Brilliant service and assistance – Haider and his staff (Patrick and Kobe)are brilliant! I had issues with my laptop and not a great budget. Not only did Haider replace my laptop but copied all my data and ensured it was 100%. Haider is a most caring professional and I recommend this business to anyone. Outstanding service. Thankful, Deb

It is not worth it. Read this before you buy – Today I purchased an item for this retailer and was charged $65. At the time I thought it was highly-priced so when I arrived home I checked around. Umart is selling precisely the same product for $29. I also checked on Amazon Australia and they were selling the same product for $34.95. I understand business and the need to profit from every item,… Read more

but this was a blatant robbery. I share my experience as a deterrent for anyone thinking of purchasing anything at PC Choice Wynnum Plaza. Do your research first, and remember: Buyer beware.

A quick repair – My lap top computer would not charge. The problem appeared to be the connection between the lead and the computer. I paid a visit to one computer repair shop but they appeared to be vague with a solution. So I decided to mail order a new lead. I had to order a complete lead, not just the part that connects to the computer. The lead arrived but… Read more

did not work. I then decided to try another computer repair shop and PC Choice at Shailer Park south of Brisbane was close. The technician tried a universal lead and it made a good connection. The price was a bit less than the mail order lead. The technician then found a second hand lead and this also worked. He said I could just buy the transformer part of the lead for $30, saving $70 to $80 dollars on a new lead. I was offered a guarantee and a credit if the lead failed. Finally I had a satisfactory solution. This lead has now lasted over two years. I later had a problem on my desk top computer. The DVD RW drive took an accidental knock when the disc carrier was out and it was jammed open. I had managed to press the plastic parts back into place but could not press the disc carrier back into the tower. Taking the computer tower to PC Choice the technician gently but firmly pushed the disc carrier back making sure the power ribbon folded back correctly. There was no charge for this repair. The drive has now worked ok for over a year. The technician told me he could fit a new DVD RW drive if necessary in about 15 minutes and the price was not expensive. Finally I learnt that the mail order lead was the wrong type and they agreed to take it back and gave me a full refund. While PC Choice prices for more serious computer repairs may be comparable to other repairers they have a good knowledge of computers and could be worth a visit. They also sell accessories. They also have a shop at Wynnum near Brisbane but I have not been there.
