to check electrical output and battery capacity? That will tell you if it is charging to full capacity and holding charge. NOT much use replacing the battery if the actual software is the issue.
Hi Sean O, Not a Battery problem. Try a factory reset. Cheers Bob Ford
I need a video on how to replace my charging set on moebot s5. I have replaced the metal plate but not sure about the red and black wires from battery to plates.
I don't have a video but if you want to replace those wires you will need to take the entire main cover off too, and you will see where it plugs into the main board too. Lots of screws!
I watched a video of a pcb replacement and I saw how many screws that took and there were still more to get too the wires I need to replace. Wish me luck. Thanks for replying.
What is the best outdoor wi-fi extender to improve signal. My Moebot S30 is connected but cell phone only showing Moebot is mowing or on Standby. The device reading on my phone is saying low signal. Thanks Gary
I want to purchase moebot it..I have a narrow gap between shed an pool fence of about 1600.. instructions say 1200 minimum . If I lay wires 30cm from fence and 30 cm from shed that would make gap only 1000. Is this right . I guess what I mean does the 1200 minimum include 300 x2 distance or is 1200 the total distance
Hi Jake, My backyard is a simple rectangular-shaped area, so I have not thought about the problem you encountered. As a suggestion, I may prefer to wrap the yard in a simple shape area and leave the rest to be done manually by a trimmer. BTW, please do not mow too often otherwise, the wheel will run over the perimeter of the lawn many times and make there barren. That is my tip for using it for half a year so far.
Hi Jake, I wanted to get the area around my swimming pool mowed which was the other side of the pool fence and hedge, so i made a path 3 x 200mm wide pavers 1m long thru it and ran the boundary wires each side of the center paver (200mm apart) the mover followed the boundary wire both to start mowing and to go home to charge and it has been working OK for the last month, I hope this helps, PS i also layed my wires closer to the edge than they (200mm) I have put edging in most areas (flush with lawn) and then only 50mm so there is edge to trim,
My moebot is displaying ‘hardware error’. What can I do to get it to work again?
Hi Jodee, could you please email customerservice@robotmylife.com.au with your contact details and a team member will be in touch.
Hello, I have bought a Moebot S10 secondhand off in the box someone who has forgotten the pin for it. I have the invoice for the Moebot but does anyone know what I can do? I cannot factory reset it as I need to be able to log into it to do it.
My S5 is not charging and coming up with a message 'charging voltage too low'. Anyone had the same issue and fixed it?
Hi Ian, it could be one of a couple of things. Do you have an order number so the support team can call you?
I've just sent an email to support
[Order #43939] (March 4, 2022)
Hi Ian, good luck after waiting 5 weeks to get mine fixed they returned a different model in really poor condition, and now are ignoring me
Just had the "charging voltage too low" error too.... help! [Order #43633] (February 11, 2022)
I've just had the charging current too low error as well. Did anyone have a fix?
Getting “charging current too low” error also. First issue with this great little time saver mower.
I'm also getting the "Charging current is too low" error. I've tested the voltage from my power supply and it is correct. I've cleaned the terminals on the mower and the docking station and still getting the same error. My mower is only a year and a half old. Please help.
[Order #52925] (February 23, 2023)
I love my mower but can only do one of my 3 lawns until my extra wire order comes, it's been over a month now, can someone please let me know when I will be receiving this? Emails have not been answered recently.
Hi Tania, can I please have an order number and I can look to this for you?
Thank you, I called this morning and was told the wire will be with you on Friday.
An update, I have wired up my front lawn which I mow Monday to Thursday evenings and even the 3 Homes Westies over the road just ignore it (after I had all the kids all over it & asking about it on the first day, I think it was worth the time on a Saturday afternoon).
I do have to carry it out and set the phone timer to fetch it afterwards, but my frontage is finally looking great all the time! I ended up setting it up as one area so the concrete drive effectively gets mown too which makes it a big area. This is on the loop for the back lawn with 2 wires run together down the concrete joins and works really well.
I do the back lawn Friday to Sunday nights, it’s a little smaller, and safer over the weekend.
Still in disbelief that no-one has stolen the mower or even cares about it! I did check it is covered under my contents insurance which it is.
I use the mower very basically, just use the stop & start button and set the time for 2 hours so it only goes out once a day when I am home (approx 1hr 45 min), it mows in the dark just fine. And I bought a large tub to put over it on watering nights instead of a garage as the only place to put the base out of the sun has a powerful pivoting retic head nearby.
Any ideas what the usb port is power rated for? Will it support a usb powered camera that is up to 5W? I get the port is on the bottom and has IP rating, but let's assume I can manage that part.
Hi Pete, the USB port is designed to update software manually if required.
Thanks. I realised that. Do you know the power rating? I assume 500mA?
No further answer on this. Assume you don't know
After 2 years of ni issues today I get 'mower trapped error repeatedly. I've seen other videos of customers with the same problem, anyone resolved this?. How do I contact tech support?
Hi Jason, apologies this thread was missed, do you have a order number so support can call you?
I would like to run wires down a driveway crack from the front to back lawn 10 meters away, & lift my mower there. Can the going & returning wires both be put in the same concrete gap (not 1cm apart)?
If the wires are placed next to each other it will cancel the signal in that section. So in this case, across the driveway. If you create a new loop on the other side of the driveway this will enable you to physically place the MoeBot in this section and mow until it goes flat.
Just what I wanted to hear, thank you.
Update - this is working really well and looks good.
It have a S10. How far does the mower cut over the guide wire? I have concrete strips all around my lawn and would like to cut just over the edge so no lawn is left uncut. Also is there some way you can install the charging station just off the lawn?
Will anyone answer this query?
It goes over the wire approx 5-10cm in my experience. I would have the wire against the edge of the concrete if possible, then it will cut with one wheel on the concrete and one on the grass, with the cutting part right on the edge. If you got thr grass levels right you would almost not need an edger at all.
Thanks very much for the answer. Appreciated.
My moebot is no longer docking. It starts to turn left as soon as it touches the dock and then gets stuck, and throws a 'trapped' error. The ground is level and the boundary wire is 2m straight. This just started all of a sudden.
Hi Yomi, please contact support and we will help troubleshoot.
How do I get moebot to mow specific zones? I know how to set them either on moebot or the app, but can't find instruction on getting it to mow say 'Zone 2' only?
Did you ever get an answer, I’m having the same problem?
Hi David. I think someone else has answered similarly, but it's actually random ie you can't. If you have 2 zones set up you've kinda got a 50% chance of it mowing either zone. I'm sure that's not statistically correct, but you get the idea.
MoeBot can be set to mow a specific area which is distance in metres from the dock. It will focus on this area for a period of time before moving to another area.
Thank you, I bought mine based on this video external link showing it doing specific zones for set times on the same day. It would be ridiculous for it now to be random. Even when mine does go into the correct zone it might only be there for 5 minutes before it hits the lane I made between zones just right (lane has wires 500mm apart based on another video) and continues on to the other zone and stays there for the whole time, ignoring the zone it should be doing. Is that your experience?
Thank you MoeBot, can you tell me how far apart the wires need to be to create a lane between zones? So it will travel between zones but not prematurely leave a zone, as per my problem in the previous comment.
The wire for a passageway needs to be 1.2m apart
Thanks MoeBot, I actually got the 500mm from this video external link but even at 500mm it will trvael between areas by accident and try cutting in the 500mm wide lane. Does 1.2m wide prevent that from happening?
As above, there seems to be so much conflicting information. In the official videos I have watched, one shows having the wires no more than 1cm apart (to travel between zones), and the most recent one I watched said no more than 50cm. I have adjusted mine to 50cm, and it kind of works, but is a bit hit and miss. So now it's 1.2m ? And as far as mowing specific zones - this was the message I received from support (suggesting random): "The percentage of the Zone setting means, for example: you have set 5 zones all in 25%, it means every time Moebot come out from charging station, it has 25% possibility to go each zone. It is every start from charging time. Hope this helps and have a great day.".....so, am I misunderstanding this?
If it mistakingly travels between zones and performs cutting in a narrow 500mm gap, I can only assume making the gap 1.2m wide would increase the problem. As for scheduling and doing a specific zone or multiple zones at specific times, this was a feature MoeBot had 3 years ago, why would it be random now.
As per the video above, he sets a start time, selects an area and sets the time to mow that area, then selects another area and sets a time to mow that area. The current scheduling as far as I can tell, can't mow 2 zones in the same day. Can't be set to start mowing at 10 at night to finish at 6 the next morning.
Hi David, it may not be random. I may have misinterpreted the email explanation (as above). The passageway set at 50cm doesn't mow, it just doesn't travel completely smoothly through it every time. Agreed 1.2 might make it worse, and it might actually mow as well. Regarding support - it seems slow and frustrating, and you shouldn't have to come to a 3rd party page to get quicker responses IMO. I have seen references to a help line, but can't seem to find an actual contact number.
At 500mm mine has no problem going to the intended zone and returning home when it attempts to. But there is nothing preventing it from randomly switching zones, which it does. I assume if I have 2 zones and set both zones to 50% then it should mow the zones on alternating days, is that correct?
Hi MoeBot, is there any clear instructions for mowing multiple zones? Thanks
I have asked this as well. It is clearly defined for my worx landroid at 5cm either a bottleneck or a continual length where it travels and doesn't enter unless on zone or return to home commands. But information for the moebot is a little lacking in detail (yes I've seen the videos). Support didn't answer my question correctly and now waiting a while to hear a correct answer from them..
