side tables from a different seller. I was able to easily put the bed together by myself with a little improvising. No screws, no Allen key, just slots into place. Instructions provided were easy to follow but easy without. Also purchased an Origin bed in a box QS mattress but haven’t used yet as the bed is for the guest bedroom but my cat loves it. Delivery time good. No hesitation in recommending this bed.
Great supportive and easy to move bed frame – The bed frame was easy to assemble, no tools were required and slotted well together. The bed frame is sturdy and supports me well. I purchased it with the Origin mattress and goes well together in one easy delivery.

I received a faulty bed frame. It was assembled correctly as per the instructions. However, the integrity of this bed frame is poor. The poorly designed and weak legs are too long which has caused splaying of the legs when in use. evidence which I have provided. I suggested initially that the legs are too long. This was ignored and their production team decided that the beam needed to be replaced (this took 3-4 weeks). With the new support beam in place, this has not resolved the problem as the legs are still splaying. Whilst initial contact with Origin was positive, they are now sending delayed replies requesting further photos. The bed frame is not supported and moves, creaks and does not sit in the brackets at each end of the bed because the whole measurements of the frame are off. All of this has been supported by my photos and videos. We have had to resort to removing the legs and propping up the new support beam with a pile of magazines currently to prevent damage to screw housing to the new replacement beam which it what happened to the original beam. Note that during this whole process, I have had to unscrew legs, rescrew legs, replace support beam, take multiple photos/video evidence, use of a spirit level, multiple moving/lifting of mattress causing great strain to my back. Despite beautiful timber, this frame is poorly designed/manufactured and the after sales service is appalling. The worst of it is that Origin will not replace or refund this product so check their terms and conditions before buying. Don't buy this product.

time before we moved house. They did not inform me that the mattress would be delivered but that the bed frame was out of stock. I only found out by sending an email query. We couldn’t have the bed frame before we moved so we had to buy a temporary bed frame. We were finally told they had found a bed frame for us a couple of weeks after moving but it was not delivered. Why? Because the delivery company had taken it to our old address and left it on the porch of a vacant house about to be demolished. It took over a week to get it. Oh, and if you have problems you have to email and wait for a reply because Origin Mattress has no phone number to call!
Then comes the assembly. They say it’s easy and can be done in five minutes with no tools. Not in our case. It took two of us 90 minutes because some of the joints wouldn’t even go close to fitting without persuasion from a rubber mallet. The headboard in particular was difficult as the small connection pieces were bent at slightly different angles and it was like doing a jigsaw to see where they would fit.
There was a small screw in foot missing from one of the centre legs and the slats moved (and continue to move) as soon as we put the mattress on.
If you are willing to go through weeks of trying to get delivery and have someone to help you assemble the pieces, then you will have a nice looking bed. But there are lots of nice looking beds around.
Follow-up · After a year the bed is holding up well. Minimal timber movement sounds. The slats at the foot of the bed still move so I have to pull them into position when I change the sheets. I'm very happy with my Timber Wooden bed frame. Nice looking timber. Assembling it was so easy, no nuts & bolts and I found it holds together very firm with absolutely no movement or creaks in the joins. Great bed frame.
Follow-up · The timber is nicely sealed and varnished. Assembly took me about 30 minutes because each join has to be aligned with the specific corresponding corner piece. My mattress is 260mm thick and it doesn't cover/hide too much of the headboard.

We are completely satisfied with the look and construction of this bed. It is solid, sturdy and does not move when tossing or turning during the night. It is a little higher off the ground than expected although we love the under-bed storage space it has provided. Extremely easy and quick to assemble. Show details
love the feel of the wood, effective no screws fit together structure, all in all a lovely piece of furniture if your mattress is too light there can be some noise from the slats but adjustment of the underbed center support helps with that

The Bad: The website advertises next-day delivery for metro areas. While we understand it was the Black Friday period and demand may have exceeded stock in Melbourne, we didn’t receive our order until 40 days after purchase. Unfortunately, there was no proactive communication about delays — we only received updates after repeatedly following up ourselves.
We made it clear that we needed the beds before Christmas due to guests staying with us. Had stock levels and realistic delivery timeframes been communicated upfront, we would have chosen a different option. Although a small discount was offered after we lodged complaints, it didn’t change the fact that our guests ended up sleeping on the floor.
The company claims that since then it has implemented improvements to its delivery communication workflow and addressed the internal issues within the team to ensure better oversight and clearer updates moving forward.
Overall, the product itself is good, but the delivery experience and lack of communication were extremely disappointing.

Bought a queen bed on 2 Jan 2026 when it arrived the bedhead had 2 chips out of one corner. Took photos and emailed Origin. On 3 Jan received an email response stating someone would be in touch. Initially they offered to refund $100 and not replace the bedhead. We refused and asked for the refund and a replacement bedhead. They then offered one or… Read more
the other. We asked for new bedhead. A month later they delivered a bed frame instead of a bedhead. Three weeks after that and after 46 emails all up we received a 5% discount (less than $50) and the new bedhead. I would not recommend Original Mattress- it is not worth the hassle. You cannot speak with someone if you have a problem and your case is not allocated to one person to deal with. I had at least 3 different people respnd and the response times were days after so I was constantly checking emails to see if I had received a response. Don’t put yourself through it!

Your virtual very quick demonstration as to how easy the pieces simply slot together is rubbish. Not one piece slid in easily. It required physical force and fortunately I had a rubber mallet to help knock things together. Certainly not a 5 minute assembly. The very small instruction sheet was practically useless. I tried YouTube to see if there was a REAL person putting one of these together. God help me if I ever have to disassemble it. I believe your website is misleading and as far as not having a phone contact, it makes sense that you would want to talk to someone if this is example if having a frustrated and unhappy customer.

This is a lovely bed with a really nice wood grain. It wasn't as easy to put together as the little video showed but that could be age-related from my angle! because it was hard to tell which way it should go - either way was a very tight fit! - but I got there eventually. Finally all the pieces were set in place so on went the mattress, the protector and then the bed linen and it looked fine - until one of the legs fell off and 2 or 3 slats fell out! Good job I have a sense of humour but by this time I was tiring rapidly. Ho hum, back to putting the leg back on and the slats in place (thanks to the help of a rubber mallet!), re-make the bed and go and get a relaxing cuppa. Well that was a couple of weeks ago now and the legs and slats have managed to stay in place so I took that as a win! Hubby really loves this bed and says it is very comfortable, so yet another win! I should also mention it is a good height from the floor, so it makes it easier for him to get in and out of bed (unless he's had a fight with the bedclothes - he likes a lot!) It's probably a good idea to put this bed together in situ because I was surprised at how heavy it is to move when the 'trappings' (ie, mattress, protector, pillows and bedlinen) are added. Maybe if we were 20 years younger or had a handy neighbour to put it together for us, it wouldn't have mattered - but 20 years ago, I would probably have bought the queen size bed! One niggle was the contradictory delivery advice. I asked for delivery on Apr 15th, it arrived Apr 22nd but neither date aligned with advice from Origin or the delivery company! However, the driver was extremely polite and friendly and brought the packages inside whilst forbidding my (disabled) husband to help. So a win for the delivery company too!

Average! The queen frame is a bit too small. To make the bed we have to lift the mattress out of the frame. Slats are noisey.
