Made my baby screamed in pain and vomit – Unfortunately this formula didn’t agree with my baby’s stomach. I mixed two scoops of the sweet dream formula with 3 scoops of our original formula (As I heard it can cause constipation so I wanted to ease him into it instead of give a full bottle of it) and gave it to my 3.5month old in his bed time bottle. He started becoming very unsettled and… Read more

cried 2 hours after drinking it. Another two hours later he woke from his sleep and screamed. As I picked him up to sooth him he let out a burp and then vomited. He was restless and uncomfortable for the rest of the night. The next day he was still uncomfortable (cry a lot more than usual), very very gassy and had poor appetite. We will not try this formula again.

Glad I bought it – Excellent formula. Major difference after the first bottle. She normally had disturbed sleep and woke every couple of hours to feed. Since starting Novalac Sweet Dreams she now sleeps for 8 hrs straight at night and wakes up happy. I also give 1 feed of Novalac constipation to keep her comfortable and she finally has yellow poo. No more crying! No… Read more ·  2

more gas!

Prior to starting Novalac Sweet Dreams my 2 month old daughter was constantly hungry feeding every 2-3 hours and never satisfied after a feed. She's exclusively formula fed as my milk supply was non existent from week 5.

I have tried many formulas NAN HA Gold which caused constipation and disgusting green poo, NAN Comfort which constipated her and gave her gas, Karicare Aptamil Gold + Allerpro smelt awful and she cried the whole time whilst drinking it and after needless to say that went straight into the bin. We then tried A2 Platinum Stage 1 which left her with lots of gas and she was screaming after every feed for a while and again constipated. We moved onto S26 Lactose Free as was suggested by a doctor she might have colic due to undigested lactose.....worst decision EVER, terrible constipation, then S26 Gold Comfort as reduced lactose and apparently developed specifically to relieve constipation, this resulted in nothing great, still constipated and disgusting dark green poo.

I'm not sure why some people are complaining about the smell of this formula...clearly they have never smelt Karicare Aptamil Gold + Allerpro

The formula does take a little longer to dissolve but I mix it in cool boiled water, shake the bottle for a minute and then put the bottle in the bottle warmer, shake again and serve :) Everything, not foamy, smells ok, my baby sleeps well and stays full, good colour poo Could dissolve a little better

This worked – After being on s26 gold for the first 6 weeks, I switched my son to this because he wasn't sleeping for more than a couple of hours broken up throughout the day. The first day I gave it to him he slept for 2 hours, then 5 hours in the afternoon, and then 11 hours that night. I was actually a little worried at how well this was working. … Read more

However, it was only like that on the first day. He's been on it for about 2 weeks now and has had a few sleepless days with just 15 minute naps and some days with only 3-4 hours sleep. Overall it has made him sleep more and not demand food every hour like he used to, so I'll be sticking to it.

We're trying to get on top of his reflux at the moment so I put the sleepless days down to that.

It mixes up a little thicker than regular formula but he has no trouble getting it out of the bottle with the same teat he was using with the s26. He also drinks the same amount (150mls) at every feed as he was with the old formula despite people saying it swells in the belly. It mixes as 1 scoop per 30mls.

If you do try this, like any other formula stick to it for at least 5 days, assuming baby doesn't have a severe reaction. Their digestive systems take a bit to get used to a new formula, my son was a bit irritable for the first few days even a bit gassy but we used Infants Friend like we had been and he was fine after about 3 days.

You probably won't find it at the grocery store but chemists stock this brand. It's a little more expensive, I pay $24 at the Priceline Pharmacy but the S26 was $21 so it's not that much of a difference but it is only an 800g tin. Works reasonably well, easy to mix and no need for new bottles.

Excellent – When we had our twins I was doing both breast and formula feeding. My daughter was somewhat satisfied with the hospital's choice of formula however my son would only go 1 1/2 hours before he was screaming for food again. It was extremely draining and the sleep depreivation was killing me. I remember going into the chemist at 8 weeks almost in… Read more

tears begging the lady to help me. She recommended Novolac SD and she said that I would notice the results instantly. I rushed home eager to give the formula to my babies. They went to sleep and slept for FIVE HOURS. I used this formula until they reached 1 year, weening them onto straight cows milk over 4 weeks. And just a tip for making large quantities; save yourself some time, buy a air-tight jug (sistema), and calculate your full days bottles (say 5 @ 200mls each = 1 ltr). Fill the jug with water boiled water to 1 ltr mark, place in fridge. The next morning make up your bottles for the entire day as it's right for 24 hours, wash containter and do water again. Simple. BUT WAIT IT GETS BETTER. Now to save the brain. Weigh your formula, that's right ; don't count scoops it's too easy to make mistakes or to lose count. On the tin it'll say 4.3g per 30ml. So the equation for say 1 litre is 1000 divided by 30 multiplied by 4.3. = 143gms. Get those scales that weight per gram. And just scoop away until your scales say 143. No thinking. No mistakes. Then add to water, whisk away and JOB DONE for 24 hours. Trust me from a mother who survived twins I used every short cut I could think of. It worked quickly. It did what it says which gave my babies sweet dreams for 5 hours. It was no more expensive than other brands. Easy to prepare (following my suggested tips). Not easy to find. Only supplied by chemists and not every chemist stocks SD.

Great product – I started using this for night feeds mixed with novalac constipation and works well my baby only wakes 1x a night now for the last month she is 4 and a half months now so very happy keeps her fuller for longer and I saw a change within the week thank you novalac

Great for Reflux – Put my newborn on this after a few days on another brand because he was inconsolable. He was immediately happy after just one feed. I used it for the first 6 months of his life and extremely glad I found it when I did. It is an expensive one though.

Did really help with night waking – My son was waking up frequently at night until I discovered this formula when he turned 1. And ever since he wakes much less and most of the times would sleep through. Everytime this formula runs out I had to substitute it with a normal formula he would wake for a drink! So I really can’t do without it :) a life saver if you have issues with night feeding!

Bad constipation – I tried this product as it was recommended to me by a friend. My son was not having problems sleeping through at night but he would wake once or twice for a feed so I thought I'd try it. I was a bit hesitant as he got severely constipated on novalac reflux formula and would scream in pain. I must admit, he loved the taste and would suck the… Read more

bottle dry but it actually made him wake more and again he got constipated after 1 night of use... and 3 days later is still passing foul smelling solid small pellets. Normally he has 4-5 fluffy regular poops a day.

I am sure it works for some but I saw no benefit to his sleep, in fact it was worse with the added constipation.

Also the formula is harder to come by being available at selected pharmacies

Caused Tummy Upset – I really like Novolac so I didn’t want to leave a super bad review but unfortunately this particular formula has caused me quite a bit of grief with my Bub. My babe was only having 1 or 2 bottles max and for the… Read more

most part she is breastfed.

There is nothing else I have given her that could have caused this.

She’s been very difficult since and crying awake in pain and I’m going to go back to the colic one as she had no problem with that one.

It does keep fuller for longer, but I guess it just doesn’t agree with all babies tummies.

Caused very bad constipation – We tried this formula introducing gradually and according to instructions. We were only using for last bottle of the night. First night I tried 2 scoops of this and 4 scoops of normal formula and LO was fine with three bowel movements the next day. The second night we tried 4scoops and 2 scoops of normal formula and had slightly extended sleep but… Read more

following day LO was in severe pain on and off and really struggled with any bowel movements all day. Usually is happy all day and nothing fases her but she was constantly crying and straining. After this I won’t try again.

I do note a lot of people have had a good experience though so maybe just be wary of our experience if you are trying.

Good formula – This formula is easy to prepare, you just follow the instructions on the tin. I have been feeding my baby her last bottle of the night with this formula and it keeps her fuller and more comfortable through the night. She is 9 months old now and had started to wake through the night again and this formula has definitely helped.

1st night on SD bub slept through! – I came across this formula by chance and so glad i did. Seems to fill bub up and from the first night of using the formula bub slept from 10pm until after 6am. I have had friends also say their bubs wake up less/not at all on this formula. I heat water in bottle prior to mixing formula. I also give it to my bub at 3pm and then at bedtime at 6pm. Highly recommended!

What a relief! – After trying a couple of other formulas I have stuck with this one! Keeps my baby full and sleeps for 5-6hrs stretch overnight. Just find it does constipate him But I add coloxyl drops into his bottle 2-3 times a day. Bub brings up his wind easy and doesn’t spew it up.

Perfect for hungry babies – I couldn't live without this formula. I have a hungry baby that wants to feed all the time, especially through the night, however once we switched to this formula, the baby seemed full and satisfied and started sleeping through the night. It's a lot thicker than other formula so you may need to adjust to a cross flow or fast flow teat but overall a top product.

perfect for mix feeding! – Easy to prepare and my bub had no issues swapping back and forth between breast milk and the formula, took the bottle first try with no taste issues. Has kept him regular and seems to keep him fuller for longer between feeds without "over feeding" him or causing him to vomit due to an overlarge quantity. Would definitely recommend!

This saved our sleep! – Very good formula, it took a few days for our little boy to adjust, meaning he gradually slept longer and longer, even during the day, he used to nap for 15 minutes or less, now he stays down for up to one hour. Fills tummy but constipated – I use this formula at night as a top up after breastfeeding. It doesn't 'set' in the bottle or bubble. It is thicker than normal formula, however, so you do need to use the next teat size up. It takes a while to digest (which I guess is why we use it at night = longer sleep), however, the other consequence is constipation. Usually my son poos a… Read more

number of times per day (breastfed), however, with this formula it is every 2-3 days. The poo isn't dehydrated, however, it is HUGE. I can only imagine this would be worse for babies that are purely formula fed!

Saved my sanity!! – I had a very unsettled baby until I introduced this formula ( 1 bottle a day at night) to my super hungry breastfed daughter when she was 8 weeks old. She took to it straight away and… Read more

was less fussy and slept for longer stretches at night instead of waking non stop for a feed. I can honestly say this formula has saved my sanity and breastfeeding relationship. I was worried that she might not tolerate such a heavy formula but she never had any issues and I can wholeheartedly recommend to anyone with a super hungry baby.

Perfect for my baby – This is the only formula my little man who is 6months old will drink, likes and doesn't upset his belly. We tried the big brands but they made him sick and grumpy. Recently we couldn't get Novolac so we bought yet another different brand and his reaction to it was awful. He refused to drink it then cried and screamed, and it also affected his sleeping. Sticking with this one now. Thank you Novolac.

perfect - saved our sanity! – we baught this because we were up every 2hours with our 9 month old for a feed (180ml) and we were getting no sleep, she was always grunpy and hungry on other formulas (had tried multiple formulas prior) she also was a spewy bub. from the first bottle she was a totally different child. The first night since birth that she had slept basicly all night (7-5 then 5.30-8) and now is almost sleping thru every night (with the acception of teeth again) this formula definately is worth the money. We havnt had any issues with bowel movements or anymore large vomits (the occasional airlock vomit with a burp) would recommend this for formula to anyone without a doubt.

great concept baby wont eat it – I was so excited buying it. I was hoping bub would eat it as i am mixed feeding my 3 month old. he wouldnt eat it even if i mixed it in a small amount of expressed breast milk. I tasted some mixed up with water it tastes foul. most gross formula ever. I have had three kids and would not recommend it at all.

Working like a charm – My son started this at 6mths old ( he was on novalac reflux) as he has serve acid reflux. He also tends to never have been fully satisfied so we tried this and so far its working great his def way more settled and lasting a lot longer between feeds. We had no problem with having to change teats on bottles etc. I love the novalac range

Lifesaver for bub and for hubby (and me!) – We found our DS has reflux, and like the reviewer before we used S26 Gold. He woke up constantly needed a feed every 2.5 hours and only sleeps 30 minutes, so no one was getting any sleep, hubby and I was exhausted, my breastfeeding cycles were also impacted due to over-exhaustion. We also knew that bub won't thrive if he can't sleep. After using… Read more

sweet dream on the 1st night, he slept 4 hours, then it kept getting longer even once up to 8 hours, he was very happy and gives a big smile every time he woke up. and finally because of sweet dreams we were able to condition him from 12-6am for sleeping and he wakes up for a good feed at 6am. We took him off it once he got the idea, because i dont see the point of prolonged use. Also worth mentioning that after using this I also tried Novalac Reflux and that also worked like a charm, see my review on that too. It dissolves in any temperature well. Reliable.

Terrible constipation – Baby was on Nan-Ha and recommended this for sleeping. Instead she woke up after every 2 hours or less and then the next day had terrible constipation (screams all afternoon) and gas - so quickly ditched using it. Doesn't seem to dissolve either so maybe that was it, or the specific formula Constipation/sleeplessness/doesn't dissolve

Didn't work for my baby – My husband and I did a lot of research into a formula that we would be happy using with our then 1 month old boy. Our baby is breastfed and gets very hungry at night. We brought this to… Read more

help fill his tummy better at night (and had our fingers crossed for a few extra hours sleep).

This formula is expensive, and it mixes terribly... it's very thick and even after preparing according to the directions, it still looks like a lot of the product doesn't dissolve/mix very well (compared to other formulas we has since trialled). It also had a terrible smell, and our bubs smelled of this formula for a while after his first feed of it.

Our baby enjoyed drinking the formula, however, we were very disappointed with the results. He actually woke up hungrier and more frequently during the night, and had terrible constipation and worse tummy pains than before using Sweetdreams. We took our son off this product the next day.

Sweetdreams did not work for us at all, however that's not to say that others won't find it suitable for their babies. Baby enjoyed drinking it terrible smell and doesn't mix very well

One star because it was horrific for my baby – I have 3 school aged boys and 3 mth old baby and have never experienced anything like this before and I have tried most formulas out there. I purchased the unfamiliar tin after Pharmacist persuaded me to choose over all others . I wanted something with casein in it that would help baby sleep better as well as more settled (as he was on nan ha gold… Read more

for 2 mths and was always passing foul gas couldn't lay on back because of excessive wind etc though thrived on it I was always making bottle after bottle on top of bf ing).

After buying the tin and mixing half half with remaining nans formula as per instructions from Pharmacist, I gave him two bottles before his night sleep and found he was very unsettled making whining noises while sleeping and moving all over cot plus woke up in two hrs when he would usually sleep 4 to 6 hrs ! After waking early, he then proceeded to wake every fifteen mins to half HR through till sunrise !! Which I've never experienced before as he only wakes every couple hrs . I do believe it's the casein filling his belly up to the point of being too swollen and uncomfy especially coming from a very easy formula to digest previously . So in saying that I believe if I had put him on it from beginning it may have been different . Who knows. One other thing I THGT was dodgy was the fact it doesn't say how much casein they use in ingredients! It could b something like 80 /20 .. ( 80 % casein 20 % whey ) . And that is a little dangerous if u ask me. I also looked up there site and it starts off making u believe their company is so trustworthy because u have to click ' I agree ' to the whole breast is better line , but yet their site is very uninformative and slack . Anyway all comes down to babys gut digestive system circumstances and trial and error I suppose.

I have now put him back on Nans but on the Pro rather then H A and he seems very content so far Nice looking tin , believe it may work for bubs previously on formula with a lot of casein in it Expensive , unfamiliar brand , small tin , ingredient quantity missing??

Excellent – Fantastic!!! My baby was waking between 5 and 17 times a night for frequent sips of milk, she's a snacker. I have only used the product for three days and the last two nights she has only woken once a night, I tried everything and this is the only thing that worked. Thanks Novalac!!!!!! It really works!!! Has a small scoop and the tin doesn't have a lip to even out the scoop

Excellent – We found our baby boy waking between around 5-6 times a night from about 3 months old (When we put him on a bottle). We found our boy really enjoys it, he… Read more

used to screw his face up at S-26, and after tasting it I can see why, its awful. He only would have around 120ml of S-26 until he would refuse to drink it, the first bottle of the Sweet Dreams he had a full 180ml plus another 80ml once he finished the first bottle.

He now has between 1 and 2 feeds a night using the Sweet Dreams formula, and when he wakes he isn't as hungry and screaming for another bottle.

His height and weight gain has been normal using this formula, most of all he is happy, and we are happy not having to feed as often! It works - it actually tastes OK! Not available in Supermarkets, small scoop

Excellent – LOVE IT!! My 4 month old daughter always had green smelly runny poops and was always a grumpy unsettled baby no matter what i did she stayed the same ever since i had stopped breast feeding at 9 weeks. Novalac SD.... within 24 hrs her nappies had become what a normal healthy bottlefed babies nappy should be and her tossing and turning through the night had also stop. she still wakes for a feed at 3am and 6am but in comparison to 11pm 2pm 4pm 6pm im stoked!! Seems to have made her feel better and in turn she is a much happier baby!! Another benifet of using SD is that she suffered with slight reflux, not severe but enough to keep her stirring through the night, since using SD i have been able to cut out the Gaviscone so not only saving me $$ the but saving me time... and i dont belive that the instructions on making up this formula is very difficult at all as i always have cooled boiled water and my daughter takes it at room temp so the heating thing is not an issue for me!!

Thanks so much Novalac!! It is the only product on the market that has worked for my girl! Beleive me iv tried EVERYTHING else!! No leveling lip in tin, only available in chemist, small scoop
