The product itself is great, but the customer service around issues (particularly exchange) is dismal. As the product is vacuum sealed, returning is a nightmare at your own cost to package. NeptuneBlanket don't have any phone contact number and despite promising to send a replacement, it took them 4 days to do this so I had no rug for over a week… Read more

due to their manufacturing issue. I tried following up on Instagram DM for more urgent support and was given an incorrect tracking number. Just rubbish service.

These things come with an absolutely massive tag on the side of them and if you unpack them to take the tag off the whole rug comes apart and they even confirms that that’s not part of their warranty. It’s like they personally want you to keep this big ugly tag hanging off the side I would never buy another one of these muscle mat is much nicer. Show details

I ordered a luxe mellow mat from Neptune Blanket for my daughters bedroom in beige. On the website 4 colour options are shown, blue, dark grey, light grey and beige (which is shown as a light pink colour). We ordered the beige and were accidentally sent the light grey. I contacted Neptune Blanket asking how we would rectify this issue, expecting… Read more

the offer of simply exchanging the mat for the correct colour. Instead they told me that I was wrong, that the mat I have received is beige and that the colours on the website can't be relied upon as an accurate representation of the actual mat. I followed up with 3 separate emails, and was told repeatedly that I was wrong, despite showing clear an obvious photos of the incorrect mat in her room. Eventually they told me that If I want a refund, I have to send the mat back to them at my own expense, in it's original packaging, which is impossible, and that only then they would decide if I would be eligible for a refund. No care at all, no after sales service. Beware if you are considering using this company if you actually want what you are ordering and paying for, as it seems they don't care if they send you the correct item or not. And good luck getting any customer service if you have a problem. You can see below the pics, the 4 colour options online, and the grey mat in my daughters room. She was excited to choose a mat for her room and she is really upset she is now stuck with the wrong colour. Neptune Blanket don't care at all. Don't give them your money! I wish I hadn't.

Surprising to see negative reviews. We absolutely love our mellow mat. It’s not the sort of thing you really want in your living room where you eat and drink. We have a dedicated space for our baby and we don’t wear shoes in the house. It’s incredibly soft, and it looks good. Ours arrived in two days. Very happy. Show details

My partner recently purchased the large pink Mellow Mat, and we’re both really disappointed. It was advertised as “easy to clean,” but that’s definitely not the case. We don’t wear shoes inside, and the mat gets vacuumed almost every day, yet within just a few weeks it already looks dirty and marked. When we contacted the company, the response… Read more

was that the mats are “stain resistant, not stain proof,” and they suggested using diluted cleaning products. For something that costs this much and is marketed as simple to maintain, that’s just not good enough.

If you’re considering the Mellow Mat for its easy-clean promise, think twice. It’s not worth the frustration.

I have had my mat for maybe 2 months now and I cannot complain. My son loves playing, relaxing, and even sleeping on it. He has messed it a few times and I used a baby wipe and cleaned it up easily. I have placed it under the couch regardless of it being a non-slip under and I won't lie, before moving it I did notice slight movement bit in all… Read more

honesty if non slip strips cant hold clothing in place then why would i put my faith in a rug lol

I would buy another 1 if I needed it.

This mat is marketed as “extremely stain resistant,” but despite using it in a shoes-off home with a newborn, vacuuming daily, and regular cleaning, it developed large dark stains within months that couldn’t be removed—even with professional steam cleaning. When I raised this with customer service, their response was dismissive and unhelpful. They… Read more

Absolutely stand out product !! It is gorgeous to walk or sit or lay down on while relaxing. You literally melt into it. It has become a focal point of my lounge and I have had so many positive comments about how divine it is to touch and underfoot.

Had the mellow mat cloud haven for 6 months now. Bought it on sale, it came in 2 days, has tolerated my baby and a heavy coffee table on it. Bought in a white colour and hasn’t stained yet. I was worried because of these reviews and heavy instagram advertising but felt better after seeing it at my friend’s place. I’m happy to say it’s been fine for now.

We bought this mat for our 4 and 2-year-old, and it’s been fantastic for their rough-and-tumble play. We placed it in front of the couch, and I’m pretty sure it’s saved us from quite a few bumped heads with how often they love jumping off the couch! We did run into an issue where the material started to separate from the foam in one spot. I… Read more

reached out to customer service, and they were incredibly responsive. After explaining the problem and confirming the mat was still under warranty, they immediately arranged to send us a replacement.

We were asked to send a photo showing a cut corner of the mat—presumably to prevent fraudulent claims, which seemed fair. A brand new mat arrived within the week.

Top marks for customer service - A+ experience!

After purchasing the mellow mat in 3x4m, and paying extra for express delivery, it arrived and was the total wrong colour. It was hard to see in the packaging so I opened it up and instead of dark grey it was cream. They told me to post it back. The post office refused to take it as it was too large (plus I’d spent about $45 on packaging for it!)… Read more

Customer service basically ignored me. I received zero response to my emails and when they did respond it wasn’t in response to what I’d even asked. They eventually sent me a pre paid courier note after 2 weeks of trying to get in touch (ps: zero contact number to speak to anyone!) I printed the courier note ready to get rid of their error however had received no further instruction, so rang the phone number on the printout, assuming it was the courier as there was a name. Turned out to be a completely bogus number and it never existed. Another 2 weeks of emails and finally a response to me requesting my money back was ‘we will write this one off and have will organise to send you the correct colour mat’. What was I going to do with 2 mats?

No one bothered to read my email. I was extremely frustrated, had repeatedly asked for a more senior person to speak to me, I asked repeatedly for a contact number- it was ridiculous. I eventually threatened to lodge a complaint with the consumer protection agency. I specified again that they made the mistake and they have had my money for over a month. Received an email this week to say I would be receiving a refund (which didn’t include the express shipping I paid) Absolutely shocking costumer service- DO NOT BOTHER WITH THIS COMPANY

Mellow Mat is indeed fabulous however, the company has not stood by the discount that they advertise. I had previously purchased a Mellow Mat and indeed think its great. One of the worst companies in existence. Avoid. Purchased an item and never arrived after weeks. Emailed and emailed and emailed and they refused to respond. parcel. I messaged and they played dumb asking for photos to prove it was only one. Then when I demanded they send the second they told me they cant because now, 6 weeks after I ordered, it was sold out. They said the best they can do is send me an inferior one, but offered no refund for the difference. I had to email and again and again to days and days of ignored emails for them to finally give me back the difference. Utterly disgraceful scam company.

SHAM COMPANY. This mat is offensive to look at. A cheap disposable product that has no way of cleaning and no way of returning. Due to the fact it is delivered shrink wrapped (need I say more) Australia post wouldn’t accept the size of the mat. Rendering anyone outside a capital city incapable of returning it. The customer service is by ‘Randy’ whom I can only assume is AI is discourteous. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY.

This is not a decorative mat! This is more like a gym /yoga training mat. Yes, I get it, is thick, but first of all, misleading photos is not anywhere near to what the photos show on looks or texture. The beige is no beige, it's almost white like Polar White. after about 4 days of unboxing the pattern is showing clearly but then again the photos… Read more

Extremely disappointed. After just 18 months, our rug has developed noticeable flat areas—completely unacceptable for the price we paid. A quality rug should last much longer. To make matters worse, the customer service has been unhelpful and dismissive. I would not recommend this company.

Love the softness and it definitely have saved a lot of injuries in the tiles with 3 boys. It looks nice in the space too. What I don’t like is that is constantly slips - it’s not at all non-slip which is annoying. But my biggest issue with it is how easily it marks and stains- it’s marketed as being able to wipe off anything spilled on it and… Read more

Listen to the reviews, I wish I did. This is a seriously dodgey company. Avoid at all costs. Yes, they claim to give you a 12 month… Read more

warranty, but when you try to initiate a warranty claim they ask you to “cut the mat so it is unusable” and send them a photo, and then you’re left to dispose of the huge piece of garbage wondering if they’ll ever send a replacement, which by the way is no longer covered under warranty. There is a whole Facebook group of people that have been through the same thing. Watch the news, that’s our next step. I don’t know how they are still allowed to trade. Total waste of time and money, have since replaced with muscle mat, as have my parents and sisters and we are much happier with the quality.

For a product that is marketed at children I have been disappointed by the quality and safety of this mat. My mat is not even 2 years old, and it started to pull in areas. It is in an area where there is no coffee table or heavy furniture on it, just where the children play and the amount that it has lifted/pulled has become a safety/trip hazard… Read more

for the children. The company were very response to my concerns however blew me off very quickly with their robotic responses, as if they use the same response day in and day out! Basically, they don't stand behind their product referring to the 12month warranty and not looking beyond that to ensure that their product is safe and of good quality, and most importantly that their customers are happy. If a company won't stand behind their own product, then enough said!

Disappointed with the Mellow Mat – Not Worth the Price I regret purchasing the Mellow Mat from Neptune Blanket. For the high price, I expected a quality product, but unfortunately, it fell far short of expectations. The mat absorbs liquids far too quickly — any small spill gets soaked up immediately, making it impractical for households with kids… Read more

On top of that, the thickness is not as advertised. It feels much thinner than described, and certainly doesn’t offer the plush comfort they promote.

To be honest, I’ve seen better quality mats at Kmart for a quarter of the price. Save your money — this product is overpriced and underwhelming.

Do not waste your money. This is really bad quality. I’ve had the mat over a month and the edges are curled inwards. The mat does not sit flat on the floor, it elevates above the ground along the perimeter and 10cm inwards. It is not stain resistant AT ALL, all small marks are there to stay. You can buy better quality for $60 at Kmart. I wish I’d read the reviews before buying. Deeply regret wasting my money on this cheap rubbish. Show details

Neptune sent me the wrong product then were very happy to hold my item ransom until I could lug a 10kg box at 38 weeks pregnant to the post office using my time, petrol and money. No compensation at all, management didnt care. Very happy for customers to spend their own money fixing their mistake. I have purchased neptune for about 5 years - never again. Show details

mellowmat & this new mat is much shorter by a huge distance. The mellow mat you have sent to me -372 length x 197cm width. The mat is meant to be a solid 2x4 with a huge difference of 28cm in length missing. I can understand the width just being off by 3cm but 28cm is not acceptable. The underlay is actually longer than the actual mellow mat itself . Despite the underlay also being shorter by 2cm as well. Not only is there size discrepancies, this mellow mat has creases all over it making it look like a spynx cat.

Stain resistant = PFAS – The website states that this is not toxic at all and since we are buying for our child this statement is really important. However if you read a little closer you’ll see there are no flame retardants, but it does say it’s highly stain resistant. There’s only one way to get something highly stain resistant and that’s through soaking it in PFAS -… Read more
