Really, really poor chat-bot service
Online store'James' is easily the least helpful chat-bot I have ever experienced. An arrogant belief that he was right even though he absolutely wasn't. Update your AI software, don't model it on an entitled millennial.

Physical storeMy initial enquiry was by phone and the response from Brett enticed me to attend the store and discuss his product recommendation to resolve my internet extension issue. I bought the power line adapters he recommended - and we had instant success when we installed the adapters on my return to the residence.

Online storeWhile this is still in process, I am being denied warranty replacement on an intel laptop as I bought it second hand on ebay. They are the original seller and refuse to give an appropriate remedy. While they have suggested I send the laptop back they have said they may refund the original purchaser if there is no replacement. They have stated they do not have a replacement model.
If they refund the seller then I am out of a laptop and out of my money. They do not offer an appropriate alternative. Risk sending the laptop at my expense only to

As if I am not going to be looking at my options! I am now looking at legal remedies and will go through the regulator. I cannot say my experience will dictate future expectations but I can say that anything purchased second hand that originated from this store may face difficulties with warranty claims despite statutory rights as a consumer.I have explained to you my situation - I have bought the laptop second hand and a refund to the seller would leave me without the laptop and without the money. Major issues with warranties
Physical storePurchased two Samsung SSD drives from computer alliance. After a few years the drives had issues and so I went back for warranty. Computer alliance said, ah yes, common issue with this model, bring them in. Got there and they scanned the drives and said the serial numbers on the drives werent in their system and refused warranty. I have never brought any other M2 SSD's so I am 100% sure I have not accidently purchased these drives elsewhere. I had a receipt and the original packaging. They didnt care.
Went to Samsung to claim the warra
... Read morenty instead and computer alliance had recorded an incorrect part number on the receipt (one digit difference in the model), so Samsung wouldnt accept the warranty claim either. Wasted so much time back and forth with computer alliance and samsung trying to resolve. Eventually was able to get it sorted by editing the receipt. Computer alliance made an error when they sold me the drives and then blocked me from claiming warranty because of that. Wanted to share this in case others have this same experience. I had purchased from computer alliance many times over many years but will never go back after that bad experience.Hi,

Computer AllianceI went to Computer Alliance to buy a laptop for my Yr 9 son. Looking for a unit that was fit for purpose but that would also last until at least Yr 12. I toyed with going to one of the big majors but knew I'd waste at least an hour trying to flag down a salesperson and then it'd be questionable as to whether I'd get anyone with tech knowledge. Walked into Computer Alliance at 6pm on a Thursday night with a fair idea of what I wanted. Through the door, straight to a sales guy who showed me what I asked for, as well as one option up and one option down. Answered all my questions and 20 minutes later I was driving home with a new laptop. Hands down the best decision both from a technical perspective and timeliness perspective.
Horrible Customer Service
Physical storeBought a laptop from them and the display stopped working completely at 2 years.
Called them up as their website states that they will service devices years after it has been purchased or sometimes to the lifetime of the product as part of their servicing.
Was told that even though the laptop was thousands of dollars, they would not repair this or look at it without me paying for it despite what their website said.
I have bought 2 laptops from them in the past and both have stopped working barely outside of the service period. This time I thought I would see what they have to offer and they could do no more then me enquiring through another service
Great Motherboard
Online storeBought an MSI MPG B650 Edge Wifi motherboard from from Computer Alliance. Happy with the price, features and prompt delivery.

Physical storeRecently purchased my third computer at this store in 10 years. Great product range and salesperson, Nick Groves listened to what I used the computer for and what I needed - a computer used at home and when I travelled overseas. Something strong, but also lightweight with the latest technology as my old computer had windows 10 with a failing battery (it was old!). Nick showed me some products and I loved the new MSI laptop with its 13" screen and its features, particularly how light it was. Said I would think about it, and Nick emailed me

I read all the reviews online, emailed Nick some questions out of this and he called me to discuss. Then purchased the notebook. What I like about this store is that it has been there forever, they have a good product range, staff are friendly and as a not super computer literate person they don't talk down to you and don't pressure you to buy. Have only had the computer for a week, but very happy with its performance, ease of use and initial set up.Find out how Computer Alliance compares to other Electronics & Computing Shops

Great range of products and good service
Physical storeI found the staff at the store to be very helpful and knowledgeable about their products. I purchased a laptop, printer and software. I had an issue with the printer, took it back and it was immediately replaced. The store had a wide range of products. What I wanted wasn't on display but Nicholas was able to show me the products on screen and give me advice in relation to the price range I wanted and my useage. I am very happy with everything I purchased. They did not have the replacement printer in stock but were able to offer me alternat

I would highly recommend this store for the products and advice, as well as the after sales service. I was able to drop the faulty printer off and get over the counter advice on a weekend.Great service and no "upselling" - simply found out what I needed and provided it
Physical storeAs a "technological nong" I wasn't sure what I needed. They did not try to sell me something I did not need - gave me an option of a cheaper version and even said that my current device could be reprogrammed. I purchased a new one as it would be quicker. I have installed the repeater and it works as it should.
I looked online first and had a bit of an idea what was required. Searching the site was simple.
Customer service unreasonable
Online storeI was in the market for a new top of the range GPU. Found one I liked and thought I was getting a new product, the only thing their listing mentioned was 'clearance open stock'. No elaboration or any detail past that. But I was otherwise ok to get a product that had the box opened for inspection as you would expect. But when I got it, this was in used condition. It was missing pieces and accessories from the box, had dust in the vents and fingerprints all over it and printed text rubbed off the GPU, everything was thrown in the box, was suppose
... Read more to come with a promotional game as marketed all over the listing - nope. When I looked at the invoice in the box, it mentions the product as 'SOILED PRODUCT' "Inspection on request". None of these were on the original listing that I tried to find after the fact. I brought it up with them and they said there's "nothing wrong with the GPU", "it's not damaged"," we're sorry you didn't read the heading properly" "You can return it but we're charging a restocking fee" and no comment about the game when I mentioned it. It's a $1350 GPU brand new from them, and I paid $1300 for an opened one. What I paid against what I received was completely unexpected and a completely acceptable reason for a return in their return policy. I was also happy to exchange it for a brand new one and pay the difference, or receive a little extra compensation as it's still what I want, but because it's an open product (that someone else opened) they didn't want to help in any way. Sure there’s ’nothing wrong with it’ but it’s completely dishonest, very misleading and they really try their best to avoid returns.Find out how Computer Alliance compares to other Electronics & Computing Shops

Horrible process to make a warranty on a faulty product they sold to me
Physical storeAbsolutely atrocious service every time I come to this store “it is always there is nothing we can do too bad too sorry” whenever it comes to trying to claim items under warranty that fail within 6 months. I bought a cougar poseidon gt 360 water cooler off them 6 months ago and one of the fans has seized, they want to send the entire unit away for warranty instead of simply replacing the item there and then like every other store does, living me without a work computer for THREE WEEKS. Did not offer any temporary solutions, clearly didn’t want
... Read moreto process a warranty like every other store does. Clearly the item is faulty as the fan has completely stopped spinning after making horrible grinding sounds. Avoid this store and shop elsewhere. The young guy working at the repair desk has a bullshit customer service attitude and is not willing to help out a customer well within their right to get a warranty done hassle free (like literally everywhere else).Excellent product and excellent service
Physical storeI'm crap with computers and know nothing about what I needed. I wanted a basic screen to set up my home office to connect my laptop to. Zak asked me very basic questions, which I did not know the answer to, and he was so friendly and knowledgeable while he was helping me make a decision on what to get. He showed me my options available and made suggestions based on my usage. I'm thinking of getting the same screen again and will be going back into the Computer Alliance store in Mount Gravatt to purchase it. Thank you Zak!

HI can you build a computer for me in a silver Jonsbo v11 mini tower case with win 11 pro using all components selected by you not for gaming just as a basic simple computer for home use thank you appreciate your response and the cost for doing it.
Hey, I was wondering what the average time it would take a package to ship to Melbourne, or if there was a way to see estimated time. Ty
We try to ship on the same or next business day from when you order by Parcelpost (to a residential address), or Startrack (to a commercial address). Commercial deliveries to Melbourne addresses are taking 2 to 5 days.
If we're sending to a residential address, then we're finding that stuff is quite fast to get to the local distribution centre (so it doesn't seem to matter much where its coming from) but is taking a long time between the local distribution centre and the final address. Australia post is still slow from the lockdown... It will take at least a week, probably 10 days and maybe more. Things are now improving since lockdown has ended.
If I were to buy a motherboard to pick up, how would I ask them to do a BIOS software update? Do I call them after I make the purchase or is there an option on the website?
Ring through to Sales and order the mainboard for pickup, they will organize the BIOS update for you and call when completed
