Badly designed seat that is very hard to put in and take out of car. Shouldn't be that hard. Maybe the [Content Removed] that design these things should try and put it into a car. [Content Removed] Show details
Great seat - used for 2 kids! – Before we had our first child, I did a LOT of research into car seats. I paid to join consumer reviews company CHOICE just to see their child seat reviews, asked friends and strangers questions and then researched the seats they had. We have a small car, so had to take that into account. I eventually discovered that there was a similar car seat… Read more
recommended by Choice but couldn't find this specific brand. After a bunch of phone calls looking for the seat recommended by Choice, I was informed that, as I'm in Qld. The Mother's Choice Nomad was basically the same seat except under a different name for whatever reason. This was in early 2009.
No one can predict how tall, chubby etc a child will be. We wondered about that but decided to take the risk. We managed to keep our daughter rear-facing till she was about 10 months old. The law at the time was 6 months or a certain weight. She was an average size and weight.
She stayed in it until almost 4, when we had her baby brother. Because she wasn't 4, we then had to buy her another convertible (not a booster ). This was fine as we wanted to keep the H-Harness on her, as a regular seat belt does not seem safe for a 4 or 5 year old.
However. Baby brother used the seat until almost 4.5. He's shorter than she was at that age. He technically could have gotten longer out of it, but we finally gave now Miss 7. 5 a booster and gave Master 4 her convertible.
My research at the time, our size car and the price (which I barely took into account) made it the right seat for us. The price enabled us to buy two - one for each small car - which was sooooo worth it for us and our unpredictable schedules.
Easy to clean, adjust etc.
Oh as a newborn, the only thing is that we had to add a safely folded towel for head support. Besides that, which was easy to do, everything else was fine. We only needed the towel for a few weeks (used in conjunction with the newborn insert).
Does the job – We bought this seat for our first son it worked great but doesn't have a good rf weight limit we only got 8 months rf compared the 18 months when he hit 12 kgs so I recommend buying a seat with higher rf limit was cheap at the time my som also fully grew out of this seat at about 18 months so we had to buy a maxi rider Cheap if not a lot of money Low rear face limit small shell not good for tall kids
Wonderful – I got this specifically cause of our tiny (old) car and I ♡ it! We have a bigger car now and I still prefer this one over our big deluxe one. It's light, easy to adjust and sits the baby in at a good angle and he seems so comfy. He falls asleep in this seat within 5 mins of any trip. Light, inexpensive, easy to move and adjust.
The foam behind the seat cover has started to disintergrate – I have found that there were fine dust paricles all over the base of the seat and to my dissmay the foam under the seat cover has started to disintergrate. It sems to me that the poor child strapped to this seat would be inhalimg the foam particles. My seat is a few years old but surely this should not happen. The seat itself seems fime but the cover that is another matter. The seat cover is dangerous
Not as great – I brought this for my third but now that he is 9 wks I have to remove the padding for the straps to sit properly on his shoulders. It's great that it fits into my car with two other carseats but I'm not happy I don't think he will fit in the recline position til 6mths or 9kgs as he is already 6kgs. Inexpensive small Too small and the padding need to fit the carseat so when u adjust the straps u don't need to remove it
wouldn't recommend – My partner bought this car seat when we had our son in 2010. He is now 2 and I've had to go and but a new seat as he's getting too talk for it. There is no way this would last him till he's 4! The fabric can be hard to wash food out if if it isn't done soon after your child has spilt stuff on it. My son was able to get his arms out of the… Read more
restraint all the time no matter how much I'd adjust it. It is lightweight though so easy to move between cars or if travelling long distance by train or bus (yes I have done this). It also fit in the backseat between two hi pod booster seats I had for my older children.ok for someone with smaller than average child. lightweight, small enough to fit between two booster seats in the backseat. not tall enough therefore could only use it for two years rather than four.
Good price – I found when moving the seat from car to car it needed it to be properly installed, straps were always loose and always had difficulty when needing to tighten the straps. Which made the seat loose and wobble and the baby will move around in seat. The 9kg facing should be 12kg. I'd like to keep my son rear facing for as long as possible as it… Read more
safer. priced well, not to bulky or overly heavy when needing to be moved. From newborn to toddler. Straps loosen very easily, Fabric piling, straps are hard to tighten, end result I bought a new seat.
Excellent – I love my car seat. You are able to use it from newborn through to 18kg both rear and forward facing. It is easy to install and is durable. It is easy to clean and the trim matches the car!!! I love it. It has easy changing seatbelt positions so it is great for baby when they are growing so quickly. I would highly recommend this seat I love the… Read more
fact that this is a rear and forward facing seat that you can use from newborn to 18kg. It has independent locking clips too which is good. nothing this is a great car seat
Terrible – i find the staff rude the product is not as good as safe and sound when talking replacement parts and they cant even tell you what stock they have available for the product when you call or email it is a sturdy car seat but hopeless to buy sppare parts for when you order a replacement cover you can not request a colour they send it then if you… Read more
dont like it you can send it back I think they should at least tell you the colours and let you pick so you dont have to pay the postage for a product you dont want
Excellent – Tops - we are going to buy another one for our second child and would have no hesitation in recommending this seat. Very easy to install and modify to suit a growing child. That is wasn't the FIRST seat we bought!!!
Excellent – I have the mothers choice nomad it is a grate car seat i have had it sence my 8th child was born he used it from birth he has turned three last month and he is still in it. It is such a sturd car seat i own a 4wd and the strap that runs to the floor reached over the back of my seats nice to the floor with alot of car seats you need an externsion… Read more
strap but not with the nomad i would recomend this car seat it is very good and it wears well mine is still like new and it has had alot of use they are brilliant. I just love mother choice none at all
Bad – This seat is quite cheap compared to others on the market, but in some ways it is easy to see why (see above). The harness also tends to get stuck and becomes difficult to tighten when the child is in the seat... Can be a good purchase for a second car or grandparents. Affordability, fabric Smaller (shorter) than other 0-4 convertible car seats,… Read more
flimsy plastic, reclining positing for rearward facing does not work in lots of cars, top tether is awkwardly designed and difficult to adjust when rearward facing, people tend not to fit seat correctly as seatbelt alone (without gated buckle/locking clip) is usually not enough to keep seat in tightly
Has anybody else found that the foam at the back of the seat cover has started to disintergrate and… Read more

Good – Overall i love this car seat as it is still in great condiotion after 2 years of use with a very boisterious and messy toddler. Its comfortable and fits well in the car. I found this car seat to be well priced and it made out of great fabric. I found it great for my son when he was little as he looked really comfortable when sleeping in the… Read more
rearward position The only problem i have found is the harness that tightens the arm part of the carseat overtime becomes looser and needs to be tightened which is not as simple as the instructions make out
Good – Good value for money. Does the job - has all the features of a more expensive seat. My daughter always seems very comfortable in this seat. Very reasonably priced compared to other brands. Can be used from newborn - in the rear facing position. Our fabric is 'piling' a bit. I have purchased a cover off ebay to put over this seat as I find it quite hard to clean if my daughter spills anything on it.
Good – I got this from a friend and my baby loves it. She can kicks out her leg as it is quite spacious. It reclines well too, makes it comfortable for babies to even sleep in it. But it does not come with head and body support, so you have to supply yourself, especially for small babies, to avoid them swung from side to side. It is easy to install in… Read more · 1
the car and easy to remove to clean as well. Easy to install and quite spacious, not too bulky Does not come with head and body support, bub easily swung sideways
Bad – I chose this seat because it looked nice and was a reasonable price, but regret the purchase. Because of the recent car seat laws, children can't go into a booster seat until they turn four, so once my child grows out of this seat, I will have to buy another one to use until he is old enough to go in a booster seat. Can be used from newborn to… Read more
toddler. Nice slimline design and easy to install. Reasonably priced. Only rear faces to 9kg - would definitely prefer it if it went up to 12kg so babies could face backwards for longer because they are safer in that position. Doesn't have a very high back, so most children will grow out of it before they turn 4.

Did you add any inserts for newborn? I have one of these, but not sure if need any inserts for support? Baby is due in May.
