I have owned one of these for just over 4 months during which I have not been home for approximately one month. I use it 1-2 times per day and no one else uses it. The milk frother has stopped working despite being cleaned regularly and halfway through a second cleaning cycle, the machine stopped working altogether. The orange cleaning light just continues flashing and the others including the power buttons no longer light up so the machine can’t be used at all now. The worst part of this is the very poor customer service I have received from DeLonghi. The woman on the phone didn’t ask me questions about how I use the machine, she told me it would last based on how I looked after it. A very defensive approach. She is wrong. I told her under the law and due to the major failure, actually two major failures in such a short time and the poor reviews I’ve read, I want a full refund. I don’t want to go through this again as I have no doubt I will. Despite my repeated requests for a refund, she continued to insist the unit would be repaired and a refund was not an option. So I clearly reiterated under the law what my rights are and they finally agreed to advise me of their assessment prior to repairing it. I was told a courier would collect the unit today but they never came. DeLonghi insisted the courier had been but this is a lie. I work from home and my office looks onto the front porch where the parcel is still sitting. Don’t buy this flimsy machine! I’ve also been told the assessment process could take up to 30 days! DeLonghi’s service is not worth the trouble. They don’t care one bit. I will proceed with a full refund and then buy a Creatista by Breville. I have read these are far superior to the Delonghi units as they have steel componentry whereas DeLonghi uses plastic, the technology is more robust and the milk container self clears after each use while Delonghis can never be fully cleaned due to design flaws.
Follow-up · The frother was cleaned regularly with detergent and water. The machine didn't turn on at one point which was when I asked for a refund. The DeLonghi machine was eventually returned to DeLonghi and I was finally given a refund but only after Appliances Online went to bat for me. I now have a Breville machine which is indeed FAR superior.

Worst coffee machine ever. Have returned mine 3 times due to milk frother not working, or coffee not working. Rang Nespresso as I needed to descale and now not working at all. Just is stuck in descaling mode.

Good Coffee, Easy to Use – This machine makes good, hot coffee simply. The instructions lack detail and you have to run the machine manually, but it has an integrated milk frother that works well. The process is: Pour milk into the frother, activate the milk delivery and when you have the required amount of milk in the cup, press the milk button again to stop the pour. If you don't stop the milk, it will keep pouring until the container is empty. However, this allows you to make an espresso macchiato or a cappuccino by stopping the milk froth when you have the correct amount of froth for your taste. For a latte macchiato, start the milk, stop it when you wish, press the coffee button for as much coffee as you want, then press the milk button to top up the milk froth. The milk frother is not adjustable so a flat white is not possible. You can adjust the amount of coffee delivered but not the amount of milk. I don't find this to be a problem because I use the machine manually and stop the coffee or milk pour when I choose.
The machine seems to be well designed, robust and easy to clean, and it's reasonably priced. If it continues to work reliably, I will be very pleased.
Nespresso Latissma One Coffee Machine strong chemical, plastic smell and the water and coffee tastes like this – The new Nespresso Latissma One machine makes us unwell when we try to drink the coffee. The machine and the water it produces and inside the machine under the lever has a strong chemical, fumigation, pesticide, plastic smell and the water and coffee tastes like this. We have tried running the lungo shots through repeatedly just with water and also following the descaling instructions. This has not fixed the problem, in fact the more hot water that passes thorugh the machine the stronger and worse the smell and taste. We can't use this machine.

Poor design and now failed – Bought this machine less than 2 years ago. In recent months it has been “spitting” milk. The frother attachment quite often comes loose and is a pain to clean. Quite a bit of used water ends up in the catchment tray and the design of the base makes it also difficult to clean. For a red dot design I am disappointed. Then tonight I received an electric shock when touching one of the buttons. So have cut the cord off and will dispose.
