Stay out of this plumber at all cost – This company is an absolute disgrace. All they do is trying to scam/pressure you into accepting a very high fee when they got there. The plumber himself is very rude and unorganised. Did not even fix my plumbing issue and still want to charge me a full price. Then give me an additional quote to fix it for $6000, then I got another quote for $2000 (which later on did a heap better job than him)

Avoid this company – Kept me waiting for 6 hours, plumber was rude and misdiagnosed the issues (likely to overcharge). I complained and they tried to invoice me for a ‘call out fee’ for doing nothing.

Do not use this service - My Canberra Plumber – Extremely unreliable. They rescheduled 4 times over two days: last Friday 10-1pm, changed to Friday 2-4pm, rescheduled to Monday 8-10am (today) and now they texted to say they are running late and will be here at 12.30pm (which caused me to miss work over these two days). I have now cancelled my booking and will not be using them again.

Never ever use this fraudulent company – [Name Removed] (the liar) comes into your house and pretend to care. They take your money and never show up. They hang up their phone. The receptionist will pretend to lose reception. A bunch of liars taking money from people. You will lose your money!!!! Never use them. DON’T trust [Name Removed] the fraudulent salesman!!!!

Watch Out For Those Fridge Magnets! – My Canberra Plumber had us approve a quote based on misleading advice and for services that were never performed. We engaged another company who solved the problem quickly and easily. We contacted MCP to try to resolve the issue but they are disputing events and threatening legal action. We are taking them to the ACCC and encourage anyone they try to dupe to do the same.

Dodged a bullet by refusing their quote – Recent wet weather blocked a sump outside or garage and water backed up and into garage. plumber was on another call and might not make it till the next morning. Quoted $50 for callout fee, which I accepted. No show the next morning so I rang again at which time they told me 30 min. An hour later I received a call from the plumber asking if anyone was home as there was no answer at the door. He had the wrong address. Finally arrived, took one look and quoted $600 to 'attempt' to clear the blockage with high pressure hose. $300 per half hour thereafter! I am not aware of any services that charge $600 per hour for labour, PLUS gst! I told him to go away, and that afternoon I fixed the issue using my wet and dry vacuum which sucked out a heap of dirt and leaves over a couple of hours. Saved myself at least $1200. Should have read these reviews before calling them. Dodged a bullet.

checked the licence number on the ACT Govt Access Canberra site and it would appear to be the same company as Your Local Plumber which was fined $130,000 for engaging in misleading and deceptive conduct in 2019. Just be careful before using this company.******

After 12 months I just received a Letter of Demand (Lockdown $$$$ stress I assume) I welcome the opportunity to take the matter further, I will be contacting ACCC and any other regulatory authority to spread the word regarding MY CANBERRA PLUMBER.

asked if he could email it to me he said he'd have to come out again and get me to sign it. I wasn't after a cheap job, just a good job, so silly me took him at his word and I signed up on the spot and paid a deposit :( Some research after the fact left me very worried about what I had just done. Suffice to say my worries were well-founded. I had been told the work would be carried out within 10 days - it took six weeks for someone to finally arrive after a couple of follow-ups on my part. They call themselves My Canberra Plumber - they sent a sub-contractor from Wollongong to do the job. I had some concerns a few days after the work was completed and I tried for two weeks to get them to send someone out to have a look. I have now forwarded a complaint to Access Canberra. The moral of this story is do your research first!

Price gouging – I got their number from locally delivered fridge magnets. It was a very simply job - half an hour's labour, parts of no more than $50 total. They were 4 hours late and charged $385 for the job. Wont be using again.

was forced to leave a text message. I promptly received a phone call, to which, I was provided an ETA of about 30 minutes. A while later, the plumber arrived and reviewed the requirement, and provided a new quote for the repair of services. Unfortunately, this was considerably higher than the original value and I noted my displeasure with the change of agreement.

The work was carried out with precision and was completed after a period of about 15 minutes. The delivery was professional and met the expectations for repair. We briefly discussed the merits of a safety valve to terminate water services in an emergency, after which the plumber left for another job.

At no point was I provided with a breakdown of the estimated cost of service. As expected, I received an invoice a few weeks later, however, It was more than double that of the price agreed to in the approved verbal/written quotation.

After contacting the business, they responded poorly to my conflict and have since made no further attempts to manage my expectations for an agreeable resolution.

In my case, their quote did not include GST (as required by Australian consumer law), nor was a statement of work provided by the business on completion. When I received the Invoice, weeks later, it did not adequately describe the call-out fee, cost of labour, or any consumables used by the business to facilitate repairs. Avoid MyCanberra plumber at all costs!

24/7 Emergency Plumber In Name Only – I had a tap fall apart in my hand at 6pm on a Saturday evening; couldn't shut it off, water everywhere. I had the compounding issue of the water main valve failing as well, so I couldn't shut the water off to the house (thus making this a bit of an emergency). by 8.30pm. This time rolled by and I called again at 9.30pm. I couldn't get through to anyone this time but got a text saying they were running late and be there in "2 minutes". 10.30pm rolled by and they were point blank refusing to answer calls. I eventually got a call and a text from one of their contract plumbers saying they were trying to get someone to me that night, but that I'd probably have to use another plumber they recommended - next morning. In short, despite this being what I would consider to be a genuine after hours emergency, My Canberra Plumber made promises they couldn't keep, failed to communicate and keep me updated, failed to arrive at all that night and tried to fob me off until the next morning (which happened to be a public holiday, so no surprises there). My Canberra Plumber are 24/7 Emergency Plumbers only when it suits them and should not be used or trusted. Avoid at all costs, particularly if it's an actual emergency.

This company will rob you – Plumber was great but the actual business was designed to rob customers. I was very silly accept their quote, but invoice were very unclear. Designed to rip off.. 15 min of cleaning the drain charged $493. Never book them with again.

Dishonest Rogue Plumber in Canberra – This business effectively de frauded us around $3,000. They have a dishonest business model and I believe mey be the Plumbers recently fined $130,000 by the ACT Court. Please avoid them at all costs and simply contact the ACCC if they send Advertising to you or attempt to contact you in any way.

Be very careful with My Canberra Plumber – I was charged $1000 for a job that took 90 minutes. Four reschedules. No parts, just labour. Shame on me for accepting a quote based on such an inflexible and exorbitant pricing model. The plumber was great but he was a contractor. Great service at the start but that soon stopped.
