Certainly not the greatest phone – The Motorola V3 cost $140 at first release. In my opinion, it is not worth this price, and the consumer is better off getting a simple "brick phone" for a lot cheaper, than this junk. For starters, this phone only has 7.5MB of space. This only fits a limited amount of videos and images, and can just barely fit one song. The camera functions… Read more
are poor. The images are about 5 to 50kb in JPG format, and the videos are in 3pg format, the size depending on the time you film. These formats are both very, very poor quality. The camera is a 4X VGA. Bluetooth transfers are agonisingly slow. It takes over 45 minutes to transfer a 4MB song. The phone also tends to not respond in extreme conditions.
The good thing about this phone is that the menus are easy to use, and the screens on the phone are quite strong. I've had this phone for quite a while, and I have dropped it on concrete a few times, and the screens show barely any sign of wear.
I would not recommend this phone to anybody. It is a piece of junk, and I would choose a "brick phone" over the Motorola V3 anyday of the week. Easy to use in terms of the menus, security settings etcetera. Also has a strong screen. Expensive at time of release. Tends to freeze in extreme conditions. Limited amount of space. Camera and Video Camera is of poor quality. Bluetooth Transfer is slow.
Good – I love my motorola but I have to admit now that I there are a couple of things I find disapointing about it. I wish it had an expandable memory. I don't see the point of being able to play mp3s and video when it can hardly hold any at all. Also it doesn't have a radio which I find disapointing. However it looks good and works well otherwise.… Read more
Motorola menus are my preferred choice. Also the software it comes with is fantastic. I download and edit all of my own ring tones now. Best way to get exactly what you want without spending any money. I'd suggest if you like to play video and mp3s on your phone then this is definitely not the choice for you. But call wise etc this one is great. Looks great (I have a hot pink one). Love the shape and size of it. Software is fantastic fun and easy to use. Sound quality is great. Loud enough to be heard. I prefer the motorola menu format to any other phone. No expandable memory so unable to hold more than a couple of songs. :( No radio. Camera lower quailty but typical of this price range of phones.

Good – It is one of the fashionable phone I have seen so far.when you talk about class and stlye it is a phone to take look for because it is superb. The skeekines and slimness. It is a good phone with nice battery life. It does not have a provission for memory card.
Excellent – I really like this phone, my husband gave it to me cause he was so sick of me using a really cheap crapy samsung. I was so impressed, I'm not one to need the latest and greatest, I really just wanted a phone to make calls and to txt. I really like that it's a flip phone and I don't have to worry about locking my key pad or accidentally picking up… Read more
the phone when I'm trying to avoid a call. I would recomend this phone for anyone who just wants a simple easy to use phone. Price, Easy to use, Flip top, looks nice. Nothing really.
Good – great phone for the price, looks good, works great! i would reccomend this phone to anyone, lasts for ages, good phone for begginners. love the look of it, feels good in your hands. overall i rate it 4/5 great phone motorola! slim, nice colour, great sound bit cheap

Good buy – I remember getting this phone when I was younger. I used to think it was the ant's pants! Literally. It did everything I wanted it to. Easy to use, good graphics (for when it was made). Great little first phone, it might be a little dated now Sometimes it would freeze on me
OK – Good phone for the price, lasted long enough and survived with only a few scratches after being dropped off of a balcony. Large good looking keypad with turqoise lines under the keys. Lots of problems, may have just been mine, but still not satisfied. It would freeze up and not even turn off/make calls on hot days and constantly make noises… Read more
in my pocket uncontrollably as if I was pressing the vol up/down buttons.
Very average reception. I live in the hills so it is bad enough unless you have 3G. The reception would only just hhold up and some days wouldn't even make calls. Very limited storage space and has a bunch of glitches.
Once it turned on in the middle of the night with it's irritating, un removable start up tone, for no reason.
Overall, not a bad phone, but hates the heat and has limited space for photos and ringtones. Not a bad phone for the price and commonly used. Looks good and is absolutely indestructible.. while shut. Big shiny keypad and front mounted camera which can take pictures while shut using the lid screen. It is old, but has a whopping 5MB of storage space which will hold about 50-100 photos max and not even one song. Also, used to have major problems on warmer days with constant freezing, glitching and malfunctioning.
Average reception compared to most other phones.
OK – Good basic phone if you dont mind learning how to figure it out. not so good for those who have trouble with electronics Compact, sleek hard to figure out the symbolds and buttons for typing a message, sound quality was poor, chargers werent the easiest to come by or were very "interchangeable" with other brands

Good basic clam shell mobile – I've had one of these for years now and like it very much. Not into the flash internet gobbling types of phones, basic phone with text suits me fine. Hubby was so impressed he wanted one too. Couldn't find one in any of the shops so bought one from an Aussie ebay trader for $75.95 delivered reg. post. The fact it closes like a clam shell protecting the screen etc. Speaker works very well on calls. A bit fiddly
Excellent piece of equipment – I found this phone to be the best I have ever owned. Unfortunately it was broken at work after someone dropped something heavy on it. I had knocked it about over the course of three years with no major effect to the handset. I'm really sorry I can't find another. Easy to use, light, handy and v. good styling Can't think of anything I disliked about it Show reply
Very durable but lacking – I owned this phone for about 5 years. Since all I do is message and make calls it was a pretty good phone... The so-called features were useless though, it didn't have a very good interface either. For the time, it looked revolutionary (and probably was at the height of technology) but the one stand out for me was the durability of this… Read more
phone... It could take a lot of abuse. I once threw it at a wall and it still worked. Sleek design but heavy duty, reliable. Interface is ugly and hard to navigate, features were mainly useless.
OK – Its strange how iconic designs can suddenly look so like yesterday's pizza. This Motorola is just that. It used to be the sexiest phone three generations before the Iphone has replaced it. It now is just too cliched. On top of of it the screen is too small, with poor resolution, the phone is too wide and says that you have woken up three years too… Read more
late. On the flip side, excuse the pun the phone is still very functional and comes with Motorolas great and logical operating system. Great build quality, used to be an iconic design, logical layout, has most functions one needs in a phone Very passe design, screen small, too wide, available now only in garish colours, clamshell design not the most convenient

OK – A very reliable, simple to operate and useful phone. Battery should last at least a week depending on use . I have had mine for over 3 years and not one single thing has broken. The software is excellent and i have only had a glitch once while using the inbuilt camera. Get this phone if you are looking for a reliable cheap mobile to use for… Read more
texting for calls. great battery life, slim profile, easy texting , big screen, affordable and great warranty a little bit bulky and the outer screen can crack if not taken care of. The web features are hopeless
OK – When I first saw this mobile phone I knew I wanted one! I loved the look of it and picked one up as soon as I could. The sleek lines and look appealed to me, it was easy to navigate, the features were fairly standard and the camera was fairly basic but at a cost of $200 outright I couldn't see any problem with that. My only irritation lay in the… Read more
keyboard. The keyboard is completely flat and in terms of tactile feel it was a little lacking, the slide of your fingers across the keys proved irritating on occassion. Aside from that, I had no other real complaints! Slim, easy to navigate, stylish keyboard, easily marked surface
OK – Overall, and ok phone to use, i would reccomend it be bought by people who dont care much for their phone, as it doesnt have every application known to man, and is very easy to work out how to use. It is efficient aand reliable, and ive dropped mine heaps of times and it hasnt broken once =) thumbs up =) Slim Easy to Use Quite Cheap Doesnt slow… Read more
down after a while of use *(well mine didnt anyway ) Really hard to text.. its so annoying!
If your tech savvy then you wont like this phone much.. it hasnt got all the gadgets =p
OK – I found the 4X zoom digital camera to be great and the fact that it has a built in MP3 player really did come in handy at times. However I found that battery life was not as good as it could of been and I did not get the hours of talktime nor standby that this phone was accredited with, so that was a little disappointing. Speaker volume was great… Read more
and I found the phone to be fairly resilient as I did drop it numerous times and caused no damage. Sleek ultra thin slimline, flip cover prevents accidental pushing of buttons. A built-in MP3 player I found this phone to have very poor battery life.
Terrible – overall if you just want a basic reliable cheap phone then this will do the job but if you want a phone with lots of storage space and lots of new media then this is not what ur looking for it looks awesome and i like the shiny key pad and the screen on the frount is good some say that the battery life is bad but i dident have many problems with mine
Bad – I got mine when it first came out. back then it was the bees knees but quickly became dated. After 6 months the phones battery only lasted 2 days at most and the camera is really bad for 2 megapixels. Although it is thin, it is very wide as well. Unfortunately the phone degraded rapidly with mild use. The pain came off the entire phone, the front… Read more
screen broke from my tiny dog sitting on it and eventually it started cancelling texts and calls and not turning on. It is a surprise they still sell it.
battery life is crap. design is old. features pretty average.
Good – This is definately one of my favourite phones. I loved the silver colour which is much easier to find in a black bag than a black phone. I liked that it constantly reminds you when you haven't read a message and the buttons are relatively big and easy to press. Because it is a flip phone it is also good because there are no accidents with… Read more
calling people when the phone isn't locked. My phone lasted 18mo and then the top and bottom broke apart. I wasn't being rough, I just opened it to answer a call, so that was disappointing Sleek design, wide screen, relatively okay camera Flip action
OK – Others have said the memory on this phone isn't very good but I have a miniSD card from a previous Motorola (a newer model which I killed and Telstra was very kind to send me a V3 that doesn't cost me anything)...so I dont have a problem with not enough storage space. Overall the phone is pretty decent. I am not a feature lover (though I do… Read more
want an Iphone next) so the sound quality on calls is pretty good and it does the job. But the main thing I use it for aside from calls is texting of course and I HATE the texting system. This goes for all of Motorola phones actually. I hate that it doesn't remember many custom words at all. If I teach it MY name, if forgets my BOYFRIENDS name so I am forever switching between the predictive text and the normal "bip bip bip = F" system. It gets very tedious so since I've had this phone almost a year now and I still can't write a text in a logical manner. I am no technophobe either and pick up new technology quickly but this drives me nuts.
It also doesn't remember or have a smilies function. I am sure not everyone uses them but I love emoticons.
The only good thing about it is when it DOES know a word, the T9 system fills it in nicely after only a few letters. If only they could somehow combine Nokia and Motorola predictive text together without the worst from each.
OH WELL enough of a rant. I wouldn't have bought this phone if I had a choice but since it was pretty much free then I am making do. Nice keypad and big screen I HATE THE TEXTING SYSTEM! It drives me up the wall.
Good – Overall, I've had this phone for over 2 years and have never had any real problems with it. I've also dropped it a few times and it's hasn't been damaged so it's quite durable. It's a sleek design that comes in many colours. It has many features such as a camera, a video recorder, voice recorder, bluetooth and a voice detecter for when you dont… Read more
want to find the person you want to call, you can just say their name (but you have to record it with your own voice before hand). This phone would be so much better if you could insert a memory card in it because there simply isn't enough memory on it. Just enough to save your messages and a couple of photos.

OK – I had this phone for 1-2 years and it constantly malfunctioned after a few months. There were periods when it would freeze, or randomly turn off, for days at a time. One of my remedies was to throw it on the ground repeatedly, which, strangely, sometimes worked. Overall, it's a stylish, sexy phone, but not worth the cost, and technologically not… Read more
as advanced as many more on the market. Stylish design, soft easy-to-use keypad, slim build, goes with every outfit, sophisticated-looking, cool flip-phone, various colours, caller photo ID. Malfunctions regularly!!! Especially after the warranty is up. Low phone memory. Bad battery life. Bad camera quality, even for a 2MP. Dodgy bluetooth. Texting is hard to do fast, even after getting used to the system.
Good – This phone is pretty good, and fairly cheap (I got mine for $200, but that was couple of years ago, so now theyre probably pricing at about $120 - $150). If you're not looking for anything fancy and you don't want to spend much, then this could be the phone for you. This phone is very simple and easy to use. The screen's nice and big and the… Read more
buttons on the key pad are very wide which is good. The design of the phone is very nice and suits all ages and genders. The battery doeesn't last more than a couple of days, the photo quality is quite poor and there's no memory card slot.

Terrible – the motorola v3 is so not worth $130 it dosnt come in nice colours and because i write messages so fast whenever I write a message it takes abot 20 seconds to catch up stylish design two screens are good ugly colours its so not worth the money a nokia is so much better the motorola v3 i think is very slow to respond. the buttons fade and get dirty… Read more
very easily and an imprint from the buttons gets on your screen also you cant see the screen very well in the light and the phone dosnt vibrate well and dosnt ring very loud
OK – Great phone for a beginner user, motorola charger which can be used with usb cord. Battery last, Not easily damaged, slim to fit into pocket. Very slim, great sound, flip-phone, bright colors. dim screen, not alot of memory.
Good – Though i used the totally black one, this metallic piece is very stylish. It's battery life is good and has a VGA camera with a 4x zoom. It's thin body and sleek design make it a decent looking one. Also it is included with bluetooth and syncronizer. Finally this is not a bad spend at all. Stylish body, built in mp3 limited storage, buttons
OK – Overall I think this is an OK phone. I wouldn't recommend it to people, but I also know that there are far worse phones out there on the market. I like the sleek and stylish look of this phone. I think that it is one of the more elegant of the flip phones in terms of appearance. I also like the layout of the key pad with the buttons recessed in to… Read more
the handset I am not impressed with the battery life of this phone. It just dies! I also think it could be improved by increasing the memory of the phone.
OK – i think, overall, this phone is a well operated product and i recommend it to people that want a stylish and good working phone to buy one of these cause i think they work exquisite. i like the mad look of this phone. my friend has it and i love it because i borrowed it when i lost my phone and the next day i went and got one so i keep in contact… Read more
off this phone well and i love it. i think that it is set out very well and is stylish. i dont think i dislike anything about this phone.
OK – A good price for basic applications and camera. It is well built, not easily broken but one of my friend who also owned one wrecked when some drops of water hit the screen and dripped in the behind the number pad. The screen did not work anymore. A cool design to show off to your friends. Slim design and fits into your pocket easily even if you… Read more
are wearing tight pants. Good battery life because it does not use a lot of processes. Can easily be unnoticed and hard to find if you have your phone on silent. Feels like you may be got pick pocketed as the phone does not appear to be there due to being light weight.
OK – Overall its not a bad phone, but I rather a nokia or sony ericson. This phone needs way more memory or a memory card slot. Do you guys agree with me? Please also leave comments. I like the looks, the feel of the buttons, and I like it how it has the other screen you see when you close the phone. It's useful having a camera, and I like having… Read more
bluetooth. It only has 7.5 megabites of memory and the bluetooth turns itself off after a while. The camera qulaity is o.k, but I wouldn't reccommend this phone.
OK – My overall opinion is that it is pretty good. It looks great but there are soe things that need to be fixed up. The Motorola is a great phone. It looks hot and ver, very modern. It has a camera and Bluetooth. The phone has big buttons so it is easy to text with. There are acouple of things that could be fixed on this phone. First of all the… Read more
Battery last like 1 day with bluetooth on and 1 and a half with it off.
There is only 7.5 megabits. That is hardly enough to store anything on there. It is also very hard to text.
Good – I got my V3 as a company provided mobile in 2005 and loved it. Reception and clarity were exceptional. It was easy to use and had good battery life. The phone software allowed making ring tones and moving them onto the phone like computer files. I recently decided to leave the employer and bought a V9 that I am not nearly as wrapped with.… Read more
Sturdy metal case, rugged, good buttons, high tech look and feel if you don;t count smart phones. Case is a matt finish that does not attract fingerprints. Uses a standard mini-USB to connect to a computer. Very good phone-computer software. It does not have some of the bells and whistles expected in 2009.
