Ok so far – Recently got one of these, needed a fan and this was all they had. Seems ok. Thankfully it hasnt got the same blades as a picture here shows shattered, this has 3 blades which appear to be made out of a different type of plastic. Seems quiet enough on the low setting in breeze mode for night time use. First product iv purchased with a remote… Read more

though that didn't come with batteries! At first I thought the remote was dead when I did put some batteries in it but the problem was the positive end springs are too compressed and were not making contact. I gently stretched them out a bit with a small screw driver and problem solved. Im finding that more and more common these days with cheap remotes. If you ever have what seems like a dead remote try that first. The oscillating is quiet so far, hope it stays that way. Early days yet but it seems ok. Will be sure to update this if things go south further down the track.

Poor Excuse for a Fan – We bought our fan 3 years ago from Harvey Norman for about $150. It has had minimal use and when we tried to use it recently it would not start but the motor was energised and making a low buzz noise. Eventually got it going by removing the grill and “crank starting” it by hand. Left it running in the hope the problem would resolve. However it… Read more

started making noises, stopped and a motor burn out noise was observed. Complete junk which we must now dispose of. We paid 10 times the price of pedestal fans at Bunnings at the time. This fan is exceptionally bad value and probably dangerous if left unattended. I strongly urge buyers to avoid this fan. Since writing this review, comment was listed below my review by someone representing Omega Altise. They offered to help if I forwarded my phone number and receipt. It transpired that the contact email I was given was invalid. This begs the question about all of the offers of help from the manufacturer representative- or maybe I was just unlucky to be given an invalid email address.

Plastic fan blade assembly has disintegrated – Purchased three of these fans early 2020. Only one is still working properly. Two of these fans, the blade assembly shattered while on low speed during the middle of the night. Also one of these two no longer swings from side to side.  Show details

Extremely Dangerous – This extremely poor quality fan Disintegrated in the middle of the night with shards of plastic blade flying everywhere. Fan only 6 weeks old. Do not buy this highly dangerous product, it is not up to australian standards. Show details

Fan has stopped spinning reliably – When turning on the fan it will not spin. If you remove the grill and manually spin the fan with your finger (for up to a minute) it often starts spinning again. It will then work fine until you turn it off. I do not know how long I have had it but it can not be longer than 2 summers. I expected this fan to last longer. Show details

Fan not working after 2 years – Bought this fan from one of the major retailers around 2 years ago. Fan has now stopped working. I can’t remember which shop I purchased it from so am unable to try and get it replaced under warranty. I expected it to last longer than a few years based on its price. Would not recommend as if it only lasts 1-2 years might as well buy a cheaper fan. Show details

Will not recommend – Purchased the fan last year from Harvey Norman. After 6 months of use it stopped working. It works intermittently amd takes 10 to15 mins for the fan to start up which is really frustrating. Took the fan to Harvey Norman who confirmed few people have had issues with the fan but were unable to assist as we didn't keep a copy of the receipt.  Show details

Plastic fan blade assembly has just disintegrated – Purchased the fan from Harvey Norman about 2 years ago. Fan has had very little use and the plastic blade has just disintegrated around the connection to the drive shaft while on slow speed. Otherwise operated reasonably well until this occurred. The unit was quiet but a bit heavy to lug around.  Show details

Stopped working – The fan worked well for two summers and then stopped. The fan was quiet and had a handy remote but wasn't durable. Don't know what went wrong, the fan just stopped altogether. Will be taking the fan to the rubbish tip and so will incur another expense. Won't buy another one.  Show details

4 fans in 2 years with seized motors – These work great when they work. They move the air around, the different settings are great but... I have just contacted the retailer to ask for a 2nd replacement (in under 24 months) for the 2 Omega Altise fans in our home, both times, they have both had seized motors. Brought them initially for the sturdy base. Will not be buying again.  Show details

Great Fan – Purchased this fan just recently so probably a little early to give it a full review but my thoughts are positive. For the price it is decent and good. Strangely enough the feature i like the best is its stand. Wish all stands were in this fashion as it is very sturdy. The fan itself is fairly quiet and gives out a gentle breeze at low setting.… Read more

Good for bedside sleeping. The timer on it is a wonderful idea and should get some good use out of it. The remote i don't think i will need but it is there anyway. Yes there are some red lights on the display but it has not bothered me. For the price it is a neat compact sturdy fan.

I have since given this a lower rating ( AFTER A YEARS USE ) as the red lights have come to bother me and the fan has become clunky and noisy. I WILL THROW the top fan part out before next summer and replace it with a normal fan but will keep the stand

Excellent fan which does the job and quiet too! – I researched pedestal fans quite carefully before settling on this fan from Altise. I love the remote, I can sit in bed and alter the fan speed, oscillation and even easily ask it to turn off after a set time. Its quiet, I can sleep with it on the lowest setting. However, my extremely fussy annoyng husband who was not involved in the purchase does… Read more

not like the red light on the fan which stays on when the fan is operating, says its too bright when he is trying to sleep. It would be good if the power light could be turned off at night while it is running, but then of course I would probably get up and knock it over in the dark, so you've got to take the good with the bad. wasn't too hard to put together, took me about 10mins to assemble and instructions were clear. My only criticism, and it is minor, is that the remote does appear a bit flimsily constructed, the metal springs which hold the battery were floating about inside the remote battery compartment and I had to jiggle it back to where it should be for the battery to fit in. But the remote has worked perfectly since, just think might need to be extra careful when replacing batteries as it is not that well made. Otherwise overall it was a good purchase and most importantly keeps me cool.

Solid fan – Big thanks to Lexie's review, took a chance as the fan wasn't even on display ! This fan is actually an upgraded version of the Heller HEL40REM's motor/grill/design At the current market, unfortunately most fans have inherent problems, so this was a true blessing Bottom line - Quiet, solid base, good functions with remote, attractive design. This is a quality fan at a bargain price, beating fans twice as expensive !

Does the job – I debated whether to buy a cheaper model without a remote but I'm glad that I chose this one. It comes in a box and you have to put the parts together; it was pretty easy to do and took me about 10 minutes. I'm happy that it's so quiet as I mainly want to use it in my bedroom; it doesn't keep me awake no matter what setting I choose. I would have… Read more

liked a longer cord and I have had to attach an extension so that I can move it around the room a little. The base is heavy which I guess means that it is very stable however this could be a problem for some people. I would also have preferred a silver model. very quiet, and has a remote cord is too short
