Doesn’t even deserve one star. Paid for Ness D8 XCEL 4G with touch screen keypad and pet aware PIR sensors. My dog was a 9kg Cavalier King Charles so way under the 20kg limit. It was constantly being set off by my elderly small dog. After calling installer back multiple times, he eventually turned down the sensitivity to such an extent that the alarm wouldn’t go off for up to 3 minutes after I entered. When I called him back he tried to convince me it was working properly by having us both, side by side, walk in to see if the blue light went on. I am 65k and he is a very hefty guy. That is not a very adequate test and most burglars could easily get through. And still, my small wee dog set the alarm off. Ended up not using it as it was causing so much stress to me and the neighbours. twice had to have the battery replaced as it was showing as faulty.It has never worked properly. Now 2 years on, after my dog passed away, can’t even get it to turn on . Piece of absolute rubbish. I note the PIRs are no longer used by Ness but did they contact me for a recall??? Absolutely not. I complained multiple times and they just ignored me.The installer, [Name Removed], recommended by Ness was lackadaisical in the extreme and it would seem deliberately misled me on a number of matters.
Follow-up · Can’t even get the alarm to go on which should have nothing to do with battery when connected to power supply. Complete lemon. Get txt when power goes off so it’s communicating that but apart from that it’s a useless piece of rubbish…. Ness are you there? You should hold your head in shame the way you ignored me…
If I could give 0 stars I would. They refused to cancel my deceased parent's direct debit and asked for information I couldn't provide, then hung up on me. Don't give these crooks your money. You won't get it back.
Hello Chando, We responded on the review you left on Google, and payment had already ceased and SIM cancelled. Please be advised, our WA branch could not assist directly. Sim cancellations can be done directly on our Sim website and in your particular and respectful situation, our HELP tab is open to yourself and all customers, given we are dealing with security products. We take all feedback seriously; however the call was ended as we do not tolerate verbal abuse or expletives directed at our employees. We have an understandable responsibility to maintain a safe and respectful workplace.
Your facts are wrong. Payment ceased because I cancelled the direct debit at the bank on the same day I spoke with your team. I called your team member unprofessional and I expressed disgust at their response. Not only is your business unprofessional. It is dishonest. Own it.
4G Dialler Upgrade – The 4G Dialler this company provides to enable their Alarm system to dial out has been made incompatible with Telstra 4G network (still works with Optus and Vodafone still) due to the forthcoming 3G shutdown. They have a firmware upgrade which fixes this fault in their Dialler, however do not give it out to enable a simple upgrade to occur. They want you to disassemble the Dialler from your installation and take it into their Office so they can do it. A simple upgrade, which for a Computer Technician, which I am and explained this to them, is extremely simple. Will not buy another product from a Company that demands you pull apart an installed system to remove a component, which can be easily upgraded in place with a USB data cable and a Laptop.

security ?what security – a nightmare , after contacting 18 firms in brisbane to intall the system, no one is interested to do the job, one did look at it and vanished as fast as he can, [ well the installation manual is over 100 pages?] another one on phone want $2000 [ labour only parts supplied] and no sure if the system will work. item returned where it came from ,

POOR CUSTOMER SUPPORT – Recently bought Ness Alarm D8 Excel 4G panel.and got installed the 4g Telstra SIM came defective on arrival. alarm panel flagged cellular failed.then I removed sim and inserted a new sim onto panel works fine.after searching on internet found some one said to test sim if it works try it on another device so I put the ness/telstra sim on to a modem to see if it work but nil help.then contacted Ness support team and explained, they saying that as I have entered it to another device is the reason for the fault and they say panel may have to change. I have explained to them that's how it was on arrival and why would I insert if its working fine? in fact panel working with out an issue with my Optus sim. they just un-helpful and never offered trouble shooting or replacement of sim, they saying its my fault that I put it in a another device ..... Ness team...Please tell me why would I put it in another device if its working properly?????? they wants technician to come over but they don't understand technician not going to come an do email conversations with them..its not practical..!! Byers please be ware if you are expecting any help from Ness Sim activation team...FORGET IT...!!! my experience was unpleasant they just simply charged money for sim activation but they didn't. its a rip off...Im an unhappy customer.
