This review will top all of these for "bad" – I purchased these traps as a last resort because I can't deal with mice, or traps or anything, but had no choice. Set the trap and in the morning was horrified to find it had caught a mouse, but it was still alive!! Scratching around trying to get out! It was very distressing and traumatic for me (and my son who had to deal with it!!) Show details
No star absolute crap! – Don't work had set for two weeks only to find droppings in the set trap says on pack works or money back yet cant contact the company at all email on site has no send button and phone number supplied also dose not work scammed at every point Show details
DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY – Purchased four 2 packs of these traps just to be sure I could catch a mouse that I was certain I only had one of. Each 2 pack was $10. I had them set for 2 weeks in areas where I was continuing to find ongoing activity and NOTHING. Got so sick of not catching anything that I decided to get some RATSAK pre-baited, poison free traps which were… Read more
significantly less costly and caught the mouse within half an hour of setting the trap. I wrote to Mortein to advise them how disappointed I was that their traps did not work and received a response that was equivalent to “thanks for letting us know but that’s too bad for you.”. I spent $40 on these traps and won’t be able to use them again even though they probably won’t catch anything. I would have been happy to spend that amount if I had even caught one mouse but when they are so clearly not effective I would NEVER recommend these to anyone and just advise to go with traditional traps. It’s not nice having to see/touch the dead mouse but at least it does the job. Can recommend the RATSAK pre-baited ones. Very happy with those. Easy to set and no need to stuff around baiting them.
Don't waste your money – Purchased the trap as the only option for a poison free enclosed trap (I have two dogs). Bought two packs of two. One wouldn't stay in the 'SET' position = useless. Another had a faulty spring and went off without a mouse and the spring went through the top of the trap = also useless Show details
Not good enough – The first time of use a few years ago it worked. So I purchased a few more the following year. Absolutely no results whatsoever for the later events. A "strike rate" of 33% is just not good enough. I will not purchase this product again.
Flimsy and easy view markers don’t work – Got 1 pack of 2, took a week and a half to catch a mouse-i noticed that the red marker wasn’t on ‘set’ anymore, but it wasn’t on ‘caught’-it was on ‘not set’, so I spent a good few minutes trying to get it to set again, but it just kept spinning around, I grabbed a stick and was trying to push the red clip thing back up and as I turned the product… Read more
around in my hand I suddenly saw a bit of fur, and I realised it wouldn’t reset cos it had a dead mouse in it already-really gross cos I had it against my chest while trying to push the red thing up, YUK! So after finding that I thought I should check the other one, when I went to pick it up the top half came up in my hand and the bottom bit remained on the ground, so I don’t know how big the mouse must’ve been to break it, but I haven’t caught anything overly big so I don’t know. So, would I recommend? No. $10 for one catch-cos they are not reusable- makes no economic sense whatsoever. A complete rip off really.
Why is there not a no star review? – I set my mouse trap with food 4 days ago and have been constantly checking and nothing. Last night I pulled out the food and changed it and when I woke up this morning, I checked it and the food was gone. I pulled out out the 2nd trap that was in the pack, hoping it had a better trigger and it won't even set no matter how far or less I pull it… Read more
back. I then checked the 1st trap and it won't trigger when weight is on the food pad.
BIGGEST waste of $10 ($5ea) I have ever spent.
I will advise people to go to bunnings and go oldschool and get a wooden bar trap that costs $3 for 2. Don't waste your money on this plastic crap that doesn't work
Useless (non working) broken traps – Set the first trap as per instructions. Second tap would not 'set', broken. Meanwhile mice run past first trap preferring to be caught in the cheap $2 trap. Two weeks later without any mouse intervention first trap goes off breaking into two! Total waste of money Show details
Mice hold Christmas Parties on this trap – I have had 6 of these traps around the house for well over a week. One has broken completely. The second one said a mouse was caught - we could see no evidence of this by visual inspection, smell or weight. There is new mouse poo all around another one where mice have been walking past it. Bad design. Doesn't work. Mice are partying hard. Show details
