A big improvement over the old Juke
The new Juke does a great job at feeling premium, even in this price range. You’re not going to find anything glaringly cheap on the exterior. Nissan have done a decent job at presenting the Juke with minimal panel gaps, and an overall fit and finish that is impressive for a car at this price.
Move under the bonnet of the Juke, and you’ll find a down-pillow equivalent of sound deadening, helping prevent intrusive engine noise overwhelm the driving experience.
It’s fair to say Nissan have done their due diligence in ensuring the Juke is b... Read more
uilt to a high quality standard. I did however notice that the leather boot around the gear selector had a small tear in it, around 2cm across. Hopefully this was an accident from a previous reviewer rather than being poor build quality. The Juke ST-L is priced at $36,490, and has a few features that go a fair way to help justify this price. These features include a turbocharged motor, dual clutch transmission, drive modes, partial leather interior, 360 degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, heated front seats, keyless entry/start and an 8-inch full-colour touch screen media display. There was one point with this car; is 84kW and 180Nm sufficient power when spending nearly $37,000? The simple answer is yes, it’ll do. When you purchase a new Juke, you receive a 5 year/unlimited kilometre warranty, with 5 years of roadside assistance and capped price servicing included with your purchase. Driving around town in the Juke offered an isolating experience from the road and any outside noise, nice and quiet for the commute. Mechanical noise is heavily reduced thanks to the large amounts of sound deadening found under the bonnet. However, when you need to press down on the accelerator to squeeze some power out of the Juke, you will get some engine noise bleeding into the cabin. Playing podcasts, music and radio was as expected, although if you’re a fan of bass, you might find the Juke will rattle a bit. The new Juke weighs in at just over 1,200kg, which isn’t a lot of weight to bring to a stop, compared to other CUVs and even some other hatchbacks. The Juke is fitted with autonomous emergency braking with cyclist and pedestrian detection too. It should be noted from ANCAP’s own tests, the Juke did avoid all instances of being involved in a collision with cars, pedestrians and cyclists, except at night, with a pedestrian. So just be a bit careful at night, in areas where you might encounter a pedestrian crossing your path. Paired to this particular motor was a 7 speed dual clutch transmission (DCT), which was quite a surprise as I was expecting the likes of a CVT (especially in a Nissan). Getting off the line and driving around town is a little painful thanks to the nature of this dual-clutch transmission and the Juke possessing a turbocharged motor. Moving from 0 to 10km/h can often result in a lurch if you need to lift off the accelerator, making your passengers think one of two things: You’re a bad driver (a little embarrassing) or you’re trying to drive this like a sports car in traffic, and it’s making them want to vomit. Once you’re up to speed in urban areas, the DCT is a lot smoother and does a great job of jumping between gears without moving the car around. There are a few tests that suggest the new Juke will accelerate to 100km/h in around 10 seconds, which is acceptable for a front-wheel drive CUV in this price range. The claimed fuel consumption of the Juke is 5.8L/100km (claimed), which is pretty good for a CUV. What did I average during my week with the Juke? Around 7.2L/100km, with a nice mix of urban and long stretches of highway driving. While on the highway, I saw my average drop to 5.9L/100km, when driving through country roads and some elevated roads. Around town, the Juke can make sharp turns with no complaints and complete u-turns in an 11m diameter circle, tight enough to avoid most three-point turn scenarios. The Juke offers a fun driving experience for a compact SUV, but it's not going to out perform something more performance-oriented like a Kona N. I really think Nissan have done an excellent job designing this new interior. The Juke ST-L trims the dash with stitched leather, which is a nice touch, and really lifts this interior to where I’m sure the designers intended it to be. Yes, they did have to stick a touch-screen right on top of the dash, but it doesn’t impede your vision out of the cabin. Moving over to the driver’s gauges, I thought the implementation of a digital display between two analogue gauges worked really well. The responsiveness of both this driver’s display and the centre display was seriously impressive, making it seamless to interact with rather than being a laggy chore. The new Juke has a boot capacity of 422L with the rear seats up - a decently sized boot. Fold those rear seats down in a 60:40 split (to reveal 1305L of boot space), and you’re going to again be presented with another large drop, between the rear of the seats and the boot itself. Forget about seamlessly sliding cargo in the boot, the boot floor is just too uneven. This is certainly a top 3 contender for small CUV’s if you’re looking for a stylish, roomy and safe daily driver. *Disclaimer - I work for ProductReview as their independent car and motorbike expert. Nissan's most entertaining SUV
I was excited to see what Nissan had done to make the new Juke feel ‘top of the range’ with the Ti.This time it was really about assessing what features you received when you paid $39,490 drive-away for the Ti; a whole $3,000 more than the ST-L.
This Juke Ti is identical to the middle-of-the-range ST-L, except for a few additional standard options.
First, we have these 19” Akari design alloy wheels, which are dual tone and pair nicely with the shadow grey exterior.
There’s also tire pressure monitoring on the Ti, which can be helpful for... Read more
when you’re out on longer roadtrips. On the front there are ‘follow me home’ headlights, which remain on when you leave and lock your car at night, and delay turning completely off. Inside, there are illuminated ‘Juke’ branded kick plates on the door sill and black gloss plastic highlights on the centre console and door. There’s a Black Alcantara dashboard, knee pad, door panels and front armrest, with white piping. There are soft pad sun visors, and leather/Alcantara seats with JUKE branding embossed on the seats. The biggest interior change, apart from the Alcantara, is the BOSE audio system integrated not only through the cabin, but on the head rests of the seats. There are designed to look like both front seats are wearing a pair of headphones. Worth the audio upgrade? Sure! There’s a definite improvement with the BOSE system over the standard system, seeing as the audio is emanating from the headrests a lot closer to your ears than something you’d be used to before. The BOSE audio system goes a fair way to uplift the audio quality over your traditional, less desirable speakers found in other smaller compact SUVs. *Disclaimer - I work for ProductReview as their independent car and motorbike expert. Powerful compact AWD
I have had the 2018 1.6 turbo AWD model since 2019 and it has been very reliable for urban commuting and recreational trips camping, light off-roading and towing a small caravan. Its main attraction for my needs is economical urban use and ability to go away on recreational trips with ability to find light off-road locations and tow small caravan, which it does well with one of the most powerful and torque engines in it class and even among the medium size SUV segment using normal 2.4L petrol engines by other car brands. The cvt auto transmissi... Read moreon has a useful manual 7 speed select mode when driving and towing for added control and it’s towing max weight is 1150kg but lowish 75kg towball down weight that is much more than most small cars of similar length and size. I have installed a Spaccer wheel lift kit to give it 25mm more ground clearance equal to other medium SUVs for added light off-road ability. It’s been great small compact AWD SUV that keeps up with medium SUVs.Love my juke
I have a 70 plate new juke and love it, perfect around town also great on the open road it is the tekna so absolutely loaded with features such as heated seats heated screen all round camera system 19 inch alloys love the stylig it drives smooth and the gearbox is a doddle, very light clutch, it returns around 38 to the gallon around town but around 48 combined so pleased with that. Its fun to drive and looks great to boot with a very modern interior all round its a great looking nippy car highly recommended. Show detailsPerfect Machine - Everything And More
Received the keys to new Juke Ti. After months of research chose this vehicle for its safety and other features. Longer than normal servicing schedule compared to its rival. Vehicle is comfortable, easy to drive and quiet on the road. Many reviews stated it was noisy but I have not noticed this. Local Nissan dealer in my hometown of Hobart have looked after me thoroughly durning the whole purchase process. This is my daily driver to and from work. Brought for its safety and fuel, economy. I have not found the 1.0L engine lacking at all. If you are thinking of getting a small SUV seriously look at the new model Nissan Juke. I drive 25000 to 30000 k’s per year as I live in the country. I purchased the Juke because of its blend of funky styling and practical features. It has heaps of space for a small SUV. It’s engine is efficient, I regularly see figures of 6.5l for a mixture of urban and country driving. It handles well and I rarely find a lack of power from its three cylinder 1 litre engine. The stop start system can take some getting used to but generally works fine. It handles well and the radar cruise control works beautifully both in the city and on long coun... The cabin design is funky like the exterior, with comfortable seats and some nice leather touches. This car is both a joy to drive and fun to look at. I would highly recommend anyone to consider a Juke when looking at small SUV’s.Stay away from this car
Advised by Nissan that the Unit will not work with new Android phones after buying the car. The Nissan Connect app is discontinued also but they don't tell you when purchasing the car. The Nissan app has not been updated for android since 2017 and cannot be used on new phones.None of the Android Bluetooth features work properly and Nissans response is that it only supports phones made on or before 2017 even though the car is made in 2020. Nice small family car
I like my Juke, i only ever use the eco friendly setting as it saves fuel. I only ever use premium fuel and the most i have paid is $60 to fill. I haven't had any issues to date appart from having to remove the boot floor to fit my pram.Show details
Not Practical
Great car to start with however no good as a family car and trying to get a baby in and out of the back is a no go plus when you can not fit a pram and your shopping in the back.I have had issues with a gasic coming loose at the turbo intake and clutch is super warm after 2 yrs of driving. Also while using bluetooth people where unable to hear me over the notice of the car even the updated downloaded and the stereo was very low
Great car to drive when in the car yourself heaps to run

Not so practical for a baby/toddler
I love my Juke but it’s not the best as a family carShow details
Not as good as I thought
I was one of first to buy one, handles really well in sport mode, not so much in economy. Good fuel economy. Didn't have to spend much on mechanical running costs at all until I got to 120k. Now all of a sudden things are going wrong. At 3 years old I had to have the front and rear crank case gaskets replaced at a cost of over $2,500 and now 1 year later the air con condenser has blown up that is going to cost another $1000. And of course conveniently warranty has run out. Cannot wait to get rid of this thing. Things like this should not be happening to car that is 4 years old.Show details

Average car for the money
I have a Black Juke ST manual - purchased brand new from Von Bibra in 2014. As I found out later though - my "new car" was a 2013 model.I was attracted to the juke for its unique design. I love the look of the car - and for a single person, it's quite convenient with it's size. It has a good boot for a little car - and when the seats are laid down in the back - it has a surprising amount of storage. I had a towball fitted, so that I could put my bike on the back - however I discovered that I could actually fit my (road) bicycle in the back wi... Read more
th it's front wheel off. I notice that someone had mentioned the car's fuel efficiency... I was not so impressed with it in my car. I seem to average around 7.3L/100 km which is a bit more than the stated 6.0 i think they say in the booklets - and that's in the Normal mode. I'd hate to think what it would be if I drove it around in sports mode. At best - I would say 6.5 easy-going (eco) highway driving and no air-conditioning. I got the paint and car protection, however it appears that they didn't do the spoiler - and the evidence is extremely clear, as in less than three years, the paint has completely faded and worn. It looks TERRIBLE!!! In addition, the paint quality on the car in general is extremely poor and it scratches with even the smallest of brushes. There is areas under the bonnet that don't appear to have been sprayed. Bird poop on the roof (where I couldn't see) ate straight through the paint, down to metal. SO DISAPPOINTING! Especially as I had paint protection - which seemed to have done nothing in this case. I look after my car with washing and polishing on a regular basis - and have been really disappointed with this. Heat has been the other major issue with this car. Whilst my car is black (and I have heard that black cars are not good with heat), the heat in this particular car is phenomenal. The aircon is also not very strong (I drive toyota's, kia's and hyundai's at work - all of which far out do the Juke) and there is no aircon vents in the back seat. As I said above, it's not a bad little car for a single person - but not for people wanting to take other adults as passengers. the car has limited amount of power which worsens if you don't use a premium (98) fuel. The back seats are not easy for adults to get in to - and my parents (in their 60's) really struggle if I need to take them anywhere in my car. Overall - it's a cute little car, but probably not worth the money they ask for them and I'm not sure I'd go a Nissan again. I rate our Hyundai i30 as a better vehicle.Very good car. Have not got any problem with it. Good quality
The driving experience with the car is enjoyable. Some tiny issues with the GPS navigation as sometimes it says route calculation failed. Apart from that, overall, it is a good quality car.
The running cost is OK. Currently the petrol consumption per 100km is around 8.3 and the service fee is around $300.

Great car but gps cannot be updated on 2013 - 2015 models
Great, sporty car but really don,t appreciate having to stick a $100 tom tom on the dash. I think that when you pay quite a few extra dollars for this type of system then the manufacturer should have one that could be updated. Have replied to quite a few Nissan surveys highlighting this design fault but have yet to receive a response.sJanuary 5th 2018 Update: Don't top up the radiator
Should you need to top up the radiator only use water. I topped mine up using a radiator inhibitor, when I had my next service I was told what I had done was incorrect and an inhibitor contaminates the cooling system. I was charged over $300 to have the system flushed. Wouldn’t, have bothered but the vehicle is still under warranty.
