this cooker. First the hinged lid means that the lid never falls off the kitchen bench like the old one. Second, the timer control control lets you put it on standby in the morning and rice is cooked to perfection at the nominated time. Third, the non-stick coating still in perfect condition after nearly 4 years of daily use, just a water rinse and its clean for the next load. Makes excellent congee/rice porridge, never boils over , the quick cook is fast, but the white rice mode is slow, and brown rice mode takes about 2 hours, I use this setting for Basmati rice. The plastic body is cool to touch and is very easy to keep clean. The fold down carry handle is useful if you need to carry it to the next room. In Asian countries like Japan and Hong Kong, the Made Japan Panasonic rice cookers of old were the gold standard from the early days, its definately worth to pay the extra price, these new models are just as good, this particular model is actually made in Thailand and is very competitively priced, it may not last for 28 years like the the old one, but if it does, its probably going to outlast me, highly recommended.

works well and tastes good. Rice sometimes can be soggy and you just need to get the right consistency with water.

Love the functions available especially with quick cook.

Not sure how I did without a rice cooker for all these years! – Love this product, cooks the rice to perfection with a minimum of fuss. I was surprised on how quickly it cooked two cups of rice. The most convenient part of the product for me is that you can set it to have your rice cooked at a certain time. Very helpful for those of us that work. Haven't used it for anything else other than rice at this stage.
