The worst and most unreliable thermometer we have ever owned. When needed at the most critical moment in winter it will always come up as L16 error. When we finally get it working, the temperature reading is very off and inaccurate which is very dangerous when our child has a high grade fever. How this product passed TGA is beyond us. Show details

Great thermometer until the room temp drops below 16deg – I found this thermometer great until I moved house and also stopped using the heater all night when my son got a bit older. New house gets much colder, so overnight I could not get this thermometer to work. And could not work out why until I did some digging and found a few similar reviews. Very consistent readings and reliable – This is a great thermometer. Did alot of research before I bought it. Its very consistent and I can actually rely on it, unlike some ear thermometers that give inconsistent readings. Also because this measures at the temple its more accurate then a forehead thermometer. Its one of the better thermometers I've purchased. Immediate regret – I wish I had heeded the warnings from previous reviewers that the device doesn't work when the room temp is below 16 C. Winter and flu season is generally when you need it. I bought this in winter and it will not function at all. Given the price of the unit, there are better alternatives. Show details

identical to within 0.1 degrees. This unit is unusual in that it can also be switched to other modes for non-contact measurement of objects at much higher and lower temperatures than the human body. Great for finding hot & cold spots when assessing energy use in buildings, for example.

Disappointed – I am disappointed with this product as every time I go to use it comes up with the house icon and says Lo 16 and it takes me about 5minutes to warm up the device before it will give me a reading which is very annoying. Show details

After a fair few duds, this is a winner! – After purchasing or being given several different thermometers, this one far exceeded expectation. I'm.so happy with it . We were using a traditional under the arm style but my daugther was so distraught using it during times when she was already so sick. Temperature is never true – Temperature isn't accurate - I took to the dr's to compare and it was off. was giving reading of 36, when daughter was actually 38. It also didnt match a reading of a friends device. Show details

Great product but doesn’t work when the environment is slightly cooler – Works great in summer when it’s 23 degrees Celsius and up. But the other day when I tried using the temperature in the house was about 16 degrees and it just wouldn’t work. It works fine in the right conditions – During winter the thermometer fails when the ambient temperature drops below 16C, which it frequently does in our house. Otherwise, this is a reliable, fast way to confirm your temperature. Show reply

Inaccurate readings – Consistantly 0.9 off actual temperature. Compared with multiple doctors in-ear and forhead monitors its always off. Regretting spending so much money on a faulty product. Mislead by the reviews on here. Show details

Best Thermometer I've EVER bought! – This thermometer is so easy to use, quick enough to get a temp reading from my 3 year old and also hold memory of the last readings so it's easy to compare when tracking a fever. Only good in the tropics – When this works it seems fine but as soon as the ambient temperature drops below 20 degrees it won’t work. This is not stated anywhere before you purchase. So if you want to measure temps in winter it is useless and doesn’t work. Why would anyone sell a device that doesn’t work in normal winter daytime temperatures in Sydney let alone at night when you would probably want to use it!! Show details

Easy to use – We purchased this thermometer because the normal ones take a whole to use and it’s hard to hold under a wriggly baby’s arm long enough to register a reading. With this thermometer it is so easy to point at the temple (2-3cm away) and within seconds you have a reading. There’s an option to have the sound on or off which is great if you need to take a sleeping babies temp and don’t want to risk the little beep waking them. The screen lights up so you can see in the dark and if the temp is high the screen will change colour.

I really love that it is non contact so therefore no cleaning is required and it comes with a hard case to keep it in and protect it.

Not good for winter! – I purchased this thermometer in the summer months when I had a newborn. It has worked fine up until the weather turned cold. found if the temperature isn't what they call normal room temperature it will not work. I have to have the heating on in the house and have the device sitting in a heated room for at least half an hour before it will work. With the price of electricity who can afford to keep the heating on 24hrs a day just in case your baby wakes feeling hot and you need to take a temperature straight away in case her temperature has reached dangerous levels. Waiting half an hour for the device to work in these conditions is not acceptable. I will now need to spend more money on a new thermometer that works at all times. Not impressed.

Works well except – I have found if the room temperature gets down to 16 degrees then the device doesn't measure body temperature and keeps showing " L 16c" and changes to the house symbol with a red screen and not the body temperature. and this product was still reading 36.2 and it was being checked at the same time. I find it dangerously inaccurate.

Accurate Thermometer! – This thermometer is probably the only touchless thermometer that offers accurate results. it is well worth the cost for the peace of mind that it gives you and so great that you can check the temperature without disturbing the little one! So excited to have a new thermometer to trust! – We’ve been using a thermometer with cap changes for years, and from unreliable readings to buying new caps all the time I was getting really fed up. We were lucky enough to receive the Oricom Hsf 1000 - easy to use - multiple functions -check room, bath and children temperatures -same answer every time - reliable, quick - were in love!!!! get a temp. Just point at the temple & the reading comes back in seconds. Do not hesitate with the little bit of extra cost!!
