I regret buying this heater. It barely warms up even a small room, yet the exterior gets dangerously hot to the touch. The fan is loud and rattles constantly, making it impossible to sleep while it’s on.
Hi I bought a small expensive heater thinking I was getting quality WRONG DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY! The wheel fell off and it was put on by older Betta electrical staff. The metal at back is razor sharp and can cut your hands! Its heat is too hot for little unit. If on floor on roller’s dangers like I learnt the hard way. Singed my wooden floor when… Read more
wheel came off and almost burnt my foot in bathroom! Too back and got money back After being in shock at accident and have mark on floor to remind me! THIS PRODUCT IN MY VIEW DANGEROUS!
An expensive, useless heater – This was for a medium size bedroom ~4x3m. The heater didn't seem to be that warm. The issue I have, as a tech savvy bloke, is that the timer is difficult to set times, the instructions are poor; and it drops out for no particular reason. Controlling the heater - simply turning it on and off is ridiculous For an expensive heater $475 - purchased because of the heating block over the hot wire system and safety aspects, it is very disappointing.

Do not buy this model! – I already have a Noirot 1500w with screen and 1000w without screen for long more than 3 years and they work perfectly fine. Then 2 weeks ago we decided to buy another one for our guest room, then we went to HN and we saw that they have a new model which is Noirot 1000W Panel Heater with Timer & WiFi. We bought it straight away because we got a… Read more
very good deal. When we finished all the set up, the heater didn’t work, we couldn’t feel the heat at all even we turned it to Max. Then we went back to HN and let them tested it on the spot and of course it still didn’t work. Then we got a new same model but we didn’t test it on the spot because we were rushing so we just left. When we plugged in and finished the wifi set up then I didn’t work again even before and after the wifi setting. Same things happened and we had to go back to HN for the second time to exchange again. So second time the manager told us he would give us a same model but different manufactured date and batch. But this time we tested the new one on the spot, and it worked well. But after 4 days of using, it stopped working again. We had to go back for the third time and we didn’t want the same model anymore. We exchanged to a normal 1500w without screen and wifi. 3 times that we had to go back for the exchange. Obviously this new model is not stable, it has serious issue and it is faulty. Luckily this product has life time warranty (100 months on the receipt ). Do not buy this model (Noirot 1000W Panel Heater with Timer & WiFi.) unless if you don’t mind to keep going back to exchange.
Burnt plastic inside heater – Ive had this heater for about 4 years. Hardly used in an effort to keep the electricity. bill down, I figured the price and lifetime warranty would make this purchase worthwhile but noticed a foul smell when using the heater. On closer inspection i realised one of the brackets had melted and burnt inside the heater. Ive since stopped using it as it is unsafe and a fire hazard. Show details

Noirot 2kw panel heater – My reverse cycle heating failed, so I needed a temporary room heater until that was fixed. I saw this at a local shop. It had good reviews, so I bought one. Unboxing and assembly was simple. It was just the main unit, and the two bottom legs. There was a leaflet showing where to attach the legs, but the position shown was contradicted by the full… Read more
instruction manual, which I didn’t read until later. Whatever.
The unit looks fine from the front, but it’s really quite tinny, and has some sharp metal edges on the back. During assembly I cut my thumb and had to bandage it to stop it bleeding. If you’re a haemophiliac, I suggest you get someone else to assemble it for you :-)
Regarding the power cord:
- It’s fairly short, which could be a problem because the manual says to not use an extension cord. Not sure why. At the standard Australian supply of 240 volts, 2kW is only 8.3 amps, and I think that even a minimum rated extension cord, plug and socket is ok for 10 amps, right?
- The cord is attached to the back *top* of the unit, not the back bottom, which further reduces its reach if you want the whole cord to sit flat on the floor.
- The plug has only 2 pins, not 3, so I think the unit is not explicitly earthed. Not sure if that’s a safety issue?
Surprisingly, for an item that’s explicitly designed to get hot, there are no insulated handles to move it around! You’d expect at least, an insulated recess on each side. So you need to be careful where you grab it when you move it around.
I payed extra for the timer and wifi options, but haven’t used those yet.
Of course the most important question is whether it heats your room effectively. Initially I thought not, and planned to rate it down accordingly. But my room has very high ceilings, and it was very cold at the time. After using it for a while, I now feel that it’s not too bad.
In summary, it’s hard to rate this product. I do now feel that it heats my room effectively. But it was also quite expensive - nearly AUD$500 - is quite tinny, and has various ergonomic problems described above. I might have been better off with a $50 fan heater...
3 stars tops :-)
Overall a good heater – I bought two of these recently and they have performed well. After some of the smell is burnt off which is normal, they turn on and heat quickly and silently. While the timer is good in the sense that it allows plenty of adjustment i.e. up to three individual heating time per day. I did find that it is a little finicky as the instructions are… Read more
difficult to follow and the programming is not very user friendly. Also there is actually a firmware problem which doesn't display the correct time (to the next heating cycle) when it is after midnight. I rang Noirot and they all but admitted the fault existed but they don't know how to fix it and everything else it fine so don't worry. I didn't much like that approach, shipping something where they know an error exisits where it would no doubt be fixable with a firmware update. However in all other respects it seems good. We got 2x at a good price ($350 ea) and with the lifetime warranty and sooth operation it seems good.
Provides adequate heating with a lightweight and stylish design – PROS - Lightweight model that’s easy to move around within a room or from room to room as needed - Simple operation with a one touch on-off system - Sleek, slimline and modern design in white, means that’s it’s not obtrusive, and will blend in well with just about any setting - Heats up a bedroom in less than 5 mins provided that you keep… Read more
all doors and windows closed
- Easy to pack away into a cupboard and forget about till the next winter
- Unlimited lifetime warranty
CONS
- Tends to get very hot and requires a surge protection outlet to prevent it overheating. We switch it off after an hour or so, and let it cool down before switching it back on again.
- Like all heating appliances, this one also chews through plenty of electricity
- There is no hook or clip on which to tie the loose cord around when it comes time to pack it away after winter. Even when in use, with the cord hanging loose, it tends to look a bit unsightly.
SUMMARY
Overall, we’ve been happy with this heater and, having tried many others to keep warm, it’s about the best one so far.

A Cozy Companion for 9 Years: My Noirot Spot Plus Heater Love – "This heater is a cozy lifesaver for our family! We've been using it in our kids' rooms for 9 years now, and it's still going strong. The gentle heat is perfect for them, and we never worry about it being too harsh. However personally I don't recommend for large area or open space. Show details
Very happy with our Noirot - over 13 years – I think the people with negative reviews below have not understood the directions. We have used our Noirot for 13 years, and it works brilliantly. If it is not heating, then raise the selection dial to a higher number - you must have it set too low if you say it doesn't heat. It will reach the temperature, then turn itself on and off to maintain… Read more
it. You should feel heat coming out of it almost as soon as you turn it on. A friend in Tasmania finds it brilliant to heat her craft room - they of course have a wood burner to heat the main house area. Yes one of the wheels does come off - we now take more care moving it - no problems. We are very glad we bought this, and I use it in the office, as we now have reverese cycle air cons in the main house areas.
Absolutely love it! – We have had our Noirot since about 2014. We found it a bit difficult to operate, to begin with, but now it's a cinch. Heats our large rooms beautifully. I set it to about 21.5* overnight which is perfect to sleep comfortably. It is close to my bed and I have only heard a noise coming out of it once. One of the legs comes off occasionally which is annoying but I still really recommend this heater to anyone. Show details

Dreadful! – This heater is supposed to be 2400 watt. However, it drew far too much current when on, and tripped the circuit breaker every time. I tried different places in the house on different circuits. Same problem. So my expensive heater is totally useless. Worst appliance I have ever bought! Show details
Appalling customer experience- no lifetime warranty as they claim - false advertising – We purchased no less than 6 units back in 2009 and 2 have stopped working. Contacted the company directly (Olympia splendid - the Australian distributer) only to be met with patronising, sarcastic and unhelpful responses from Gregor telling me that he was well versed in consumer law (even providing the link) and refusing to honour their lifetime… Read more
warranty.
After reading many of the reviews I see that others have been met with the same poor service when the products fail. I’ve now contacted the manufacturer in France directly.

My electric bill is $735 because of this heater! – The heater itself is great. Warms up my place nicely. I’m hardly ever home as I work nights so the thing is only on a few hours but I was gob smacked at the bill! Definitely NOT energy efficient!!! Show details

4 heaters so far… – First time I bought this heater, I had to return it as there was a recall. (2022) Second time (June 2023) heater stopped heating after a week (it turns on though). I replaced it for another the one the same. Third time with the one I got as replacement, I was not able to set it up in my phone and the unit stopped heating again after 5 days (heater… Read more
turns on though) I tried one last time, got another replacement for the same brand/serie, after one day, stopped heating. (Unit on though) Now I am wondering if the issue is in my house or the heater. About to return it and get a another brand.
Stopped working after 2 weeks – While the heater heats the room well and is totally silent, it's stopped working after 2 weeks. Bought online so unable to return it to a store. I paid a lot of money for this heater and for it to stop working so soon after buying and in such cold weather is so annoying. I also bought it on Afterpay and I still haven't finished paying it off! I do not reccomend this product. Show details
You need a good brain to understand the setting – Very hard to memorise how to reset the timer especially I switch the main switch off each morning. The word is so small only magnifying glass will help. No degree Celsius on the board, just power 1 to 9, only the factory knows what number represent what degree Celsius! In this century and age this type of old school heater will become irrelevant in no time.
Terrible! Don't get it with the wifi timer – Terrible heater to set up and ensure that it works consistently. We had to install the app and then tried countless times to connect it to wifi and Bluetooth. After trying over 15 times and calling customer support we got it to connect. However it sometimes drops out from the wifi which is strange as we have a small house. Then when you think… Read more
you've got the timer working (through setting it up in the confusing app) it will just stop and go to away mode. So annoying to wake up in my babies room to 14 degrees and no heat! The temperature gauge is so bright and doesn't fade out.
The heater does heat a small area and provides a nice heat (when the timer works). Would i buy again? No. It's so expensive $500 plus and not worth the money! Disappointed!
Heater good - timer bad – Noirot continnues to have problems with the timer module on their heaters. Over the years we had two of the predecessors of this model fail on us, both time the timer module went kaput, while the heater itself was fine. Now bought this one, and the funky new LCD screen equipped timer/wifi module failed within two days, resulting in no heat… Read more
emanating from the heater. Seems the thermostat electronics gave in. Back to the shop, they tested, offered the floor model as replacement, tested that as well and found it to be broken, too! Pity really, when they work they are great, but whoever they source those electronics from has quality issues. Shop was good trying to help us, offering larger model which unfortunately doesn't work out size wise for us. Now reverting to the no-timer model, simpler technology, less opportunity to fail.
THE WHEELS KEEP FALLING OFF AND NOW THEY ARE BROKEN – The wheels just keep falling off even though my husband took great care to fit as per the instructions. Now they are broken and I cant use the heater without the wheels. And because it does not have handles, I cant just pick it up to pack it away in summer. Show details
Mediocre performance when it is cold outside in Tasmania – I’ve had this now about a month in the middle of winter My observations are that this seems to be weak during the day or when the ambient temperature outside is low. I’m not sure if it has some inbuilt circuit that cuts down heating during on peak periods (I have off peak currently set up). Another possibility is it simply takes many hours to… Read more
become effective, One thing is for sure - a 3 bar radiator from Bunnings for 30 dollars works more consistently and quickly. I am grateful the noirot took the edge off the chill but still found I could feel the cold in my shoes and under my trousers.
Woeful customer service & warranty without receipt – I have purchased 4 of these heaters in the past. One of my heaters had an electronic issue with heating element not turning on. Phoned customer service & explained my concern. Without a receipt they can't assist you. Explained that I have moved house and have no idea where it was or even kept! Contacted my local Harvey Norman store & they could… Read more
see the 3 others, being the 1500 watt, but not the faulty 2000 watt. Unfortunately, these franchised stores don't have a centralised data base. Customer service was rigid, uncompromising and no other solution was given to me. Surely, being a loyal customer I would have expected a more favourable response or outcome! I hear that this company has now been taken over this year, which may account for this behaviour?

Don't trust "Lifetime warranty" – Most of the consumers chose this brand because of "lifetime warranty", as we did. After only 7 years, it stopped working. We contacted manufacturer and "the goodguys" where we purchased. No one actually wanted to help out that 'lifetime warranty', they kept asking us if we have physical paperwork-receipt available and wouldn't honour the warranty… Read more
despite having it in their system. After coordinating a conversation with the manufacturer and the store and numerous hours waiting in store for this to be resolved while constantly being told there was nothing anyone could do, we were finally offered to have a replacement but not of the original model.
Great heater that heats the room very quickly – Very happy with our Noirot panel heaters. We purchased two 1500W and 1 larger 2000W. We use the smaller ones in bedrooms 2 and 3 and the larger one in oversized master bedroom. A friend has NOBO and she said it takes hours to heat her large bedroom. The Noirot heaters work extremely well and take the chill off the room within minutes. We also… Read more
like that you can acturally stand in front of it and feel warmth coming from the grills at front. We haven't had them long enough to see how efficient they are but hopefully they will be as stated in product description. Will be purchasing two more for 2 other rooms.
Doesn’t heat the room which is very small. Very disappointed. Paid $399 No warmth at all – We have a very small room and there hardly any warmth coming from the heater. Very disappointed especially for the cost of it. We are looking out for another heater to replace this one Wouldn’t recommend these. Show details
Expensive and ineffective – The heater never gets the room to the desired temperature. It’s more like an oil heater you need to stand net to it for warmth. Probably only good for a small bedroom if anything. Show details
Waste of money – The people reviewing this heater must be getting paid, what a waste of money, had to literally sit on top of it to get warm. Not satisfied with the way it heated up the room, waste of money Show details
NOIROT never misses a beat. Bought in 2009 – This heater is a gem. We bought three in 2009 and none of them have missed a beat since. We work from home and our house is a three bedroom open plan. These keep the temperature at our comfort of a constant 21 degrees Celsius all winter which we have found is efficient regarding electricity cost. You don't even know they are running until you go… Read more
outside and realise how cold it is. The best thing is no drafts from heated air blowing around the room or concentrated warm spots, just a subtle overall warmth. Excellent value. Compact slim design. Lightweight and easy to clean.
Simply the BEST! – Received my Noirot Spot Plus 2400W yesterday and used it immediately. Light weight and easy to move from room to room. I am impressed!! Heats the room up nicely and it is a comfortable heat. Better than my zoned Aircon! Show details
Using this outside in a large greenhouse (8m x 4m) and it's been going for 9 years – Using this outside in a large greenhouse (8m x 4m) and it's been going for 9 years. Great for our bigger master bedroom – We have three sizes of the Noirot. We use this 2400W for our master bedroom, which is considerably larger than our other rooms. So far it has been up to the job. energy usage on our Solar energy consumption app. That is, sometimes it only uses 1000W, and only goes up to 2400W when the room is really cold and the heater is just starting up. I suppose this automatic variable heating is how Noirot can be economical. Love the lifetime warranty too.
Perfect for our kid's room – We have a few different sizes of the Noirot Spot Plus. This 1000W is for our kid's room. We decided to pay the extra $40 to get the one with timer, not so much for the timer itself, but for the LCD screen which allows us to set the exact temperature. This is simple to use. No need to worry about different heat settings. Just set the desired temperature, and the thing does its work. Show details

This is a great heater – - Absolutely no noise due to the monobloc heating element. No expanding/contracting crack/noise. - Easy to use. Haven't yet used the timer setting due to the fact that it was easy enough to turn on and wait for a bit for the room to heat up. Room is about 10m2 so it is pretty quick to heat up. - Very happy with the purchase Show details
