Truly amazing communication, great customer service, product was as advertised
Not lockable…. flap slide does not lock!!!. It has a spring pin which is easily opened from outside with one hand. HOUSE NOW UNINSURED !!! To make the flap slide lock you have to source more parts and have them installed … even then who knows if that will work? I’m not prepared to spend more money on their product to try to make it fit for… Read more
purpose. At $899 (plus shipping and adapters cost etc), it should lock as advertised.
Also have been advised as soon as you move locks from the door frames and relocate as per patio links instructions your house becomes uninsured! Doors and security screens are no longer secure when not fully closed as manufactured. For renters, landlords and home owners beware! For me, my family’s safety is more important than my dogs ability to come in and out at will.
When inserted makes the remaining doorway too small to walk through unless walk through sideways. The adjustable top sits out from frame so not flush sealed in the frame.
Spoke to Patio Link - [Name Removed] about it and she refuses to accept a return. So much for the “100% no questions asked money back guarantee” they advertise. Apparently they will only accept a return if it’s never used and still in the box. How can u know what’s wrong with it until it’s installed? False/misleading advertising.
Cost me hundreds in installation and removal. Not to mention the product. Over $1500 spent after all said and done… shipping, product, install etc and no better off.
Have been told by [Name Removed] to sell it on marketplace to get some money back…really?… and pass on these problems to another unsuspecting consumer?… where is the integrity Patio Link?
Patio Link should accept the return … if I bought through PayPal, they would have had to. Know all this before you buy!!!
Very happy customer – I've had my Patiolink medium pet door with an extension for a few months now and I'm very happy with it. It's sturdy and well made; my two toy poodles can go outside by themselves; and I know my security screen door and glass sliding door can be securely locked. The aluminium extension is quite sturdy. Service is outstanding, and I think it's worth the investment for the knowledge my home is secure.
Great company and awesome doggie door – Brilliant customer service. So friendly and helpful. The doggie door is relatively easy to install and is absolutely perfect. My greyhound quickly learnt how to use it and it's honestly money very well spent. The soft flap for greyhounds is perfect. I can't recommend this product and company highly enough!
Didn't receive the product and no response – I placed an order and didn't receive any response for three weeks. I sent two emails within five days, but received no reply. Then I called three times and left a message, but still got no response. Finally, I opened a case with PayPal

Overpriced, shoddy quality, terrible customer service – For over $600 including shipping and adaptor, I'd expect much better quality. The door sat loosely and too shallow in the door frame (particularly at the bottom) to be securely screwed. On closer inspection, this turned out to be because the insert wasn't square. When standing freely it leaned away from the frame and when pushed against the… Read more
frame, the bottom left corner lifted out of the sliding door track. The top of the insert sits 4mm further from the frame than the bottom, which means when the bottom is as far as it will go into the channel (10mm), the top is only in 6mm. Meanwhile at opposite corner, the edge closest to the door is barely sitting in the track. Tilting the insert to sit flush with the side of the frame means that the bottom left corner is unsupported. When I questioned them on this, they denied that the insert wasn't square and told me it was my door frame that wasn't square. I sent photos demonstrating that the door closed with a consistent 35mm gap between the glass and frame, to which they gave no response.
They then offered to provide feet for the insert, which would fit in the tracks, but would leave it a noticeable gap between the frame and insert in the process.
Other quality issues include the mohair strip not fitting in the grooves, and significant flexing when attempting to drill the lock in. The Patiolink logo wasn't even stuck on straight. This is a level of quality that they're proud of, for some reason.
When I informed them that the mohair strip did no t fit in the groove, they dismissed it as irrelevant as I had purchased an adaptor. Even though I bought an adaptor, the mohair strip should still be able to fit. The adaptor is sold as an optional extra, so the insert should be able to function without it.
The adaptor is much too wide and attaches to the insert rather than directly to the frame. I wouldn't trust the adaptor to actually be secure, especially when they recommend that the insert be attached to the frame with a single screw where the female part of the lock would normally go. I wouldn't be suprised if this voided your home insurance.
At that price point I would also expect the insert to match the door width, so it sits in the frame with the same stability as the sliding door. Instead it's a few millimetres too wide at the bottom and a few millimetres too narrow at the top. How hard can it be to check the door widths from the most popular manufacturers and size your product accordingly?
Excellent customer service? They claim that they always check measurements with customers before shipping, but I had no communication from them. While they offered a refund, their return policy states that products cannot be used (how am I supposed to know if it works without using it?) and return shipping must be paid by purchaser, which contradicts Australian Consumer Law (return costs of bulky items must covered by the retailer).
If I find a fault with the product, it shouldn't matter if it is before or after installation, or relating to the installation itself. It is not possible to determine exactly how the finished product will look and function untill it is installed. It is therefore unreasonable to restrict refunds to before installation only. If I knew that the insert would sit on legs noticeably above the door track, be held onto the frame with a single screw and require finishing what they should have done themselves by cutting an opening for the mohair strip, I would not have purchased it.
Given that the insert is defective (not square) and if returned would not be resold, I would have been happy to accept a refund, dispose of the insert and send proof of doing so instead of shipping it back if they were concerned about the cost.
The XL door is big enough for my small golden retriever, but a medium to large one would struggle. I wouldn't want it any wider however, as it takes up a lot of space in the door. For large dogs, a flap integrated into the door is a better solution, which I have since been able to get from a local glazier for $800.
Worth every penny! – If long term use and security of your home is important to you then you won't find a better pet door. We started with a "cheaper" door and were disappointed with the fit in the door frame and how flimsy it was. We just didn't feel secure with the cheap door. We decided to invest in a Patio Link pet door. Yes, they are a bit more expensive but… Read more
after wasting money on a cheaper door, I can see where the value in the Patio Link pet doors is. (You get what you paid for.)
They are built VERY solid! Heavy metal frame that is really sturdy and secure. The frame is designed really well and sits much better in our sliding door frame and with the built-in weather strips it seals off the elements.
As standard, the door comes with a locking bracket to lock your glass sliding door. This was easy to install and means that we can still use our sliding door and lock it easily when needed. The 5mm tempered safety glass is great and because the panel is in one piece it looks a lot better than the cheaper ones that are split in 2 pieces and are nowhere near as solid.
The door also comes with a lockable aluminium flap cover. This is really secure and much more solid than the plastic flap covers that the cheaper doors have. Even compared to the "Modern Pet doors" metal locking flap, this is so much more secure and easy to use.
We didn't want to have to take out our doggy door every time we left the house because we were worried that it was weak and not secure. Since installing our Patio Link pet door, we have been very happy with the build quality and security it offers. It looks great and our groodle loves it too.
Pawfect product and installation – Had PatioLink door installed into dbl glass sliding doors. The product is excellent quality with glass inserts, powder coated to match the existing doors, fully lockable & secure. Had the door installed by "The Dog Door Guy". Michael is a personable lovely chap to deal with. His work is precise and he cleaned up after finishing, You can buy cheaper at that hardware outlet & DIY but be prepared to be disappointed.:)
