thus is my all time favourite phone because it has a REAL full querty keyboard – NokiaE63 is my all time favourite phone because the NokiaE63 is blessed with a REAL full querty keyboard to reach what I need at the time. FAST, efficiently and is EXACTLY what I want and need from a phone. I love the small size of the Nokia E63 - it is not heavy and not almost BOOK SIZE like some phones I use my phone mainly for phone… Read more
calls, SMS messages sent and received via texting. I prefer to use a high quality camera rather than a phone for photos. I prefer using my laptop for internet as I can see a lot more detail on the bigger screen that a phone offers. My original all NEW Nokia E63 when they first arrived was the BEST phone I ever had but it gave up a few years ago. Then I tried two different (Not Nokia) "scroll, scroll, scroll across the screen other phones and hated all of them. Since then I have searched for second hand Nokia E63 and thus have had multiple refurbished NokiaE63 and ALL BECAUSE of the REAL querty keyboard - which, thankfully, is NOT "virtual" but is real. DO WISH any new phone developers would PLEASE issue a fully new 2022 phones with a REAL querty keyboard like the NokiaE63, and NO SCROLLING required to reach what I need at the time. Please all phone designers and developers - you may not mind a rubbish "virtual keyboard". Me ? I hate the virtual stuff and I hate the SCROLLING required to find things. DO WISH one innovative inventor phone developer would PLEASE issue 2022 phones with a REAL querty keyboard like the NokiaE63. I would walk barefoot over hot coals to buy one IF it could be developed please. PS to all APP developers: I hate APPS and do NOT want my life cluttered with APPS so I refuse all of them,
major hidden fault – warning-= never do a factory reset what ever problems you have got ==== if you do it genenerates a secret password that was put it when it was produced, and no matter what other people say on the internet, you need the exact correct passwood to use the phone otherwise it does work any more ==== unless you get the right password the phone is… Read more
completely dead and all you can do is throw it out === its a dirty trick by the Finland company to get you to buy a new phone - but dont buy a Nokia - the company is corrupt so buy another brand - not Nokia, Nokia was good in 2g, but is useless in anything above 3g
this is a great mobile phone the nokia e63 – I bought the nokia e63 mobile phone from the Australia post shop in corrimal and the food the generation 3 mobile phone easy to use and so reliable along with the keypad which is easy to use / I mainly bought it because of the light though it's locked to optus so I have it charged up and ready to use just as I backup mobile phone as I tried to… Read more · 2
unlock the mobile phone and use it on telstra though it didn't work out / I totally recommend this south Korean manufactured mobile phone to anyone that isn't disabled or hasn't got restrictions on hand movements though be aware to keep it away from water as it's not waterproof
Nokia E63 surpasses Samsung Galaxy Fit!! – We're half way through a 2 year plan with Vodafone & I accidently damaged my screen on the standard Galaxy Fit touch phone. I popped the sim card into my old Nokia E63 to use in the interim. Now I realised how many more functions my old Nokia has that the Samsung. The Nokia can be turned off & switch itself back on when the personal alarm needs… Read more
to sound. You can resend a failed txt message with the Nokia where the Samsung you can't. The Nokia has a better battery life.
Since having the Samsung under Vodafone's contract where we live I'd much prefer to go back with Optus & my Nokia!! :) More functions, Querty keyboard, battery life, alarm setting, resending a failed text message No.....nothing I can think of
great phone but has a common design flaw – between my 13yo daughters 2 main friendds they have had a massive 5 nokia E63's all with the same design flaw. the metal pin inside the charging hole is dodgy. it gets pushed inside the phone when u try to plug it in to charge or the pin bends n u cant plug the charger into the phone at all. 5 nokia E63's all with the same problem is too much of a coincidence. poor design guyz! their a great phone design flaw with charging pin.
Fully Sick – This is the best 'brick' phone ever. I chuck mine everywhere and it never gets damaged. The battery life is pretty good since i always forget to charge my phone. I dropped it once. Earthquake. This is a really really really good phone for those who only want one which is durable and one they dont need to take really good care of. durability, battery life menus and pretty much the operating system
E63 just keeps on going! – I've owned my Nokia E63 since Christmas 2009 where I was in dire need for an upgrade from my old tired Nokia handset. The Nokia e63 was a promise of a new beginning with a larger screen and a full qwerty keyboard function which allows quicker text messages and better reading capabilities with the larger screen. The main function keys are… Read more · 4
individual, for SMS, email, calendar and contacts, and can be further customised to do other functions with a longer press hold.
The e63 from my view has been a very dependable phone, with a super large capacity battery which lasts all week with reminders, sms's and phone calls all coming in. The battery is quickly charged by the OEM charger and rarely gets hot when being charged or used. The phone itself is is made from polycarbonate and is very sturdy and long gone are the days when you would drop a Nokia and it would explode into all its individual pieces! The fascia plate is screwed on and little to no dust has managed to get onto the screen itself - which can be very annoying! I haven't had any issues with the screen unlike some others, my phone has been dropped quiet a few times without any issues with the screen? I keep it in a Mock's Mobile Phone Sock, so maybe that's why its survived so well, who knows?
The use of the phone is logical and typical of Nokia, the software is another standard and straight forward working outcome also. The office software with word, excel and power point all work and are inter-compatible with Microsoft software and you can drag and drop and modify these on your laptop.
The camera is a 2mp VGA, which typically means that the photo's are good enough however not good enough to impress when they're on a laptop size screen. Some pictures are so poor that they're upsetting when you thought you've captured a great photo! The flash function is LED and its severely lacking, however for the price point I guess its typical of Nokia. The LED flash can be used as a torch either in momentary when its pressed or steady when you unlock it and press it, and this LED is bright enough for you to navigate dark area's like outdoor parks and parking lots - a very handy function indeed!
Overall the phone has travelled with me to some pretty remote areas, and gone kayaking on a multitude of times, fishing and has gone swimming once when I fell into a salt water creek while pulling in a trophy Mangrove Jack; only to keep on surviving all these years later! I keep the phone on me at all times and even keep it in a dry box when I go spear-fishing or snorkelling, it's a very well travelled phone!!! I would recommend a anti glare screen guard for the screen as the plastic scratches easily and one can be made for it easily with a scalpel and a steady hand, as no generic screen guards are available that I've found locally?
The optional memory card which is a Micro SDHC, this can vary in size from 512mb to the 16Gig limit, which I have installed. I've found that using the largest capacity card with the fastest read / write capability eg: 2 or 4; this gives the phone a better handle on video, camera and music functions in relation to speed of use and access. It also gives you a better chance to tape and record meetings and conversations that you take the phone to. There is a Micro USB port on the left hand side which gives you access to connect it to your laptop or PC and download pictures or update the phone via Nokia PC Suit (do not use the latest OVI software!). Micro USB's are becoming the norm now days and they're cheap to pick up, steer clear from the OEM Nokia cables which retail from $30 to $50!
I have a spare OEM battery (liPo)for trips that may require a second battery, and this ensures that I am always in contact with others or if help is needed. These batteries are notorious for exploding when punctured or left in a hot car, so a little caution to those that are a little clumsy or leave their phone's in hot cars - "dont do it"!
The Tri-band reception is clear and even when in mountainous regions eg: Mt Warning I managed to pick up a signal on the eastern side at the peak, the reception was a little crackly however it was there.
The music player isnt great, however its there. It struggles with some songs and its a little backward when it comes to protected music as licences cant be migrated across. The playback is ok, its defiantly not Dolby 5.1 and its defiantly not anywhere near as good as an iPhone or some of the older Nokia's. However when bored out of your brains, its a sure welcome function and sure beats listening to nothing or the radio!
The e63 is a brick in regards to todays smart phones, with regards to processor speed and overall physical dynamics, however its far more trustworthy than more modern day smart phones which cant be dropped or crushed in your pocket due to their screens. The Nokia e63 is the baseline for the entry level smart phones at a business level. A word of warning that OVI software and apps are a real pain to use and most of the time they dont download and install correctly, so keep that in mind. Solid function, engineered well, lasts 4 years to date, does what it says on the box! Speaker for speaker-phone or music is slightly lacking. Functions for music and music licences are hard to transfer!
dont waste your time or money on this – I got this as a birthday present so i cant really complain about the price, but i wouldnt buy it for anyone. I had this phone all of three days when i fell over and it fell out of my bag and now has a big crack which covers most of the screen which makes it extremelly hard and annoying to read texts, check facebook etc I have had it for 4… Read more
months and it has been one of the most horrible phones i have ever had. it lags, freezes and sometimes even turns it self on and off. my phone will go off even when its on silent ( i got kicked out of my year 10 half yearly exam for this) the camera isnt the best, the light seems to have a mind of its own, the music sounds really tinny when played through the speaker, you cant turn the camera sound off and it is generally an annoying phone and i cant wait to buy a replacement didnt have to pay for it, it came with a free micro sd card where to begin.......
Good – Great phone, one of the best phones I've had so far as it works well and came with most of the features I was expecting with a new phone. Highly recommended for those wanting a qwerty keypad and an upgrade from a standard everyday mobile phone. I've been having problems with battery power for this one but that's only because I have a dodgy, but… Read more
it's all fixed now. Staff were very helpful. This phone suits a large variety of people, I have made it useful for both with the "swith mode" function: Personal or business. Qwerty keyboard, large screen, good memory capacity for message, songs etc. Doesn't come with a USB cable, battery doesn't last very long
Good – The best thing about this phone is the reception. I live in an area where it's very difficult to get 2 bars and with this phone I get almost full reception and can actually have conversations with people. I've used the same sim card in several different mobiles, and the reception on the E63 is miles above. After realising what great reception this… Read more
phone gets, my brother bought the same one and I think my parents are soon to follow. A great phone that's easy to use, reliable and sturdy. Ridiculously good reception. The QWERTY keyboard (I will never go back to a numerical keypad!). Very easy to use. Quality sound and ringtones. Not particularly stylish. Often quite slow, waiting for screens and the internet to load etc.
Good – the Nokia E63 is a nice basic smartphone to any one's repetoire, I actually don't use the email functions of the phone so can't really add an opinion on that, but as a good all round phone it does what's needed and has some extras if you get around to using them all. I'd recommend this to anyone who wants a basic phone to use and might later use… Read more
more of the features that are available in today's smart phones. easy to use phone, it does the basics, well and it has some extras that are useful, such as the integrated camera, blue tooth connectivity, it could be easier to customise, it could have more options than the limited colour schemes that they supply, other wise it's a good basic phone
Good – Needed a new phone and thought i'd give this a try. I'm really happy with it! Was a bit unsure about the whole key pad ,but wouldn't go back now. Pretty easy to figure out but most nokia's are. Was a bit disappointed it never came with a usb cable or car recharger. Sometimes you need to go through a few links to find the one you want but overall a great phone the keyboard and large screen no usb cable :(
OK – This phone is perfect for my needs, which is basically text messaging and calling. If you want a phone for other things like internet browsing or photos, get an iPhone. The qwerty keyboard is easy to use and I like that you can turn the camera flash into a torch at the press of a button. This has been my best phone so far, but saying that I will… Read more
definitely upgrade to something with better internet browsing and camera I love the qwerty keyboard. I used to hate writing text messages but now I don't mind it one bit. You can use the phone for emailing and internet browsing too. You can create Microsoft Word and Excel files and take photos. It has a large screen which is good for viewing messages or web pages No protective case, screen can get easily scratched. A couple of the buttons have chipped after having it in my handbag unprotected. Internet navigation could be easier. Speakerphone is not very loud. The photos from the camera are a bit fuzzy - only good to use as references or phone backgrounds

Great phone – The E63 has worked well for me. I love the QWERTY keyboard and being able to download my Outlook calendar. The camera isn't very good but everything else that I use works well. Being able to download Outlook calendar and qwerty keyboard Can't work out how to redial last number Show reply
Excellent – I love this phone! it has every program needed, or the programs are easily downloaded. Easy to use and navigate. Highly recommend! - Qwerty Keypad - Easy to use/navigate
Best Nokia I've owned – So it's not as functional as an iphone, but it's a great phone for messaging including email. I wouldn't bother for web browsing including Facebook, as it's too tedious to use, but otherwise a good all-rounder with lots of functionality. Battery lasts for ages and it has a radio which is something I missed having in other phones Does everything, Battery is great, Great for emails Difficult and confusing menu system, Web browsing is terrible
Cant wait to get rid of this phone – My normal phone stopped working so I borrowed this until I get a new one. This phone is terrible. The light sensor is stupid i wish there was an option to make it always on instead of sensor because the sensor doesn't work i am in a completely dark room and the buttons never light up. when i type it is so slow and i have to wait for it to catch up i can't wait to get a new c3 it is much better. keypad never lights up, slow
Terrible – Avoid Avoid Avoid Avoid Avoid Avoid Avoid Avoid Maybe the C3 is ok- Nokia claims it has no Calendar issues- do I trust them? Will buy a separate camera Will never go back to non-qwerty keypad Easy to use one-handed while the other hand is on a landline First one-Calendar packed up after 12 days Second one- Calendar packed up after 2 months … Read more
Will be no third one as I am getting a refund from Vodafone because of purchase based on deceptive advertising
Have NEVER successfully sent an email via phone- except via the reduced functionality of Windows Live
The standard cheap throw away mentality of phone manufacturers-no lens cover on the camera
Other defects- but I could have lived with them if the calendar and emails worked.
Endless calls to Nokia which drop out on transfer- have to repeat the process until I realised Nokia just don't care
Emails to Nokia - the responses don't help and you can;t reply, and have to go back to the website and go through the entire waste of time and data again
Good – Overall i think this phone is a good phone, i've had it over a year now and it hasn't let me down. I love the one touch torch button, it's very handy but the battery life needs to be better. I like it and it's work quite well, good bargain for this phone at a low price It has a good keyboard size, the whole phone size is quite reasonable, torch… Read more
good applications,it's easy to use in any condition. It'ss basically good for a low priced business phone, this phone has wifi included so you can browse the web in no time The bad thing abouit this phone is that i find it laggs quite a bit, like when your trying to get back onto the home screen it takes a long time and sometimes it frezes. The camera quality is poor but usable but seriously business people don't exactly use the camera feature. The phone also lacks in GPS unlike it's sister phone the E71. like why can't they just put the inbuilt GPS with it. Internet is a little slow, better to use Opera. If you use it over excessively the battery goes in one day or so
Good – I purchased this for my mum as a christmas present and she loves it. she has had a hard time using the conventional mobile phone but this has been so easy for her to use. It was a very affordable price. highly recomend it for any one wanting an easy to use qwerty phone qwerty keyboard is great for those who are a bit "challenged" in the standard… Read more
way of using a phone key pad to type (tripple or double tapping for letters), easy to navigate menus, software desnt play up, ok battery life, good value for money, downloadable apps, available on a wide range of net works none really
Good – I have now had my Nokia E63 for about a year now. I was my first Nokia phone and I could not be happier. It has been a very sturdy little handset and has stood up to lots of hardships. It has been dunked in a cup of coffee, dropped from all sorts of heights, chewed on, dropped and handled by a baby and has stood up to all these stresses. Not only… Read more
this, it has a long lasting battery (even a year later) and I love the functions of the phone. I no longer use a paper calendar or diary, my phone has become my personal assistant. I also find the camera very handy when out and about and takes some reasonable photos when nothing else is available. I can also access the internet which is also good. Overall, I am very happy with the E63 and will definitely consider Nokia in the future. A good looking phone that had lots of different functions and most importantly works really well. Nothing to dislike
Good – I've had this phone for about 3 months now and I'm very happy with it. It's a very cheap smart phone (about $200 or less). I like the keyboard and find it easy to use. It has a nice big screen for a QWERTY phone, and I really like the built in torch! It's very handy for finding your keys if you come home late. I find the pre-installed applications… Read more
easy to use, and there is also a great range available on the Nokia Ovi store. The wifi works well, and the predictive text is great and very intuitive.
Perfect for someone who needs a smart phone or a business phone on a budget. Keyboard, Price, Screen size, Torch, Applications, Ease of use, Predictive text in SMS Camera quality, lack of GPS

Excellent – This is my favourite phone ever! So easy to use and the wifi has come in very handy. I've since upgraded to a Nokia N97, but think I will go back to using the e63 because it's just so easy to use. It's compact too, which is always a plus. The qwerty keypad is easy to use. It's available on most low end caps nowadays. You can switch from business… Read more
or home screens. The email is a breeze with a handy icon on the home screen. The phone is hardy. It has wifi. I don't dislike anything about this phone.
Bad – Wish I hadnt bought it, I wanted a phone that WORKS...I've tried updating software, but to no avail. Since I bought it in December, the phone constantly freezes whether i'm on the net or in the middle of calling someone from my phonebook, looks awesome though. Its a disappointment. nice design, love the qwerty keyboard freezes, connectivity probs, no usb cable
Excellent – I love this phone. I bought this one after a lot of research. I purchased it outright and I find it such a feature filled phone. You can also get it fairly cheap on cap plans too. I LOVE the qwerty keyboard. I used to hate sending sms messages before I got this phone. Now, there is no stopping me. The phone is extremely user friendly with lots… Read more
of great features such as quick office and 2 do lists. Although there is still so much more for me to learn. I use the calendar everyday. I also like the light on it, it's so bright and comes in really handy. Definetely a phone worth purchasing. Qwerty keyboard, the calendar. It is a bit bulky.
Good – It is quite a useful phone for those who use the keypad of mobiles extensively. rather than pushing the same set of buttons again and again you can save time and effort thanks to the complete QWERTY keyboard given. It is quite a business phone with features like WiFi, 3G, Nokia Email (POP3), applications like quick office. For the price you pay… Read more
it is quite a good phone. The standard 3.5mm jack allows you to plugin any of your headphones without using any adapters unlike the N series phones. 2MP camera is a decent enuf size but could have been better. Top up the phone memory with the micro-sd card and use it for a thumb drive / mp3 Player. The body itself doesn't give a very robust feel though, the back cover is of plastic.
It is a really good budget business phone but you might want to consider it successors E71/E72, which have additional features but at higher prices. QWERTY keyboard
3.5mm jack
expandable memory
pre-installed apps like quick office Plastic back cover
no 3.5G support
Good – It's a great phone, if you know what you doing? I'm abit out of date, so still getting my head around it. Most of the functions are better than my old nokia6300. can't complaint. Looks great & professional, great design and feels good. need to get use to the keyboard
Good – I LOVE this phone, it replaced an old 6120 and I am still wondering why I took so long to do it. Everything is relatively easy to find, the internet is great and I loved the ease of setting up email. My main use is sms/mms, and as I send a lot of pics I thought the camera really could be a lot better - mine is full of lines and not crystal clear… Read more
at all (maybe a quality issue with just my phone?). I would highly recommend it to those who use their phone on a basic level for a range of applications, and who - like me - hate touch phones. The only let down is the camera quality... The QWERTY keyboard, the ease of use with finding things in the menu, looks great and is easy to handle. The predictive fill in is great once you get used to it. Crappy camera quality.
Good – this is a great full featured phone. the camera works suprisingly well as does the video feature. I love being able to access internet off my phone - especially facebook. I love how the phone has a full keyboard. I hate predictive text so this means i can type the actual letter i want with a normal keyboard. has a music player as well and great… Read more

OK – I have been very disappointed with this phone. I bought it to replace a Blackberry Curve after leaving my old job. I thought it would be similar but it lacks alot of the smart processing power that the Blackberry has. At the time, I considered another Blackberry or an Apple iPhone. However, I'm not keen on touch screens as I was used to the… Read more
QWERTY keyboard of a Blackberry. I decided to try the Nokia as my previous experience with Nokia has been OK - they are generally user friendly and robust (although their software is typically slow).
I had to return the phone to Nokia so they could reformat and update the software. However, it still had same software/connectivity problems after being reformatted and updated by Nokia.
As the phone didn't come with a USB cable, I was unable to back up all of my contacts and data. When the phone was reformatted, I lost everything.
I was unable to re-install MSN after it was reformatted/updated.
The phone still had the same problems after being reformatted/updated.
Eventually Nokia agreed to replace the phone. Ive still been unable to install MSN on the replacement phone.
The phone loses contact with the SIM frequently - I was initially told to replace the SIM which is why I passed the 30 day replacement period to start with. However, the phone still demonstrates some of the same old problems and needs to be re-set regularly.
In summary, this phone is OK as a basic phone with internet and email capability and QWERTY keyboard. However, its connectivity and processing power does not compete with Blackberry. (In saying that, the Blackberry had to be re-set frequently also as it would freeze).
Ideal for someone after a phone with basic internet/business capabilities. QWERTY keyboard - easy to type on.
Lightweight for phone of its size.
Large memory.
Camera with flash is OK.
Battery lasts for 2 days with considerable use.
Has internet and email capability. QWERTY keyboard and keys not as easy to type with as Blackberry Curve.
Internet is very slow & temperamental.
Email is very slow & temperamental.
Phone had serious connectivity problems - wouldnt send or receive messages or make or receive calls.
Didn't come with USB cable to connect to PC.
Excellent – I think this is a fantastic phone. I purchased it when it just came out for $499 and even though I would not normally spend that much on a phone I am definitly glad I did! The internet (which is my main use in a phone) is fantastic, very fast and most web pages display just as they would on a computer. Its easy to use and to type with the QWERTY… Read more

Good – The E63 is a great value phone with an impressive set of features, full Qwerty keyboard and a large, clear screen. Messaging is very easy on this phone, and is a huge relief after years of fiddling around with T9 predictive text. Good – Overall I love my E63! The MP3 player is has great sound quality, and the other media functions are really good, such as internet radio and youtube. In fact this phone has basically the same functionality as the E71, except a considerably smaller price tag; the only thing lost is its cable free connectivity as a modem (except USB connection),… Read more
GPS functionality, and the camera is only 2MP.
The camera has a flash, which can be a little harsh for close up pictures, but overall still performs to an acceptable level.
The best thing is that the phone uses the Symbion operating system, meaning you can multitask, i.e. surf the internet, whilst listening to music, whilst checking your diary etc.
Overall an excellent phone for an even better price! The phone is very business like, with many applications, plus the capability to add many other applications (such as google maps etc). I also has a voice synthesiser for reading out text messages. No GPS, and the email facility is a little tricky to set up
Excellent – I love the fact that I can change the personality of the phone by easily switching from my work mode to a personal mode. This phone comes in a couple of colours - I have the blue one. The light has rteally come in handy - I didnt think I would ever use it, but I have used it heaps. As a busy mum of 2, this phone allows me to keep track of my… Read more
