Navman MiVue700 Questions & Answers
VerifiedMy Navman MiVue 770 safety dash cam has suddenly started telling me I am too close to the car in front when there are no cars ahead of me and also saying I am drifting out of my lane when I am entirely within my lane. It keeps telling me every 30 seconds so it is really annoying and the only way to shut it up is to unplug it. I have tried turning off all the voice settings and volume to 0 level (which is no volume) but it does not automatically save the settings and everything reverts back to ON. Please help me as I am about to toss it out the window and run over it.

I recently got into a car crash and am trying to access footage from that day. However, i realised that my Navman only has footage from the previous two days. Even after downloading a footage recovery software, for some reason, there is no footage whatsoever from that specific day. Why is that the case? The emergency record did not activate either.

How do I set the dash cam to over ride old video to keep recording on a continuous loop all the time, I had an incident to review and the SD card was full of old video from when it was installed last year.
Hi Mark H, Thanks for reaching out to us! The dash cam should automatically over ride the old video when the allotted storage for normal/continuous recording has reached. While, incident/emergency footage is locked and can be found from the Even folder.

my mivue700 seems to have frozen on the Warning screen & I cannot turn it off any help would be great
Hi WHAT HAVE I DONE, We are so sorry to hear that you are having problems with your dash camera. The first thing we would suggest is to charge the device via in-car power/AC adapter for 30 mins or 1 hr via USB cable to your computer. Then while on charge, perform a hard reset to the device by poking the reset hole beside the barcode sticker.
Please also ensure that you are using a compatible memory card. Problems such as these could be caused by a faulty or incompatible memory. More information can be found here: external link
Hope this helps. Otherwise, feel free to contact our support team on PCNSupportAus@navman.com.au

My MIVUE700 will not hold the dates or time that I enter in to it. It keeps reverting back to 2017 dates. Also I cannot get any sound and it does not record over old footage but just stops recording anything new once the MicroSD card is full but there is no warning that this has occurred. Can you offer any advice please? David

Does pressing the event recording button save video from before the button is pressed? If so how long does it save prior to the button press? There is no mention in the user manual.
Hi TM,
Thank you for your question.
Upon testing this on our end, 15 secs before pressing the event recording button was saved.

Hi, My Navman plays only 5 minutes of a recording which is about 30 minutes long? When i play back the MP4 recordings some won't work because it is not supported? How do i get my Navman to record all travel? Thankyou Leeanne
Hi Leeanne, For continuous recording, the video clips will be divided into 1 min, 3 min or 5 min. However, the recording will not stop between video clips. If you wish to change the video clip length, go to Settings > Video Recording > Video Clip Length.

Hi, I’ve just put a Mivue700 in my car, & the 12v power socket in the car is not connected to the accessories, therefore has power to it even when the car is switched off. Is there any setting on the device that will allow it to stop recording & go into standby mode automatically when the car is parked, or will I need to either unplug it from the power source each time or switch it on & off manually, to stop it from recording when the car is parked at home overnight, etc?
I am looking at buying the ... Navman EZY400LMT 5" GPS Unit + MiVUE700 Dashcam Bundle. Can both be hardwired?
Hi Selenaj, We appreciate your interest in our products. To answer your question, yes, both units can be hardwired as long as you meet the voltage output required. Each unit needs a 5V/1A power adapter for them to work.
However, for the EZY400LMT, the traffic updates feature would not work as it must be plugged into power through the supplied Navman car power adapter. This adapter has a receiver antenna built in to it that allows the unit to receive live traffic information in real time, but must have a power supply in order to function.
For the MiVue700, you can buy and install a power box such as the MiVue Smart Box hardwired to your car’s battery. You may click one of the links below to purchase the MiVue Smart Box.

Do you have to have the 700 plugged in at all times for it to work?
Hi Mel, Certainly, the device is designed to function only when connected to a constant power source. The battery’s function is to allow the device time to save the last video file to the SD card in the event of the power supply being suddenly severed.

No matter how many times I tell mine to format the sdcard, it reverts back to telling me to do it. Am I doing it incorrectly? Or does this mean something is wrong with it?
Hi Alice, If the device is constantly asking to format SD card, this error is a fault with the card already. It is recommended to replace the SD card to prevent this issue from happening again. Please ensure you are using a Micro SD card designed for use in Dash Cameras such as SanDisk Endurance series, Samsung Pro Endurance or Kingston Canvass Go. Faulty or incompatible Micro SD cards can cause your device to not function correctly, may arise problems with the recorded files, freeze, and even cause the device to intermittently turn off or even not power on.

Hi
Im going to buy 1 navman Mivue700. And i have a MC SD micro 10 32GB. Can you tell me how long can i record with this MC in default setting?
Thanks
Hi Michael, A 32GB MicroSD card will be good for around 240mins of recording time (5hrs) once this is used up, the MiVUE700 will automatically record over the oldest recordings. please note; this does not include emergency/event recordings, which will reduce total recording time.
Thanks,
Senior Navman Support
Hello,
My Mivue700 does not appear to be looping (stops recording when MC is full), is there a setting that needs to changed?
Thanks Gary
Hi Gary, Thanks for posting your query. It might be the emergency recording. The emergency videos are automatically locked and will not be deleted once the memory is full. I suggest to backup your videos once a week.
