I bought stationary multiple times both for myself and kids. Found this shop to be reliable, fairly price and above everything great customer service. I've ordered online and also have been to their Chatswood (NSW) shop in-person too. Could highly recommend, based on my and my family's experience. Show details

Muji has lost its identity !!!! price keep going up because Muji is so addicted to use influencers to marketing their products these days!!!! You are literally pay for the influencers for the items they touched. mostly overpriced in Australia, up $1- $2, n some been doubled, n doubled of the price of sg, mostly made in vietnam n not jp. NO brand ?!!!! Good Quality.

First purchase, and I will never be buying at Muji ever again! This store has the most ridiculous policy I have ever dealt with. Purchased a hoodie, size was wrong, and had gone to a different city. Tried to return the item in brand new condition with tag and receipt, only to be told that, because I paid on credit card, I had to return to the… Read more

original store where purchased was made! I couldn’t believe the stupidity! I then went to about three other stores along my travels and was told the exact same thing. I eventually literally went back to that city, that specific store, only to return it and leave again for another city. They returned it, and refunded the full amount. And then, I had to make a separate transaction because I needed to pay the 10c for the shopping bag!!! Unbelievable! Ridiculous, petty, and downright dumbest store ever! Just got to Uniqlo instead!!!

The quality of the items was good, but the customer service experience was extremely poor. I ordered bulk items for in-store pickup, and when I arrived to collect them, I requested assistance to reach the designated loading dock area, but was told NO, as per company policy. They are only happy to provide you with a trolley to use to transport your… Read more

items on the loading dock, which is located on the basement level.

I spoke with the store manager about receiving support due to my physical limitations, but I was informed that staff members are not allowed to leave the store. Instead, I was offered a trolley to transport items to the loading dock and return the trolley to the store.

The request was reasonable, but still not granted. Compared to other retail stores I've dealt with, most are happy to provide that excellent customer service experience, but not this store - Muji.

Based on my experience, it appears that customers are not the priority in their operations. Their focus seems to be on making money rather than prioritising customer satisfaction. This makes it unwise to do business with them. Additionally, most staff members lack essential customer service skills.

Quality of products are not as good, also in Australia they are overpriced. Have a look at the Singapore price, should be around 1 to 1, instead we pay more than double. Now they try to ‘correct’ that by having in on sales half priced.

Take forever to dispatch. Ridiculous minimum and maximum order requirements for big items but still take their time posting the item. And don't allow authority to leave so you have to haul this big butt item from the post office. Would not recommend at all.

My experience with Muji was an absolute nightmare, and I would not recommend them to anyone. The biggest issue I faced was the impossibility of getting in touch with them. The only way to contact them was through email, which I did repeatedly, yet I received no response for days, and when I finally did, it was a generic, unhelpful reply that… Read more

solved nothing. It's as though they deliberately avoid direct communication to avoid dealing with customer concerns.

Their lack of customer service is appalling. I had a serious issue that needed urgent attention, but instead of addressing it promptly, they left me hanging for weeks. Their entire approach is unethical and deeply unprofessional. They clearly have no interest in supporting their customers, and their "customer service" is just a front. Once they have your money, you are essentially ignored.

The quality of their service is just as bad, and it’s clear that Muji has no regard for transparency or accountability. They misrepresent their offerings, ignore complaints, and make it impossible to actually get any support. If you value your time and money, I strongly suggest you avoid this company at all costs. Their business practices are disgraceful, and they have shown zero ethical responsibility in how they operate...

No warranty on items that cost 100 – Poor quality product and no buyer protection. We were looking for a good quality bag for travel and after narrowing it down to a few choices, we decided to go with a MUJI Boston Bag. The marketing of MUJI product centres around quality and a minimalist aesthetic, so we decided to pay full price, thinking we would be getting a great product.… Read more

Unfortunately for us, the bag we bought shockingly failed within the first 24 hours. The shoulder strap's stitching was so poor that the only way to save it was to stitch it with some hotel sewing kit. When we got back to Australia to try and return it, we were given the cold shoulder by the staff. Only asked us to give our phone number so that we would leave the store with the promise that someone from management would call us back, alas at the time of posting this we have not heard anything. We were told that some of their products are expected to fail and that nobody else had made complaints so we're just stuck with our bad purchase, basically admitting that their products have the potential to fail and if they do then it's just bad luck on the buyer's part. I will be following this up with ACCC. I know there is a mandatory warranty for all products in Australia and MUJI has failed to offer it.

Disappointing Muji - first and last time – I am unhappy with the returns policy. Muji sent me two cushion covers that were bigger than the stated/ordered size, plus two cushion inserts that are skimpy and too small for the covers. It is not okay that I have to bear the cost of returning them. It is also not ok that they have not responded to the email that I sent 8 days ago, immediately… Read more

after receiving this product that is both the wrong size and sub-standard in quality - totally unusable.

Change of sizing – Very disappointed with their change in sizing from Japanese to Australian. Way too big now. They need to make an XXS. Hope they read reviews! Also, don't like the wider neck ribbing on their cotton t/shirts. Why change a good design to an average design?

Need improvement on refund and exchange policy – MUJI has good quality product range and loving the simplicity of the design. Recently, I found out that anything purchased online (except garmets range) cannot be exchange and refund in-store. Things bought online need to be exchange and refund online by shipping back the items, which is ridiculous. This policy taken off the convenience and ease… Read more

Ordered, paid for, no products received after 3 weeks – First purchase. Ordered products online, paid for, however no products received after 3 weeks, MUJI advised my order is still with their Couriers Please partners after I contacted them. I requested an update, no update given. I have now requested a full refund. Hopeless customer service - promises made, none kept. Won't be wasting my time here again. I will be listing with Dept Fair Trading complaints register next. Show details

What a Nightmare – I ordered some items during Boxing Day special online. 10 days later, I received an email from Muji stating one of the items was out of stock and I had been refunded. I quickly responded back that I no longer have access to the card I paid with and a refund is not a good idea and a replacement or a different method of refund such as store credit… Read more

is better. They replied that due to their lack of staffing, they had decided to do a straight refund.

After a couple delayed unsatisfactory responses, they have decided to not respond to my email anymore for TWO weeks.

Why should customer suffers for their lack of staffing and inefficient inventory management system.

Buyer's beware. Please stay away.

Love to visit – Good product range and quality products. Some of them feels little expensive, but some products are just irreplaceable in Sydney. Keen to visit everytime to see what new products have came.
