Good old grill – I have had this one for around 4 years and it’s getting a bit tired in places but still cooks like a charm. I replaced the flame tamers with ceramic bricks / put the tamers on the right hand side with a open grill - with a few mods like smoker trays etc I regularly low & slow cook racks of ribs & pork loin up on the warmer tray and they are every bit as good as the u tube boys - every day grilling is marinated butterfly chicken and the like hood down ( with roast Veges)- hood up snags, burgers, chops brekkies - I use the rotisserie for chooks & roasts ( take the grills out for more room and counter balance on the outside wok burner lid off - Dunno about the knockers but for my $350 I have had a lot of fun with this unit - patience, trial & error go a long way in the cooking world

Purchased in at Benowa.

Get what you pay for – I bought this from BBq Galore 2 years ago for less than $400 (marked down from $700) based what appeared to be a reasonable bbq that had all the functions I was after. When using it for the first time I noticed that the main burners do not extend all the way the front of the bbq. So what looks like a large hotplate and grill area is only ~75% useful as the front section doesn't heat properly. When trying to roast on the bbq I noticed that the hood also has a large opening at the rear from which most of the heat escapes. The roast took hours to cook and probably chewed through half a tank of gas. I didn't even bother installing my rotisserie kit based on this experience.

The grill side of the bbq experiences the worst flame ups I have ever experienced. Even through it has flame tamers installed, they don't work and you have to watch the food constantly to avoid charring fat fires starting. On leaving some chops cooking while I went inside to get some more items from the fridge (no more than 2 minutes), I returned to find a fully fledged fire had erupted inside and outside the bbq. The outside hood paint even caught fire (which I didn't think possible) and subsequently peeled off in one section.

I also have problems with cooking fats & grease somehow getting into the metal joins and running down the legs, which I am constantly trying to clean off so it doesn't stain my deck.

While this bbq may look OK and seem to tick the boxes, functionally its garbage. If I'd paid full price for this I would be extremely p!ssed. You get what you pay for. If my previous 15yo BBq hadn't rusted itself apart I would gladly be using it instead of this. I am off looking for a replacement brand name bbq with good reviews before I purchase again. temperature gauge, side burner, electronic ignition does cook properly, bad flame ups, leaking grease

great buy – This BBQ is great, easy set up, cast iron hot plate and grill patsio ignition for quick flame. used it a few times a week and have never had a problem. The meat cooks great and the hotplate is awesome when cooking those curries i love cooking. Truly a great purchase. cast iron, ignition, great storage could be more slim line

Good – Good value for money - for the price. My rating is based on the fact that I paid $350 for this BBQ, and for that price you can't expect an awful lot more than this one provides. It's an entry level barbecue and it does the job accordingly. It was allegedly marked down from $700, but I would suspect that it was marked up to be marked down because at $700 you'd be very disapointed with the quality.

Electric ignition is separate, which is great - means there is less wear and tear on your control knobs. Stainless steel burners and cast iron cooking surfaces, which is good for BBQ's in this price range.

It's good to be able to store the gas bottle on the inside, if that is your thing, but the hose is flexible enough so that you can store the bottle on the outside. Anybody who has had a BBQ go up in flames will know why keeping it on the outside is safer.

All in all, it's a good BBQ if you're on a budget, but I have to say that for my next BBQ I'd be spending over $1,000 and getting something that will last. Looks good when new, separate piezo electric ignition, hooks to hang your BBQ tools, ability to store gas bottle inside or outside. Cheaply built and it feels a bit cheap, however, it's about right for the price and where it's manufactured. No ridged area on the hot place - the whole thing is flat, meaning you can't get those "bbq stripes" on your meat

Poor quality poor design – This Barbeque is functional as a hotplate. All the burners and ignitors work very well and provides good control of the heat. The hotplates could be a little heavier to ensure even heat dissipation however this is manageable. The frame itself is of a low quality, having been built out of light weight steel, it flexes and wobbles and therefore I would not recommend this BBQ for areas where it needs to be moved regularly.

I installed a rotisserie on this BBQ and again this has been problematic. The whole hood flexes under any load. Setting up the rotisserie was fraught with customisation due to the lack of available holes to set the unit up at the right level. Additionally the hole for the rotisserie is very small and therefore the unit needed to be set up precisely as not to impinge on the hood. This was made more difficult by the flex in the hood when loaded.

Finally, the space between the hood and rotisserie means that only small roasts can be cooked. The counter balance on the rotisserie could not be fitted (about 4" long) as it contacted the hood

Overall a very dissappointing unit that will probably be going to the local tip as its not even worth giving away beacause the person who you give it to will hate you forever. not alot, but the burners, ignitors and the gas hotplate all worked reasonably well The person who built this has never used a barbeque, I would poke him/her in the eye if we ever met
