Nescafé Gold Original

Taste is variable over the last few years. I settled on drinking freeze dried coffee some years ago and moved from Blend 43 to Gold. It has been good. However I am now being priced out of the market with a 200g bottle of Gold costing about $23. The 400g refill in a bottle was discounted to $15-17 at Colesworth and is now discounted to $26. Arabica. I don't think I am able to state the brand name here or the name of the supermarket, however, it should be hard to find because it is one of our 2 main supermarkets. They have a new brand of coffee they are selling for $6 for a jar of 100% pure Arabica. On the label it says: Medium Roast, 100% Arabica instant coffee, Brazilian beans.

Value – So many complaints but honestly i absolutely love it. Coffee snobs look away now but i enjoy this as much as anything i get from a cafe and i get hundreds of coffees for the price of just a few cafe coffees. Bargain.

Great taste – I don’t drink instant coffee often, but when I do I drink this. Smooth taste and easy to use. Even add it to my morning protein shakes to wake me up. Not too shabby!

So Delicious – I'm a HUGE coffee fan and just love Nescafe Gold original. I love how they have different strength to choose from, I personally am not a fan of strong coffee so the original is just perfect and absolutely delicious ! I LOVE waking up to my morning coffee. Highly recommend !

Nescafe Smooth 5 – We do not like this new version of Nescafe Gold Smooth 5 it’s just so soft, nothing enjoyable about it. Please bring back your Original blend.

Horrendous – The taste is bitter metallic. It’s awful. I literally don’t want the jar I just brought. I’ve tried to drink it but after 3 cups I give up. I’d rather drink a cheap alternative. what happens when companies get greedy and cut costs of production and charge the consumer more money for a badly cheaper made product. Us really coffee drinkers know this. I won’t be buying again.

If it's not broken WHY FIX IT!!!!! – If it's not broke don't fix it!!!!! Original is exactly that, don't make it smoother, it is not then original!!! The flavour is boring!!!! if I could get info from Nescafé about the blend, only to find so many reviews unhappy with the taste. I am happy I have not imagined this change, but am so disappointed that I will need to find another brand now sadly. It was the best instant coffee for so many years.

It’s not good! – Also an Original drinker for decades. It was the best tasting instant coffee. You took all the flavour out. Just bought a huge jar of bland.

Define "Original" – A few years ago Nescafe Gold Original was 100% Arabica. Then they changed it to an Arabica/Robusta blend but it was still quite decent. Now they have made it "smooth" and it is pretty darn terrible. Certainly not "original" in any way shape or form. How about original stays original? Not a difficult concept. Make as many new products as you like but leave original alone.

Why why – Why change something that was good in the first place, the coffee is terrible now, i buy the big 400gr jar, for the price i pay for it i am really disappointed in it. WAS my favourite instant coffee – Have been drinking Original Nescafe Gold for decades. So disappointed when they made it "smooth". You have to use more to get some sort of flavour. Perhaps thought people would be buying more as going through it faster. But that has backfired as I will now be trying other brands for a better flavoured coffee and switching, so not purchasing at all. Was the best - now very bad – I used to love my Nescafe Gold, but when I bought a new jar a few weeks ago I got VERY dissapointed. It smells awful and the taste is not even close to as good as it was. I threw it out because I was sure it had gotten mouldy or gotten bad somehow. Taste has gone down the drain – I was an ardent fan of gold , not anymore. I think the person who changed the recipe should be sacked. I wish nestle goes bankrupt for taking customers on a ride. Absolute rubbish it’s been weakened down – My wife and I only drink Nescafé gold blend because of its strength and lately the coffee has got a lot weaker and it’s no where near the strength as before . Trust me we have only drunk this for 25 years and now we have to go elsewhere as it’s absolutely horrible . Please don’t think you can mess with it and expect us consumers to be fooled by your penny pinching and treat us like absolute idiots .

Bad Packaging – Hello, I'm a loyal customer. Still purchasing my Nescafe gold original although it become expensive, yet I feel it is worth when comes to a good coffee. The worst thing about it is the package, top cover cannot be tightly closed. I have broken two of it due to this issue. found that this experience has been shared by many. Fortunately, other sufferers suggested Coles Organic Fairtrade and I made the switch after throwing out my jar of foul Nescafe Gold “Original” and getting a credit back on an unused jar in the cupboard. Thank goodness there is an alternative, I can’t believe how long I put up with the other rubbish for. Tastes great, gentler on the stomach and less expensive. I recommend Coles Fairtrade Organic.
