Aggressive and Pushy Sales People – Sales staff too pushy and aggressive. After saying multiple times it's Christmas and I've just spent money on gifts and can't afford right now. He kept asking me questions and telling me it lasts for a year and costs $3 a week. And they have afterpay. I still pushed back then was told he could give me a voucher for $70 off. So I said I would… Read more

think about it. He then said I can't waste the voucher on you if your not going to buy the product. Then turned his back to me and that was the end. Well I'm definitely not coming back now. That's just unnecessarily rude. Next time I will keep on walking. Shame on me for being nice and stopping to hear the spiel.

Broke out in a Rash – I broke out in a pimple rash after using this product and also found it to be very sticky and hard to wipe off after leaving it on for a few minutes as suggested by an Origani rep, very disappointing after paying $99 for this product, rash is not going away now either. Show details

Aggressive, forceful marketing and fake 'discounts' – I'm writing this review because a friend recently posted on FaceBook about being ambushed in the Melbourne CBD by a sales girl from a skin care company and relayed a story not unlike the one in the screenshot. She didn't mention the name of the company, but when I asked if it was Organi, she was surprised that I'd immediately guessed the company. … Read more

The screenshot of the review below is almost IDENTICAL to my experience, also in the Melbourne CBD, but interestingly enough my experience was in 2011 so obviously nothing has changed despite the multitude of complaints over the past 8 years (and the multitude of responses from Organi representatives seemingly apologising and showing surprise/concern that these tactics are occurring - come on, we know you know this is happening and you clearly don't want to change your tactics). Aggressive sales girl touting false claims of a 'cure-all' mask. Totally dismissive of my concerns regarding my sensitive skin, dermatitis and particularly seborrhoeic dermatitis. Kept saying that 'because it's natural there won't be a reaction' (people have allergic reactions to 'natural products' all the time, I'm a doctor who works in an emergency department and intensive care unit, seen plenty). Tried to sell me a customised package of tiny, crappy products based on my skin concerns totalling almost $600! I express my disinterest and am implored to stay seated while she throws in extra samples. Still. Not. Interested. Sales girl goes out the back and returns to whisper "I shouldn't be doing this, but I'll give you the staff discount, don't tell my boss" and proceeds to knock almost $80 off the price (if this is fiscally possible AND able to be hid from superiors without them noticing a change in revenue, why not price the items like this to begin with?). I'm frustrated and have wasted almost 40 minutes in this place I had no original intention of being in. I express a wish to leave and thank her for her time. Once again, she motions for a senior to come over, and just like in the review below, I had by this point, been strategically boxed into the shop with these two women positioning themselves very close to me; and between myself and the door. Superior reiterates all the rehearsed lines sales-girl has already told me, I reiterate my concerns regarding skin conditions, price, my disinterest in this. Superior is speaking in very short, curt sentences as if what she's saying is so obviously correct and I am wasting her time. Sales girl is echoing 'I said that....I said that too....I told her that' while looking exasperated. I'm beyond frustrated and angry now, particularly because I'd said I wasn't interested multiple times by this point. I stand to leave (politely but assertively) and am met with glares, sighs and plain rudeness as they make a show of clearing away all the products they'd forced me to hear about and make a point of no-longer acknowledging me as I have to side-step them from the corner I was in to leave.

What is really a slap-in-the-face for the customers is that this psychological intimidation has clearly been a sales tactic for almost a decade, with a plethora of similar or identical complaints; and just as many assurances from Organi that they are sorry and this will be investigated. Nothing has changed. It is evident and very obvious this IS the preferred sales tactic and this company has proven that if its assurances regarding complaints are false, then its assurances regarding the properties and benefits of its products can also not be trusted.

This will be reported to Fair Trading.

So far I like it! – Yes, I agree that the sales people are pushy when selling this product. Funny thing is they really don't need to be as the product is good enough on it's own. I have used a similar product from the body shop (an exfoliator that pills on the skin) so I knew what I was getting myself into. I also know that it helps with the dermatitis on my arms and face. I will.probably buy online after I have finished with this jar-- assuming I still like it! Show details

Persistent & Suffocating Sales People – I was stopped at Belconnen mall (in the ACT) today by a sales woman. I absolutely hate to be rude, so I stopped to hear what she had to say. She showed me the nail buffer and I know what it can do; I also know it isn't very good for your nails. However, she kept persisting and showed me the whole set. She told me the set was $120, but she can give… Read more

it to me for $80, etc. and then ultimately offering me a staff discount. The ingredients in the products were something I could buy for $12 at priceline- not to mention the buffer and file you could get for about $3 each at priceline.

I told her I was Christmas shopping for my family and didn't have the money, as I was a student. She kept telling me that I should have some money to pay for it. I was taken aback by her persisting that had money and decided it was time to be a bit rude and I apologised and walked away.

It is okay because I am a confident enough person to draw the line. However, it made me very, very uncomfortable and I can imagine many people just buy it to avoid being rude or arent confident enough to walk away. Your products may be good but your sales staff are unprofessional, annoying and make people uncomfortable.

Quite disappointed with $ Spent - Little results – I was curious about a pop up shop in South Hedland, which is a very remote area of Western Australia. I was pushed to try the product, I did like the honey peel at 1st. Then I ended up walking away with night cream the day cream and honey peel. He said it was going to last the year however hasn't even lasted a month and a half. I have had better results from other skin care ranges half the price. Very disappointed guys. Show details

Awful experience. Stop making women feel bad about themselves – After trying a few different tactics, including being told I looked old by pinching (the nonexistent) flabby skin under my eye and me not biting (because gurrrl I look great for my age) the saleswoman then puts this Manuka honey cream on my face without asking, wiping off half the sunscreen and mascara I put on. Um, what just happened? Why would… Read more

you not ask someone permission to not only touch their face but mess it up? Not okay, I felt so violated. After that happened I was pretty upset. Seeing the shock on my face she then starts asking me to rub the Manuka honey (which I did reluctantly) and starts pointing out it's dead skin coming off my face and telling me manuka was great for the skin. She then pointed out my acne scars, implying it will help get rid of them (I think she was trying to make me self concious, again.) I’ve had the scars for over 20 years and the only thing getting rid of them is a laser, lady. I know that you know that. So, I told her as much and then told her I didn’t want to buy these products because I didn’t want to change myself and that I was quite happy in my own skin, acne scars and all. I then told her I was leaving to fix/wipe off the rest of my face.

Here’s a tip on how to sell someone your product: Focus on how you can help your customer rather than preying on their weakness. Making someone feel self-conscious because of what you perceive their flaws to be (for me old age and acne scars) and then pushing “a fix” packaged as your product is terrible marketing and just plain nasty...

You are making women feel like crap. Please stop, it’s not cool.

Harrassment – I am contantly harrassed every time I go to my 2 local shops (they both have this rubbish). We try to be polite but they just don't leave you alone. crap selling technique – I will purposely AVOID all Organi products because they stop me while I'm walking to give me a flyer, say they want to ask a question - and then when they got me there, they push and push to sell something. two different staff.... So I will absolutely be ignoring anyone from Organi trying to "ask me a question" - which is really just a scam cos you're not asking a question, you want to sell the product and you won't stop bugging them until they buy. If I see anything Organi, I will avoid it at all cost because I don't like people using that method to sell me things. If you have to sell it in such a pushy manor, your product is probably so crap that nobody wants to buy it. Otherwise, just do what everyone else is doing, let people come to you. If you have to resort to manipulating, lying (saying you're just asking a question - and then go on to full trying to sell), then you earned no respect from me. I will never buy anything from Organi because of that reason.

No means no - Pushy staff – I liked this product the tester made my skin feel good however, the one star review is because of your staff member. time. He advised me that as he is the manager he would give me a 'special' discount, I advised I still could not afford it. He told me that surely I had enough to buy it now and that it would only work out to $4 a week as it last for a year. I advised multiple times I was unable to buy it today but he would not let me leave.

He entered numerous times an amount into the eftpos machine even though I had already said no to the purchase. I don't feel I need to explain my finances to anyone! No means no,, Not push harder to make some one say yes to something they do not want. I ended up leaving with a soap that I did not want but it was the only way I was able to leave.

I find it concerning that all the reviews on this page outline that your staff are pushy and aggressive in their sales pitch. I think this should be addressed promptly within your business. It doesn't matter how good your product is, if your customer service is terrible it won't sell. I work in sales and know pushing back is required a little but forcing someone to buy your products is disgusting. You should let your product do the talking instead of trying to force it onto people.

I will not be going back to buy this product ever because of the way I was treated in your store.

therapist, I know skin and products and I dont need a spiel about it as I know about Organi already. He still continued, put products on my face. He came up with all these things to try get me to buy after I said I couldnt afford it even if he bought it down to $5 because I didnt even have that on me or in my bank account. I repeated over the 15 minutes he had me that I have an appointment and I'm late but he didnt care.

He then got angry when I didnt buy, he was rude and didnt acknowledge me after refusing to buy products.

That is not how you sell, this is not fair to people passing by. Organi need to rethink their strategies. It is very frustrating, annoying and I almost totally missed my important appointment because of this salesman. had tried this product before and had just done my make up and didn’t want it on my face again, she disregarded that and said ‘it doesn’t matter touch it up later’ and just did it...I was like ?! And she then said ‘yaz, look at all the dead skin on your face’ ‘you have lots of breakouts this will help’ then forced the product into my hand and told me the price. I said ‘I’m sorry it’s a great product but I have been sick for a long time and really can’t afford this’ she starts frowning and asks ‘do you not get any sick pay?!’ And then is looks at my nails and says ‘I’m not being funny but how much do you pay for your nails?’ As if I’m an idiot and can’t budget and have used my money on the wrong things. She was like ‘you WILL use this and so I’ll give you 30 percent off’ as if this was special but I just felt like she took me for an idiot. When I said no for the 20th time and was getting so irritated and in pain standing up, she turned into a completely different person and said ‘right. Well I can’t help you then.’ Slightly shook her head and looked as if I had just punched her. I was so shocked I went and sat down to just process and decided to use the hand cream sample she had given me as no point in taking it home. She then WALKS PAST me and starts selling whilst on her break! Saying ‘that hand cream is also amazing and I can give you it for 35 dollars if you come back before 3’. So hungry for my sale and led me to reading these reviews and seeing how many other people feel pressured, scammed and condescended. Awful awful sales technique. I went from loving the product to hating the company.

Pushy employee, been over a month, no results – I’ve also seen a few other reviews similar to what I went through. I never planned on buying any new skin care and I didn’t plan on reviewing either but it’s been bothering me ever since I was forced into purchasing the products. So I was pulled in after just accepting a coupon. Worker explained how their products worked and I insisted that I… Read more

wasn’t planning on buying and they said “that’s okay!” and proceeds to talk more and tell me more. One look at my face and apparently the dude knows more about my skin struggles than...me (he claimed I was sensitive, did not bother at all asking me if I truly was, if I was oily or dry...no questions whatsoever). He tried the peel on me and raved about it — it felt kind of condescending in a way, as if he thought I had never seen a peeling gel before? I’ve used several in fact. Haha) He continued pushing and even after I explained my situation and said numerous times about how I did not want to spend, he still insisted so I purchased the honey peel in hopes it would stop but nope...he still pushed me into buying the set, trying to tell me that all the things I did for my skin was bad (lies such as I should never use chemical exfoliants; also trying to tell ME why I use make up...no not because I want my pimples to dry out???? I have no idea where he was pulling all of this from)

He was also trying to sweeten the deal promising free facials and products for free (that he apparently would be losing money from- miss me with all of that, honestly). I was supposed to be on my way home and I was tired and he kept pushing so I ended buying the set.

I tried to be positive hoping AT LEAST the honey peel would do something but alas, I see no changes; the cleanser??? does absolutely nothing for my skin; the moisturiser seems to be alright but my skin already fares better during the winter so I can’t say much. They’ve also called me up about being a permanent member and getting a free facial but I wasn’t happy at all and I felt too upset about the whole ordeal and I declined both offers. I really do feel upset about the hundreds I was pushed into wasting.

Rude and pushy sales people – A couple of weeks ago I was walking through the myer center in Brisbane cbd and got stopped by this young man who wanted to show me the Manuka honey peel, he had me try it on my hand and then suggested that I try it on my face, whilst applying it to an area on my cheek he asked what I use on my face as I look a lot older than what I am, now this… Read more

is the first time I've ever been told this, I'm 30 and always get told that I look a lot younger than what I am, so I thought to myself "that's a first, plus why would you criticize someone you are trying to sell to!". After seeing how it "works" I asked how much it would cost, I was told the price and he then said that he could do a discount for me, now as a sales person myself I've seen all the tricks there are and know how to spot them, so I asked what sort of discount would he do for me? He said that he could do it for $80 less than the original price, I was still very reluctant to buy as I've found other peels that work just as well for a lesser cost. The sales person seemed to be struggling with his objection handling at that point when the "area manager" came over and "belittled" him in front of me by saying that he should not have offered me that discount as it is the "area manager discount" and only to be offered by him. He then took over the potential sale and started out by pointing out the scars on my face, now I was glassed in the face some time ago and do NOT agree with purposefully trying to make someone feel insecure to get a sale, so I pointed it out. He half heartedly apologized and continued on with his pitch, I continued to point out that I was unable to afford that sort of money as I had a lot of bills to pay for that coming week for my 30th birthday celebrations, I had put $100 aside to purchase a gift for myself and did not want to spend it on some face cream. He continued to point out that it was a good deal and that I'd regret it if I didn't purchase, I also continued to point out that I could not afford it, and by this stage was feeling very pressured. He then said that he wanted to show me the nail kit, so reluctantly I agreed and pointed out that regardless I could not afford it, he showed me the nail kit and I said "yes it's very nice" just so that I could leave, I then started to gather my belongings and walk away when he goes "you will regret it!" so I pointed out that yes that's all well and good but I still couldn't afford it, I started to walk away when he says that he wanted to give me a discount for the nail kit considering it was my birthday coming up, but added on after I'd agreed that to receive it I would have to purchase the Manuka honey so I said no thank you and began to walk away again, when he goes "ok how about I throw in a free facial for you as well as a discount for the nail kit", so I stood there thinking for a bit, and thought ok well a facial is normally about $50-$80 alone so.. So I reluctantly agreed, he had me pay first and then took me over to the facial area, he started showing me one product that he put on my face, but then he started showing me all these other random products that he had me try, I soon realized that this wasn't a facial but another marketing ploy, which by that point I was just over it and wanted to leave. I finished my "facial" and left, I had been gone about an hour when I decided that I had been "conned" so I went back for a refund, when I went to get a refund there was a new person there that hadn't been before, so I spoke to the person who was apparently the "state manager" and he was in the process of looking for the refund card when he started asking me questions about myself, I thought at first this was just friendliness, until he processed the refund and shook my hand, whilst shaking my hand he touched my palm with his finger and licked his lips at me, I chose to ignore him, but as I turned to leave he looked me up and down and made this "mmmmm mmmm" sound. I quickly hurried away as I felt very uncomfortable with the way he was acting... I really think this business ought to rethink the people who they hire as this was the most unpleasant experience I'd ever had!

Products are good but very pushy staff who won't give up and keep pushing – Very pushy staff who could sell ice to Eskimos not impressed with their manner. He wouldn't take no for an answer. I was at Mt Gravatt Brisbane and ended up spending $260 which I couldn't afford but did to get away from him. He continually would not give me a receipt and kept trying to add more on the bill till I finally got angry and said enough is enough. I won't buy anymore - not impressed.
