Great customer service – After purchase in NZ, there was a technical issue and after immediate contact with customer service in Australia, and talk through of possible problems and fixes, it was decided to replace product. They contacted supplier here in NZ and all within 2 hours I picked up replacement product . Never have I had such prompt and efficient customer service. A great testament to Oricom and their product and staff. Show reply
Low volume – Hello I have to uhf2500. Even in highest volume they are very quiet. You need to have it right up to your ear to hear. I sent it back thinking it was an issue but they confirmed it was fine. Pretty disappointing!! Show details
Good deal – This product performance is good, of course, the range 13 k is in open spaces, not with obstacles, in cities or towns is less than 2 k. The size is big, and not comfortable The design is like a toy, not that elegant. Charging is not too bad but takes a long time for up to 12 hours. Show details · 1
Great little unit, easy to install and works really well – I love the radio, compact easy to use and when I had a warranty issue i could not be happier with the service Oricom provided, above and beyond Show details · 1
very close – would have given it 5 by 5 if it had an fm radio.....scan could be simplified with a designated key....led light operating independently without turning unit on, is an excellent feature...mostly use this transceiver as a flashlight.....have successfully made contact with a repeater 85 kms away, which is impressive....operating on AA batteries, floating & price, makes this transceiver a great choice for an emergency scenario...well done oricom Show details · 1
Haven’t tried them yet – Since we got the UHF2500 we have not operated them yet, try to figure out how to use them as they have so many features. Hope we will work it out before we travel Show details · 1
Brilliant handheld UHF – Bought this for 4WD recovery and similar communication with my Oricom UHF360 in car unit. My 4 year old son dropped our UHF2500 the first day we got it. Let him try it and when he asked me to pick him up for a cuddle he dropped it onto the garage floor from my head height. I thought it had cracked the case or screen, which would have been no… Read more · 1
surprise, but when I examined it there wasn't a mark on it. Unbelievably tough. Works well with lots of useful features and it does feel more solid and a little larger than I expected, not a little toy, which I was very happy about. A very well made, tough unit. My son loves it too. Excellent value on sale for $69 on the Oricom website.
Compact quality unit with sub channels and digital channels for secure conversations – Compact quality unit with sub channels and digital channels for secure conversations , it has almost 3000 Chanel options once you count the sub and digital so good options for private conversations , has a flashlight and rain /water proof. Our kids love them too. Show details · 1
Disappointed in range and clarity – On highway and driving around flat sparsely vegetated country in SWQLD - very underwhelmed. Doubt ever had communications over 1km. Often struggled less than 500m while stating up to 10km - misleading. Show details
awesome – love this product very handy piece of equipment for any serious 4x4 operator Awesome customer service. Very happy with this purchase and I'm sure you will be too! Just buy one! Show details · 1
Good as expected – It's a better alternative than other available uhf waterproof radios. One handheld was a little soft in voice (microphone). But Oricom warranty is excellent. They've shipped me new set of handheld after I've complained. I wish the size (and weight) could be smaller/lighter. With today's high capacity rechargeables, it may well be use smaller AAA… Read more · 1

Also, I was expecting squelch tail suppression would just work across Oricom radios offerings. Unfortunately, does not work that way. You would get that annoying squelch tail noise when paired with fixed radio such as Oricom DTX4200.
Great for spotting while 4wding – I use my origin handheld mainly for spotting while off-road and have dropped it many times in dirt, mud and on rocks and it’s still working beautifully. Super durable and works great. Definitely recommend to a 4wd enthusiast Show details · 1
Excellent !!! – Used whilst driving. Very good reception. Good battery back up as well. It is useful that it is waterproof. There is no similar product in the market with same features at the same price point. Was purchased on the oricom website. Delivery was super fast as well. brilliant product – very happy with this very versatile product. being waterproof with a flashing light is perfect especially if your going fishing on your own away from others. So easy to use and great display. Everything that comes in the pack makes it a great kit. My first oricom product and I will definitely be back to that brand for more products Show details · 1
Great versatile portable 2way radio – These handheld radios are great for hiking to keep in contact, I like the water resistant feature as I sometimes hike in the rain and the end conversation beep is handy for those who forget to say "over" and the end of each chat The radios are limited by hills which cant be helped and sometimes it is hard to find a exclusive channel but also cant… Read more · 1
be helped, all in all a great portable radio with great battery life(love the feature of using normal AA batteries or being able to charge of a portable battery pack via the usb port)
Excellent – We purchased these radios to assist in reversing the boat down the ramp and into the garage. I am impressed with the ease of use straight out of the box and the sound is crystal clear. Show details · 1

A Handy Handie! – The style of the radio first caught my eye, along with the discount offer which clinched the deal. In my handling of the radio, I could wish it was about one third smaller, but perhaps it is a little larger to make it float better? The scanning feature is painfully slow, more like stepping through the channels than scanning. Setting up how I… Read more
wanted it was quite simple to me, but newcomers might find it somewhat daunting. I would have preferred a removeable antenna, but to keep it simple, I guess it's the way it is. Love the charging/battery idea. A more standard headphone socket might be an advantage with the thought of using smartphone style headsets in future. Selectable screen colours would be a bonus, but I think the orange screen is pretty much-spot on to me. The output power level is adequate for my needs, and can easily access my local repeater twenty odd kilometres away. Overall, the clincher for me was its' appearance, and it being 'floatable'. But I'd be much happier with a much faster scan rate for the price!

Best little handheld I found – Easy to use out of the box and the ideal helper for low volume reversing in the caravan. Wish we had one when I was 40 years younger and Mum and Dad entertained a lot of other caravaners with chat on backing into sites. Show details

My First UHF- sounds good – Using it in conjunction with my caravan. We haven’t really used it properly as yet but the trials are sounding great. The hand pieces are a little bigger than expected but the audio is very clear. Looking forward to getting many years of use from them. Show details · 1
Great product – Almost as good a range as the vehicle mounted unit I have not tested the waterproof ability of the unit yet but battery life and durability are surprisingly robust an also easy to use Show details · 1
