Miss Pacific Star – She wasn't a big ship, but she was great! Cruise on her in December 2007 on the Christmas cruise around the pacific island. Had the most amazing time. All all the cruises I have been on she was the best! We visited 3 pacific islands and isle of pines was paradise! Christmas Day the crew organised Santa to come on board and all the children got… Read more
their photo with him and he presented them all with a gift. The Kids clubs were brilliant, Buffet was great and the staff were exceptional. Was blown away that out of all the passengers the staff on different decks would greet you by your name. Amazing
Excellent – My mum hopes to take us girls again next year as we had such a good time, only I think this time the ship will be the Sun but would be more than happy to go on the Star again. My husband and I are doing a new years eve cruise with another 20 of our friends on board the Sun Princess and hope to have as much fun as I did on the star. My mother… Read more
decided to take myself, my daughter and my niece on a cruise on the Pacific Star - We all throughly enjoyed our time on board especially the girls they had a great time and made lots of friends. Staff where fantastice, food was great - cruising is the only way to holiday. My mum has done lots of curises (Pacific Skye, QE2 and Queen Mary) and did compare the Star to these ships on the first few days and she was a little disappointed but as we got into the trip she started to enjoy the ship more.
Good – Cruising is a fantastic way to relax and apart from the sickness risk I would recommend it to all age groups. Also in spite of our last cruise having a lot of children on board (due to school holidays I suspect) they were never a problem. We will cruise again. Good value for money; smaller ship than others that we have sailed on but nicely… Read more
planned; the service was mostly very good; we had a very smooth and enjoyable time and met lots of very nice people. We also really liked the fact that there were many non smoking areas. As with the last cruise we started to get sore throats towards the end of the cruise and we have both been quite ill since getting off 6 days ago. I feel the air conditioning transfers germs. I will be looking to a ship with affordable balconies for the next ship so there is fresh air coming into the cabin. We have never been ill when we have had a balcony cabin.
Excellent – By far the best ship P&O have had based in Brisbane, comfortable quiet cabins kept spotless. We did a 9 day cruise to the South Pacific when the Star was based in Brisbane although we left late from Brisbane we arrived in still enough time to have a brief look at what is essentionaly a boring dirty port of call Nomeau seems P&O have to call in… Read more
there to have access to New Caladonia, should give it a miss as it is expensive on shore just buy drinks on the ship.
Don't know why P&O sent this great ship to Asia I know she is a small ship but runs rings around the larger ship the Sun, we seem to get the old cast offs from Sydney wasn't Brisbane supposed to get a relatively new ship the Pacific Jewel???
We are getting from what I have read a ship just as bad as the Sun, the Pacific Dawn and it is advertised as a Super Liner??? Read comments on this site about it. Bring back the Star and we all will be happy, but then again it is all about how many passengers you can cram on a ship isn't it, MONEY AND PROFIT Everything about this ship was great, staff, entertainment, dining room waiters, cabin stewards I can't speak highly enough of how special they make you feel. The only down side to this cruise was the lack of security staff to oversee young passengers running up and down corridors late at night.
Good – Very Good! This was better than we imagined it was going to be and I think that is credited to the entertainment and cabin staff. We were always looked after and never disapointed with the service. We enjoyed it that much we are considering doing the same cruise again. We took our 12 year old daughter and she loved all the kids entertainment. If… Read more
you want to take it easy and relax that can be done but you realy do get the most by participating in the onboard games and fun. We are not big drinkers either so you don't have to be a real party animal to have a good time. Just take the time to enjoy everything on offer. We ate at the restaurants for every meal and were never dissapointed. Looking forward to the next one. WE did a 7 day cruise and loved it. This was our first cruise and were very pleased. The cabins were kept very clean and the food was fantastic. On board entertainment was very good and alot of fun. The after dinner shows were fantastic. The only thing we didn't like was the wait to get off when we returned to Brisbane.
OK – Cruise is a once in a lifetime experience, the entertainment everynight is great, from caberat,to singers, magic shows & comedians.Kids club which allows the kids to met others & gives you a break.Gale force winds made the seas very rough even staff were getting sea sickness shots from the doctor. What ever you do GET THE Injection the moment you… Read more
feel sick or it's to late and you'll miss a few days of fun. Plenty of food you could eat 24/7 but you will put weight on quickly. Stopovers at the south pacific islands was a nice change but getting use to walking on land again without swaying takes a bit of getting use to. Not having to cook or make the bed Rough Seas
OK – I am going again on a cruise on star in two weeks, but if we have any of the above issues again, ill be very dissapointed. Star is leaving Australia and hopefully the newer boat Sun will be better. It was a cost effective holiday for our family of six. We had lots of fun times on board. Kids had an enjoyable time.Staff were wonderful.Noumea was a… Read more
bit of dive, unless you leave the port. The wait at the cruise terminal of 4 hours in the sun with no chairs to sit on.
The previous persons in our cabin left intimate items behind that were missed by the cleaners YUCK.. Rooms are tiny and the airconditioning didnt work for a day, so being in an inclosed room with no airflow, very uncomfortable, and gastro seemed to be going around, and anyone with it was isolated in a cabin on their own.
