Used this product just once and now have red rash on both cheeks and forehead. Have used normal Olay Moisturising Lotion for years & never had any reaction. Have never had a problem with any other moisturiser or sun block product. Show details
Irritation of eyes – EDIT: The original review below was written about 2 months ago. I gave Olay 5 stars. Things have changed. I started using Olay 2 days ago. I’m sitting here with tissue in hand because MY EYES ARE RED AND CONSTANTLY STINGING AND WATERY! My eyelids are reddish/brown too! I don’t know what Olay has done to this moisturiser but they’ve changed it. My… Read more
guess is they’ve added perfume, some sort of scent. I’ve put eye drops in my eyes and splashed water over my eyes trying to stop them from stinging. Trying to stop the watery eyes and I’ve put Vaseline on my eyelids. What damage is this doing to peoples eyes? I’ve used a lot of moisturisers over the years and not one of them has caused irritation of the eyes like this!
The following is the original review. Sometimes and more often than not, the cheapest and oldest products are the best. I started using Olay which used to be called Oil Of Ulan since my late teens to early 20s. I’m now 66.
When I reached about 60 to 62 years old, I changed moisturises for mature skin. First I went with another Olay product, from then on I tried a lot of different and some very expensive moisturises.
A few months after stopping Olay, the wrinkles started appearing, I was lucky that prior to this I didn’t have any wrinkles, only a couple of fine lines around my eyes.
And I have very fair skin (burn easily, go back to white and add freckles) so I kind of expected to get wrinkles a lot earlier in life especially when the Oil Of Ulan I was using when younger didn’t have any SPF factor and I never put any sunscreen on my face.
I thought that the wrinkles after I stopped putting Olay on was just due to getting older. But the wrinkles came on so quickly and there were a lot there and still are.
I’m going back to using Olay, complete defence SPF 30 for sensitive skin. As for the cost, it was on special for seven dollars.
I think the only difference to the one I’ve just purchased compared to when I used it in my earlier years is this one now has the SPF 30 and it’s for sensitive skin and the bottle is different but other than that I’m pretty sure they are the same.
And I’m going to continue using Olay, not the expensive ones, but the good old original one, probably for the rest of my life.
Like a lot of other people, I’ve spent a lot of money on different moisturises but I’m glad that Olay is still available and it’s still the cheapest and best. To the manufacturers, please don’t change the ingredients.
EDIT: 2 months after writing the above. To Olay, I doubt you will read this but in case you do: Well it looks like you did change the ingredients. What did you do to this moisturiser?! My eyes have been stinging all day! And I put it on yesterday, same thing happened , eyes were stinging, water, and reddish/brown eyelids, I thought all these symptoms was some sort of eye condition like pink eye, but no, because it’s happened again. Why on earth do something to a moisturiser when there was nothing wrong with it?! What damage is your moisturiser doing to peoples eyes? On top of sore eyes, I’m so disappointed as I thought I was going back to the old Oil Of Ulan that I had loved all those decade ago. And I didn’t put it near my eyes either, creams travel up to 2 inches along and underneath the skin. I can’t help but think that this sort of irritation could cause permanent damage. Whatever it is, it isn’t good.

Olay, not as sensitive for me ! – I was so happy to find a product that is for sensitive skin and at such a good price. I had been using it for about a week when I had a reaction to it. I suffer frequently from hives so I was upset that I could no longer use it. I did stop using it for around six months then gave it another try only to have the same reaction. It did have a real… Read more
chemical smell to it so I did read the label and was quite surprised, or not, by the nasty list of ingredients on the back. I have now changed to Certified Organic products, what a relief for my skin but it does cost more. The Olay was worth the try , just not for me.

Caused burning, itching, redness - be careful – I have been using Olay products for over 25 years, since my Nana gave me a tube of Oil of Ulan when I was 13. I have always appreciated the SPF sensitive skin options and reasonable price. The last few years I have used Complete Defence, but I was unable to buy it recently so I bought Complete UV Protection Moisture Lotion, SPF 15, Sensitive -… Read more
which I have used before. I had a huge allergic reaction to it - my skin was burning and red, it looked like I had been severely sunburned, and it was unbelievably itchy. It took about a week to recover, and even then left scaly patches, as though I'd had an acid skin peel. I did not think it was Olay, because due to COVID lockdown, my routines have been upended and I have been using different products. Two days ago I used the Olay lotion again and woke up yesterday with the same burning, itching face and neck. I narrowed it down to two possible products, and tried one on each arm, and sure enough the Olay lotion is causing it! Then I got online and saw all the similar reviews! What has happened Olay? There must have been a new formula or something, and now I have to find a new brand. It's so disappointing to not be able to trust a brand that has been around for multi-generations.
A great moisturiser that really works – I have to admit that I love and trust all the Olay products. I have been using so many of their products over the many years and find that they all really have worked well for me. They do not dry out my skin nor do they make it feel dry or stretched. Plus, its not too expensive either! I tried this one and am currently using this one and its great… Read more
to soften my face after a morning shower. I did have a tough time opening it for the first time because there are no arrows on it, so I didnt know that you had to turn the top to free up the pump dispenser. Instead, I kept pressing it and it didnt budge. Anyway, its a really nice product and now I have a tough time deciding whether to use this one or my regular Olay lotion. It comes is a very convenient pump which makes application very easy to use. I am glad its got such a high SPF rating. The pump is great, but the pump type actually costs more, so it may be economical to use the cream lotion of this same variety.
Good – If you like Olay, most likely you would love this as a sunscreen product for summer. It doesn't look good worn alone in winter as it can look to shiny if not absorbed well. Excellent protection factor and give credit for Olay for introducing SPF 30 + products. You can purchase cheaper drugstore sunscreen specialist brands such as Cancer Council… Read more
which includes more in volume for about the same price, if not less. This would be an additional product to have in the Olay range as it offers great sunscreen but in terms of smooth moisturisers, there better products in the Olay range. Affordable product especially if you can get it on sale. Cheap in terms of the Olay range but expensive as a sunscreen product when compared to other drugstore sunscreen specialist products that offer more volume for about the same price or less. Great for summer as it has the highest SPF 30+. Can be worn under make up. Hydrates the skin. Gives the healthy glow. Gives a whitening greasy film at the start which can enhance pimples for instance. I think it product is great alone if you have great skin with not obvious pimples.

Fantastic Product at great price – I Love this Easy to use product. I've been using this cream every morning for many, many years - with or without makeup. Its a Must to have a sunscreen when outdoors & this gives you a light full coverage. Show details · 1
Please never change it, this is the greatest SPF ever!!! – I absolutely love this SPF. It's affordable which means I actually get to apply liberally, it works wonderfully for my sensitive skin and is great under makeup! Please never reformulate or discontinue! THIS IS MY HOLY GRAIL, ONE AND ONLY <3 Show details
A sunscreen that doesn’t cause pimples! – I have very sensitive skin and sunscreens tend to make me break out into pimples, but this has been a godsend for daily use. I bought this a week ago and love that it is a SPF30 moisturiser. I haven’t worn sunscreen properly in years and I can feel the suns effect on my skin. Glad to get back into using sunscreen that won’t make me breakout into pimples. Show details · 1

Red, itchy, dry rashes – Bought 2 weeks ago for a picnic day. Used it in the morning and then throughout the day broke out in hives on my arms and face. When I got home my face was puffy, red, itchy and dry with streaky rashes all over it. It was so painful and scary. I stupidly tried it again and the same thing happened. Rashes lasted a week and even now are still… Read more
faintly there. The only way they went away was with extreme moisturisers and literally staying inside. This has never ever happened to me before and I'm really shocked and disappointed as I thought this was going to be such a good product!
Allergic reaction as well – I couldn’t figure it out until I fasted, used nothing but this product and it was raised , red itchy hot. So glad you all posted thank you. I thought I was going crazy. Used this for over 15 years. Stopped using the bar soap as well, tossing all their products. 5 trips to the Dermatologist. I never thought this would be the cause of my constant blotchy face. 2 days with out use and I look 10 years younger. Wrinkles softening. Show details

Allergic reaction – Second application of Olay Complete has left me with red, itchy, blotchy raised rash across my face. Have used Olay moisturiser happily but decided to get Complete for the summer. Show details
Problem skin after 2 applications – I have used Olay day cream with primer and Olay night cream for years and like it, but decided to try Olay with SP15 for protection from the sun. After 2 applications my face is red/blotchy, itchy hot and sore. I do have a problem with retinol but there is nothing on the box of ingredients stating this is used. I see lots of other ladies are… Read more
having the same problem. Rather a waste of money as I am no longer able to use it! I would also like to point out that I am not technology minded enough to "drag and drop" as requested below!!!
Itchy! – Feels light on face. I’m a 54 year old woman that has never experienced such extreme itching on my face from a moisturiser. Particularly around my nose and eyes. Shocking itchy and burning sensation. I now have redness and dry spots around my nose and towards my upper lip. So insatiably annoying and ugly. Never again for this product. Show details
Decent Face Sunscreen Product – The market does not have a lot of face sunscreen for sensitive skin. It is a bit oily but it's work and with the price tag. I think it's fair that do not expect too much. It's a daily use face sunscreen for me and been using for a few years. I would conclude it as a decent economically face sunscreen product. Show details
Better as a sunscreen than a moisturiser – I have sensitive skin and find most 30+ SPF products too oily, heavy and irritating. As Olay was on special at the supermarket, I picked up a bottle (plastic pump pack is great!) to try. That was 2 years ago. I use this as a sunscreen only for the days that I go out in the sun, and I layer it on last after my regular toner-serum-moisturiser. The… Read more
thick white fluid does go on a little oily with a slightly white cast, but settles in after about 20 minutes. If it still looks shiny, I blot gently with a tissue. It does its job as a sunscreen that doesn’t irritate my skin, so I’m happy with it and have continued to purchase. I can’t comment on its moisturising properties though.
Sad about how Olay has changed – I have been using Olay since I was 14 i am now 69 I have been noticing my eyes are blurd over the last few years I am not the only one some of my friends fell the same I think it has something to do with the cream I am useing it has changed not happy with it.
Works well – There's not a huge amount to say as this product does exactly as described, works well as a moisturiser. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I'd like it to be a little thinner, its a medium consistency rubs in quite well just if you have other products on as well it gets a bit harder. Oh yeh and don't cry or rub your eyes unless you like a burning pain for several hours. Quite good for sensitive or acne prone skin.
Disappointed – I have been using the 30+ Day Cream for Sensitive Skin for about 6 years. I loved this product. It didn't react with my skin, it was light and non-greasy. My skin always looked great. The last bottle I just purchased smelt different, was greasy to touch, has been greasy on my face and neck, my face was red, have had breakouts and my eyes are itchy and sore. I will not be purchasing this product again.
Burnt my skin – The Olay Complete Defense Daily/sensitive skin burnt the skin on my face, neck & chest causing an itching, red, burning rash. I've used this product years ago without any issues.

Still leaves the skin dry – Hey guys, i got this as a sales assistant recommended the sensitive version. I know everyone skin is different but this moisturizer just doesn't do the job. My face felt reallty dry and when it is first applied it takes a little while for the silver sheen to be rubbed in to make it disappear. For the same price I definitely prefer Nivea
BEWARE -Damaged Skin for life-Wrinkle from the puffiness – I bought Oil of Olay. Face and eyes became swollen, red raw and burning. Became so uncomfortable went to doctor and gave me tablets and cortisone cream. Because I was red, itchy and burned affected for over a week. I had great wrinkle free skin and took great care all these years and did… Read more
not have wrinkles and now permanently affected. Not the same formula I remember using years before and made in Thailand. God knows what contaminants were in it.
Silky moisturiser with 30+ – Complete defence 30+ for sensitive skin provides all the uva uvb protection skin needs, delivered in a silky elegant lotion. I have been using this for years in a hot humid climate and it doesnt irritate my sensitive skin. Doesnt feel greasy and works well under any makeup. Highly recommend.
Great basic daily moisturiser – I like this product. It feels light yet really hydrates my skin. The pump is great. The packaging is attractive and small enough to fit in your hand bag. Leaves my skin feeling moist and offers good UV protection. The price is ok. It's easily sourced. Some may not like the fragrance though I do and I have sensitive skin and have had no problems.
Excellent – My mum swears by this she has bottles of it in her cupboard. Following her advice I though I would try it out myself. It has anti aging properties which is great for mature skin, and seeing as my skin is starting to show signs of aging this product is now suitable for me as well. With a SPF 30 Sun protection this cream really protects against… Read more
the harsh UV's, which is essential living in the tropics. It is not at all greasy and has no real scent so to speak. It is perfect for daywear under makeup and it sells for a brilliant price. Good price for a suncream and moisturiser in one.
This is an amazing moisturiser – Love this moisturiser! I have tried a lot of moisturisers over the years, ranging from Simple to Clinique and this is really amazing. Light enough to sink in quick but offers a good base for make-up. Living in Australia it is great to have the UV protection as well. It's great if you get out the shower and keep your face wet and put it on straight away, it really makes your skin glow! Price, texture, UV protection, smell
Good price for a good product – Been using this product for the last 5years, never turn back to anything else, very light in my skin, yet protecting from UV and hidrating as well. You can find this product almost everywhere that selling good beauty products. Have choices of normal and sensitive skin, I love the mild scented and not over powering like any other moisturizer. very light on the skin, easy to apply, UV protect, not expensive
Excellent – Overall, this is an amazing product that works extremely well. I put it on first thing in the morning, and I have never burnt my face. it works as a moisturiser and a very effective sunscreen. Its light and doesn't effect your make-up. Easily absorbed and feels good on your skin. Doesn't irritiate your skin. This is a greta moisuriser that i use… Read more
daily. I don't like sunscreens as they clog pores and make my make-up slip off, but this is light and does the job very successfully. Sometimes hard to find the sensitive variety in the shops. would like to see this more widely available.
Good – An excellent idea combining such as great moisturiser and SPF UV protection. For people that like to apply moisteriser in the morning or before applying make up, I think that this would be an excellent product. I only tend to moisturise once a day at night which makes it not so appropriate. I would consider using this as a stand alone sunscreen as… Read more
it is SPF 30 and feels so much lighter on your skin that most suncreams do. Light weight and excellent feel. Moisturises your face whilst protecting it from sun damage. The sunscreen makes it sting your eyes if you get it in.
Excellent – Overall, like a fair few aussie women I have a face with freckles that I don't want getting any darker and this has proven to be not only a product that works but has easily worked its way into my daily beauty routine. I personally, also use the moisturiser as an extra under eye sort of cream, lol, because it really does help moisturise those… Read more
areas that need a good dose of moisture. I personally, buy the product when it's on special for around $7 in Big W or Target and if you keep an eye out it always seem to be on special at some given time. Also, although the bottle looks small I find mine lasts months even when using it on a daily basis. Finally the product hasn't affected my skin in any way - adding too much moisture in a way that it clogs pores etc. A great product I highly recommend. An easy way to work sunscreen into your daily beauty routine. Really does work. Non greasy. No obvious smell of sunscreen.
Excellent – This is a reliable non greasy and non fragrant moisturizer. I have been using for over 10 years and have never had a problem with this product and have recommended it to others. My skin feels soft all the time and I feel better and moisturized as soon as I use it. Reliable product. Not greasy. Lasts over 8 hours of moisture. I use it every day and… Read more
apply once in the morning. If I was going to go out in the sun I would reapply it to ensure it was SPF30+. Have been using this product for about 10 years and I have recommended to other people who have also used it for along time. Expensive. It is over $10 a bottle.
Excellent – I love this cream - it's my basic staple and I have it in both this one and also the 'sensitive' variety. I find the sensitive variety great on my combination skin and the other one I use on my chest, as it is oilier and not suitable for my face. The 'sensitive' variety is harder to get hold of but it is worth looking for if you have a… Read more
combination skin like me - it keeps much more matte under makeup. It protects from the sun's rays all day. I love this so much I bought a bottle for both my 9 and 11 year old girls to use every day too. Can't start too young!! Excellent hydration and excellent sun protection in one cream. Comes in a 'sensitive' variety. Inexpensive.
Good – Although this moisturiser is good, I much prefer the normal oil of olay cream in a jar without SPF. This cream has sun block, so I use this one during the day. This cream works well on my skin, but the normal Olay without SPF seems to keep my skin more moist and supple for longer. It's a great cream with high SPF(30) sun block, and reasonably… Read more
priced. I personally don't like the fragrance (although it's not strong at all). It's not as creamy and rich as normal Oil of Olay cream in a jar.
