Netgear Orbi 4GX Router with Satellite LBK1220

Not good for WFH – Will drop out when undertaking data intensive functions such as online meetings and "always online" software, forcing you to tether off of your mobile. You can't cancel the contract either as you have to pay out for the now useless device.

Worked for 6 months then died – Was great while it lasted. I live in rural NSW and we get internet via our one and only 4GX tower 7km's away. When this was paired with a Blackhawk antenna it was fantastic but that only lasted 6 months. About 6 weeks ago it started dropping signal every 3 hour progressing to 3 weeks ago dropping out every 15 minutes. I purchased the unit from Telstra. The unit is still under warranty. Telstra have been very hard to get through to and when you do they don't do as they say they will ie. call back the next day, raise it to Level 2 etc etc. Finally after multiple calls, being on the phone for several hours and then using my holiday in Sydney to visit firstly a retail store which a Level 2 tech told me to do and then being turned away and told to go to a Telstra Business Centre. They can't get a replacement and won't offer anything equivalent without wanting a lot more money. So it may be a refund but then what? This has been a short lived product with very poor service.
Purchased in for $399.

Half the cost and twice the performance of satellite internet in rural location – My Ookla speeds have doubled since replacing satellite internet with mobile broadband, I am amazed at the range and speeds obtained with this unit, its as good as city broadband, Telstra have nailed it for rural customers, with satellite I couldnt get reception on my back porch, with this unit no problems, i was paying $160 month we are heavy users, for the ridiculous on and off peak rubbish, with this one its $75 month for 400 gigs, I am thrilled, congrats to Telstra for this great router with satellite and excellent $75 monthly cost.
