quality for an expensive product from a reputable brand. I don't think it is fit for purpose. If I had know this was to be expected I wouldn't have bought this product and now have to find a suitable product. We are currently using the product on mains power only, since the expanded battery is not safe. That does not allow us to go outside or move around the house as we normally would. We have just bought a Tweetycam after reading lots of reviews. I expected a baby monitor would last until I no longer needed it.
The picture isn't particularly clear and the touchscreen is fiddly.
Good not Great – Bought this monitor June 22 by September 22 the night vision in the camera stopped working, I contacted oricom support and they replaced the camera but I had to pay for shipping. charging properly. I called and again cx service is great they are sending a new monitor, I have to pay for shipping though again. So good monitor and camera when they work, but really have had to many issues for it to be worth it.

Lasted a week. Do not recommend – Had this monitor for a week before the monitor was dropped from the edge of the couch(not even 0.5m) and the screen was ruined. We contacted Oricom who requested a photo and upon receiving it we were immediately told it is not covered under warranty. without a battery or a charger. We already had a second camera on the way so we will have to pay postage and repackaging fee to return that in order to purchase a new monitor + camera bundle. Might just buy an entirely different brand after this experience
Absolute waste of money – Purchased in Aug 2021, in the space of a year had to have the monitor and camera replaced under warranty due to the plug hole on the devices being broken. and more swollen to the point the back of the monitor doesn't close now. I was told that it's normal for the batteries after being used for a period of time??? It's a baby monitor, surely there's an expectation that it will be used alot and it would be reasonable for a consumer to expect that a product (purchased for close to $300) would be made to last more than two years... I would not recommend buying this product at all.
Do not buy - Battery no longer manufactured – Had the monitor for 12 months. Generally fine. Our battery has expanded and needs to be replaced for safety reasons however there is no stock of replacement batteries, not even out of China directly. I've been told manufacturing for the batteries has ceased. Solid monitor and great customer support when it didn't work – Solid device and oricom has excellent customer service. It would have been a 5 star rating but I've had to claim warranty on the camera and parent unit. In saying that though, oricom were quick to replace the units. Show reply
Lasted 10 months – The first Oricom monitor we purchased lasted just over a year before it fell apart. We then purchased the SC875. I like how easy the monitor is to use however it gets very hot and only lasted 10 months before the charger input on the parent unit failed. to use my broken monitor I needed the new one that day. I explained this and that I was willing to pick up the new unit and drop off the faulty one to Oricoms dispatch location which was close by to my house. They told me they wouldn’t allow it, so I asked if I could have the unit sent express post which they responded with another no because “they found it takes the same amount of time as regular post”. I am also required to send them back the faulty unit at my own expense which isn’t right. So whilst they are replacing their faulty unit as they should, the level of service is mediocre.
Battery life could be better! – Love the camera itself, just the battery life of the monitor is useless. The camera itself has to be plugged in at all times but the monitor doesn’t even last all night, had to purchase another cord to be plugged in at all times. Show details
Good monitor with only one fault – Overall this is a lovely monitor the only downside is that it doesn’t vibrate in VOX mode which is a function we loved in our old Oricom monitor. This is a function we needed to wake my husband and needed to wake a sound sleeping parent. Show details · 1

the room near the roof just to see the full cot area. That was a suprise. Also, the screen clarity is poor, especially at night time. Very grainy and no where near as clear as other comparible models. Otherwise, it works as described, good connection and simple to use. Now it is broken, I'm going to find something better. It's an expensive unit and you would hope it could have been much better.
The best monitor!! – My friend got me onto the Oricom SC875 and I’m over the moon with my purchase! I had issues with my first monitor (Oricom SC710) and I was hesitant to get another Oricom monitor, but it was the best decision I made. I’ve got two cameras and the feature of being able to see both kids at the same time (though no sound on this feature) is great. I usually use the feature where it switches between cameras every 10 seconds or so and this works really well for us. I couldn’t be happier with this monitor and wish I bought it right from the start!
Works well, but touchscreen could be more responsive – I am happy with the audio and image quality thus far, and it was easy to set up. I think the touchscreen needs to be more responsive, as we found you need to press the screen quite hard to activate the onscreen buttons. Moving the camera using the buttons is not as responsive or sensitive as it should be. I also think the VOX symbol on the HUD should indicate whether the current VOX is low or high frequency, so you know at a glance.
The touchscreen's battery life is only 6 hours, so it will not last the whole night without being plugged in. That can be annoying if you keep it bedside, and also are charging phones or have lamps plugged in etc.
Other than that, it works well.
