No problems – Bought a separate modem and router when we got NBN through Aussie Broadband. This was the new modem part - there weren't a lot of choices of modems-only and this seemed the best value. It was ok to set up, and has been running faultlessly in the corner for a year or two since. I'm a fairly normal moderate user, so don't give it any particularly… Read more

technical demands, and it works fine with the router I attached. No complaints, hardly remember it's there, just as it should be.

Excellent VDSL2 capable modem – I've implemented a few of these Netgear DM200 modems, some in domestic situations but generally in commercial premises where FTTN NBN Services are implemented. They are very well priced and have proven stable and reliable. Like most, I use the DM200 for it's ability to act as a fully bridged modem without WIFI etc.. I want this device to perform… Read more

a very simple function and do not want the other features.. Once setup in a full bridge the modem is transparent therefore your connected firewall is now exposed to the internet. The DM200 uses the Lantastic chipset. The Lantastic chipset is often considered the poor cousin to the Broadcomm chipset but this is not entirely correct. I do agree the Broadcomm chipset can attain marginally better sync speeds on lines with higher background noise but my experience has shown the differences are negligible. The DM200 is very flexible and is capable of dealing with all conventional DSL standards from ADSL to VDSL2 with a theoretical capability of 100Mb/s

*Tip.. Use a good firewall *Tip.. Most complaints I read about relating to enabling Bridge mode (modem Only Mode). You need to remember NBN register the MAC of your modem when you first connect. If the MAC changes the connection is disabled. When you enable Bridge mode the MAC of your firewall which is connected to the Ethernet port of the DM200 is now exposed and therefore it's MAC address is now passed to the NBN service. Some ISP's allow you to reset the service to MAC relationship (Aussie Broadband) where most do not.. Therefore you must call them and sit on the phone for an hour or 2 for them to make a 2 second change.

*Tip.. Choose an appropriate service provider..

Easy to setup – Update. I can't get it to work with NBN FTTC, I tried to use it after a lightning strike took our my NBN NCD box, but couldn't get it to work. Original review: The short and sweet, it was way to set up and has worked flawlessly so far with no drops. It took less than 5 minutes to set up. The negatives, no VPN function, but it is essentially a… Read more

cheap router without wireless. The web interface is a little slow.

Lots of bad reviews, as people can't access the Web interface to setup it up, this is probably because you need to reset your ip addresses a widows issue, not the device!. Use command prompt ipconfig to check and ipconfig /Renew if your LAN IP is not 192.168.5.#.

Does it's job – I am not great with computers etc, so I was hoping for a "plug and play" router/modem but that isn't what I got. That being said once I got it set up it was fine didn't have any issues with it. Bit on the pricey side, there's cheaper out there that will do just as good

Doesn't seem to work very well with NBN – It just disconnect from the NBN, I checked with Aussie Broadband my ISP and according to their test it's nothing wrong with the connection and yet I still loose the connection. Not impressed with this unit. Show details

Excellent Modem – Replaced the standard Telstra modem with this Netgear DM200 and a couple of TP-Link WiFi APs. Couldn't be happier with the performance. ADSL sync speed is 4Mbit faster than the Telstra modem and it is rock solid reliable. Speedtest ping as well as download speed is significantly improved with this modem.  Show details

Unusable in bridge mode – Bought to bridge to wifi router with new nbn connection. Set up is easy enough but bridge mode does not work properly. Traffic is restricted to app style programs such as netflix or stan on android boxes, smart tv or dvd players. It is not truly transparent in its bridge mode. If you just want a modem to connect via ethernet cable to a computer it works just fine.  Show details

Not suitable for bridged mode – Purchased to act as a modem only however in bridged mode it blocked streaming video sites such as Netflix and Stan with no means to rectify. Set as a modem router it disabled my wireless router functionality so no, would not recommend this and no, i was not the only buyer who experienced this. Basically does not function as advertised.  Show details
