Good daily driver, consistent performance overall! – Had this phone for more than a year now. Even after this long, still hardly any lags nor dip in terms of performance. Camera, however, was disappointing to say the least. If you're not really into the camera setup, then this phone is perfect! Show details
Never looking back – This piece of hardware has been the most i am proud of. In fact using it to write this review. Have been a phone enthusiast for years and this phone beats overly priced samsung's s8 and iphone 7/8. Purchased the Australian version (while they ran their trial sales in Australia for brief period). The phone is much slimmer than iphone 7 and much… Read more
lighter than s8 and iphone 7. Oled display is just wonderful, speakers great, super quick (no lags at all), cameras awesome (day time), night shots are questionable. 8gb Ram with 128gb storage (UFS super fast storage) is just unheard of. One plus is what Apple used to be in its prime years (an innovative company with focus on their customers).
Absolutely the best value smartphone! – Very fast and good camera, beat most of its competitors in terms of specifications while having a fair price tag. Nice too hold and the size is just right for me. Haven't slowed down after 10 months. Though the design can be improved to look sleeker, it has a nice build and smooth chassis making it very comfortable to hold. Highly recommended smartphone, I was an iphone user and switched to this and totally loved it! Show details
Awesome just loved it – its like one of the best phones out it the market i love this fastness in the one + 5t man, it super awesome there's good fingerprint sensor, i had issues with it at the start however, but after like a week the phone started recognising my prints more and the sensor just worked fine after that however it doesn't come with the stock android… Read more
which means that i cant root/ jailbreak the phone from the settings so i had to do it manually
it also has like very good battery life, and the usb c charging is awesome and super fast
its really worth buying the one plus 5
Oneplus 5, fast and furious – After selling my SAMSUNG Galaxy S7, I got oneplus 5 8gb 128gb midnight black from ebay. Basic design, good camera, fastest phone I have ever used till now. Good screen brightness, loud speaker and good battery life. Overall happy with the performance with the op5. Downside is, there are very few good accessories like screen protector and cases in market. Show details
A little dream came true – Owned Oneplus one since 2014, but gave it away to my brother who needed a new phone after 2months using it. Been wanting to use Oneplus back since then, but they don't have enough bandwith to support Australian LTE network. Was so happy to heard about Oneplus 5 being a global version and bought it straightaway. It doesn't disappoint me; fast… Read more
finger scanning, big ram that doesn't slow you down, decent cameras, most importantly it's very value for money. Love this skinny phone
Smooth phone – I've had this phone for almost 6 months and it has been such an awesome investment/upgrade. Although a bit disappointing as the 5T was released just a few months after making my purchase for the 5. Nevertheless, the dual SIM feature is extremely useful for me as I can one SIM card for pure personal purposes and the other for business purposes.… Read more
It's also the first phone with a fingerprint sensor that I've owned, so it's a real time saver not having to enter passcodes to unlock it (a similar principle can be applied to apps as well).
I just wish the phone had optical image stabilisation and a spot to put in a memory card, otherwise I would've given it 5 stars.
Absolutely Great Value for Money – This phone has all of the speed and design of a major flagship phone at half the price. The stock android experience is amazing as i never liked the Samsung OS. It has plenty of power and a huge screen but its the little software tricks that i like the best. It turns off automatically over night so you don't wake up to a dead battery and the reading mode is great. Show details
Great value smart phone – I have been using this phone for the last 5 months and have had a very positive experience. For the price ($599) roughly half that of a flagship iphone or Galaxy it is well worth it. The camera is very good (my wife says it's much better than her iphone) and it is very fast. the apps install so quickly and the OS is well designed. My only… Read more
downside is the wifi is somewhat unreliable. It can sometimes be extremely slow, however not all users have this issue and it is easily resolved by restarting the wifi. Overall an excellent phone, highly recommend.
Best phone ever – Camera is excellent. Fastest unlocking phone ever. Really value for money. Had no problem up to now and one plus are really customer driven. They solve any bugs ect very fast. with the latest firmware update, they implemented the face recognition which is as fast as the one plus 5T. Show details
Phone is fine but not great – OnePlus's price point is great the display and update timeliness is lacking which often leaves the device vulnerable to new security issues. Random reboots and security vulnerabilities seal the deal that this isn't a brand I'll ever buy again. The quality of the hardware just isn't up to par either. For just a little bit more I could have gotten a much better device. Show details
Great phone for a flagship price – Probably the best phone I've ever had. Has plenty of RAM and I have never experienced slowness, even with 50+ apps open. Tons of customization since it runs on top of Oxygen OS. OPO also release updates quite frequently and currently the phone is on Oreo Android. The camera is also great as well. No need to carry around a DSLR when this exists. Show details
Best phone I've owned hands down – Decided to purchase this in September 2017 after a smashed Samsung s6 edge and a bricked 6P. All the bells and whistles of a flagship at literally half the cost. The fingerprint sensor and dash charger are insanely quick and I usually get a full day of use easily on a single charge. Once you get used to the alert slider on the phone I don't think… Read more
I can go back to a phone without it. Oneplus has always been good with pushing updates much quicker than other flagships and Oxygen-OS is basically stock android. The only "negative" if I had to say is the slightly outdated look with the bigger bezels compared to the newer phones.

Good phone at its price point – I bought my OnePlus 5 online directly from the OnePlus website. It's definitely not the most powerful or attractive phone at the market, but at about $400-500, it's pretty much the best phone you can get. Operates pretty much as good as most other premium Android phones, with a powerful quad-core processor and high definition screen. For those… Read more
into taking photos, it boasts a dual camera allowing for high quality photos. A feature I like in particular is the dash charge feature, which allows you to do a quick charge of the phone when you are in a rush, giving nearly a day's worth of battery in a 30 minute charge. Would definitely recommend this phone as a high quality phone at a low price point
OnePlus5-Best deal in smart phone! – I bought my OnePlus5 (8g/128g) in China for only$500 in 9/2017 ! I believe it has been the best deal...it is attractive and reasonable price...long lasting battery..dash charge in half an hour..powerful.smooth and fast..believe me..no other phone gives you the same bang for the buck..if you have any problem.just restart Show details
Best phone for the price! – This smartphone is one of the best I could possibly have at $300/400 nowadays. You have good performances, you have a beautiful screen (as I would prefer a bigger one). The best thing about this phone is its battery life, you can easily spend one or two days without charging it. One plus is doing a great job with its fast charger and his system install on the phone. Best phone for the price and the performance. Show details
Highly rated – I was immediately impressed with the camera quality and functionality. There's a professional mode that allows you to manually adjust camera settings just like a dslr. Great speed and memory capacity too. Highly recommended for the price range. The brand also has cute cases available for the phone. Very impressed Show details
A fine alternative to other flagships – Purchased this phone in early October 2017, after I smashed the screen on my Nexus 6P. Was holding out on buying a Pixel XL but the price and lack of headphone jack were dealbreakers. Design: Nothing groundbreaking, however the construction feels solid and the device is thin and light without sacrificing on durability. Inclusion of alert slider… Read more
is well deserving of praise.
Display: 5.5in AMOLED panel looks great however not as bright as competitors and thus suffers in sunlight.
Performance: Faultless. I opted for the 8GB RAM model and have no regrets. This is the first Android phone I have used that does not lag ever. I believe Android software is to blame for the occasional crash (lack of optimisation vs iPhone).
Camera: Weak point of the phone. In good lighting, the camera is on par with other flagship phones, however begins to struggle in low light situations. Images can also come out a little soft. Fine for social media use.
Battery Life: Good, I would say above average. 3.5-4.5hrs SOT possible with moderate usage on 4G. Easily manages 6-7+ hrs on Wifi.
Would be worth looking at the newer 5T however I would also suggest LG V30 as an alternative.
Great phone bad experience – Bought this phone when on holiday in China as soon as it came out. In China the battery life was super good that was until I flashed oxygen os and the battery life has been pretty bad since. 3-4 hour screen on time, fine for what I use it but still annoying that I get home after not even using my phone the whole day and it’s at 40%. Camera is… Read more
great sometimes but still mediocre, photos can turn out great or bad. Performance is great but noticed issues on Snapchat. I would recommend buying the 5t if looking for phone.
Really good value for money – Bought this almost 6 months ago grey stock, however not a problem as I haven't had any issues with the phone as yet. Lightning fast compared to my phone which I've had for over 4 years and the battery life is amazing. Can last over a day of medium usage with juice to spare. Camera is ok but cannot compare to Apple/Samsung Show details
Almost the best value for money phone – One of the best phones I've used. It ticks all the boxes; great battery life (lasts me throughout the day and more with heavy use), lighting fast charging from it's patented dash charging (fastest charging in the phone game approx 60% in 30min), decent screen 1080p AMOLED, really snappy and quick response probably due to it's very minimal… Read more
bloatware and near stock Android experience, still has a headphone jack, ability to customise pretty much anything, free screen protector and case right out of the box, average camera relative to the cameras out there, face id is supereb and beyond expectations, fingerprint sensor in case you don't like face id and oddly enough great buttons. Overall a fantastic phone, a shame the 5t was released 2 months after.
Premium phone for less than premium price – Fast, responsive and so many features, one plus 5 was one of the early adopters of the Snapdragon 835. Moved from an iPhone to a one plus 5 and have never looked back. Have had plenty of complements for its picture and video quality and that's coming from galaxy users. Regular updates and the ui is so clean and speedy. Have a lot of trust… Read more
with this company now and look forward to its future offerings.
If I had to fault it, it will be the OTG cables, the phone seems to like certain types, have 3 otg cables and only the official one works.

This is one of the best value phone in the market – On a normal day, battery can last up to 12 hours after a few months. Camera is superb, try exploring the Pro mode and Portrait mode. The charging time is 1 hour for a full charge = 12 hours of standby time. It's doesnt slows you down with their 6GB of ram. The price tag is just a mere 550$. Happy customer Show details
Beats my old Samsung – I was originally a little hesitant about moving away from apple and Samsung for a phone i hadn't heard much about, especially when it was about half the price. But since purchasing it has exceeded expectation it never runs slow and the battery life is great, I took of 1 star because it sometimes auto restarts, but it hasn't done that since the last update. Really Good – Have had this phone for a little while now. It easily competes with the high end phones on the market with a much more affordable price. It looks great, works well and has a reasonably long battery life. Its camera is nice enough and its little features like the sliding mute button like on apple phones is really great. Show details
Worst mobile I have had, Regretting buy – I was excited with review and smartphone configuration. But my phone can't navigate properly because can't find GPS signals. Various bugs in OS. WIFI Issue. I found this all within one month of buying. Service: there is no phone option to contact. I emailed with issue. No response for couple of weeks. After all, I was advised to do some trouble… Read more
shooting and send them report. I did all that work. They reply after another week and so that we could not find the issue so asked me to do same thing again. I was wondering if I am working for OnePlus to all those jobs again and again waiting for reply? Just take the bloody phone and check it yourself.
All I got response is your issue has been resolved.
Even if under warranty, I am struggling with this phone from first month.
Bang for Buck – I have had the Oneplus One since release The next models onward are not completely compatible here in Australia, but the Oneplus 5 is... and with an Australian launch I hooked up and paid close to half price of a HTC 11 which was my other choice. Truthfully I am still happy with my Oneplus one but the battery is on the way down, the 5 is so fast… Read more
and fingerprint sensor is accurate I cannot fault it especially at the price. you can check the specs its at the top end ..downside, warranty although 2 years has to be sent back to china, but that's the risk I'm willing to take.
not advertising for them but check details here if you reside in Australia https://oneplus.net/au/oneplus-5
Excellent – Very good phone but the screen quality of the s7 is much better than the one plus 5. The camera of both Samsung and Apple are really really good and are indeed better than the one plus 5 is what I feel. But the performance and the battery life on the one plus 5 is one of the best I could say. Show details
Awesome Phone – I purchased the one plus 3 and now the one plus 5 and couldn't be happier. The good, The OnePlus 5 is affordable and super fast, with an 18-hour battery. Its camera takes great portraits and low-light shots. The bad, It costs more than any previous model, its design isn't anything special and it doesn’t have expandable storage. The… Read more
bottom line The OnePlus 5 is outstanding, especially for the price; no other phone gives you the same bang for the buck. I love the dash charging, i have full battery in around 1hr Time, It's literally changed the way I charge my phone.
Forwards in Performance, Backwards in Design – This is probably the best phone i have ever owned when compared to an iPhone or a Samsung, both of which i have used. The OnePlus 5, even though the new design has completely ripped off Apple, i wasn't ripped off when i bought this phone because it costed only 700AUD. Even though the display is only 1080p, i could not tell the difference between… Read more
this display and the one on the Samsung Galaxy S8.
I would consider myself a tinkerer who has to run intense compute operations on his phone, this phone was perfect with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 8 Core processor and 8GB of RAM!
Even though the performance upgrade is awesome, i really think OnePlus should make another original design as seen in the OnePlus 3T and not use apple's design next time.
One thing that i had trouble with this phone is probably finding a case for it, the official cases are not very protective as it doesn't cover up the screen. And there are no flip cases you can buy on OnePlus's website even though they advertise their protective back cases as protective when it really isn't.
Other than this, the phone is exceptional and you should certainly buy it!
Love it! – I did a lot of reading before purchasing my Oneplus 5, and I'm really happy with it. My previous phone was a Google Nexus 6, and this is so much faster (I purchased the 8GB RAM model). I haven't experienced any of the 'jelly effect' other users mentioned, and love the Portrait mode in the camera. The gestures and fingerprint scanner work well. … Read more
Overall I am thrilled with it, and it is so reasonably priced compared to the Pixel line.
April 8th 2018 Update: Love!
I did a lot of research before purchasing this phone - it was an upgrade from my very well loved Nexus 6.
It's a touch smaller than the Nexus 6, but love that it's still a large screen with no bloatware. I also purchased an otterbox case for it, and the phone has held up to more drops than I would like to admit.
The 'portrait' photography mode is fab, and all my friends love the pictures it takes.
Excellent phone – After doing lots of research and having a play with the OnePlus 3t (model before this one), I decided to order this phone off kogan.com around a month ago. This phone is fantastic, the sound quality is great, the screen is beautiful, crisp, and big enough without it being too big, making it ideal to watch videos and movies on. The phone arrived… Read more
within a week of purchase, I received an official tax invoice via email, and the packaging of this phone was very secure. Although this brand is not too well known, it is in my opinion better than any apple phone I have owned. Highly customisable, and so many apps/programs are available on it. I would recommend this phone to anyone.
