2 years on and it's still run as new – I bought this pram as a recommendation from a friend and also missus loves it. The one thing that attract me is the way the pram handle can be altered to forward facing or back facing. This function is really good if you have a newborn and would like to see their cutie little face all the time and later on as they grow older you can alter the… Read more

handle so it will back facing where they can see the amazing world we currently live in. The pram can be a bit heavy for you to lift it so be careful when you lift it, other than that everything is ok. We got it for $350 from Baby expo which is a good price. As our child grow older we will keep this one for our next since we are happy with it.

Awesome pram/stroller – I bought a peg perego stroller/pram for my 2 yr old granddaughter. I love the fact that the handle is reversible, and once you get used to using it both ways it's great. It turns really well on the little wheels, so when you reverse the handle you have to get used to turning it with the pressure more on the back wheels(small wheels). It is a… Read more

larger stroller with a drink tray for the little one to put her drink and snacks on, but she plays with her dolls on it so it serves a good purpose. It supports my granddaughter well, and lies flat when she is asleep, her legs hang over a little bit, but not that it makes her uncomfortable as like the previous stroller I had for her. The hood covers her fully when she is asleep. It's easy to fold up once you get the knack, and takes up quite a bit of boot space, so if you have a small car - maybe not a good choice for you. I love the stroller, and when my daughter has her new baby in January I will be able to use it as a full pram for the new born...it's awesome and I love it. Peg perego us a great brand. Large enough girl my granddaughter, easy to push and gold A bit on the big side for the car boot.

Dangerous, should be taken off the market – This is not a cheap pram and while the materials are good quality - with the exception of the wheels (which are soft plastic and were completely trashed after one outing), it is beyond awkward to steer when the baby is facing you. Flip the handle to the other side, however, and the small front wheels will become stuck in any small dent in the… Read more

ground and the entire pram will overbalance and tip forward meaning your child will fall face first into the ground and you will be injured by the sudden flip up of the undercarriage. I paid around $700 for this pram in "gala" print. When i picked it up from the baby bunting warehouse, the guy looked at the price and told me i was a "galah" for purchasing it. He was absolutely right. Far and away the worst product i have ever purchased. Hard wearing material, relatively easy to fold down, generous storage space underneath seat, sunshade provides good cover. Unsafe, difficult to steer, heavy, need a screwdriver to remove lining to wash.

Aweful – This pram is terrible! It is flimsy, the hand brake broke after like a month, the hood bends out of shape easily in the boot so it looks very lop sided. It is horrible to push, the front wheels spin around and get stuck so when you push you can't go anywhere, this was especially frustrating on a recent trip to the city. This pram was almost… Read more

dangerous trying to catch a train or use the escalator because of the front wheels getting stuck. Horrible. Storage basket relatively big. Expensive, flimsy, front wheels make it hard to push as they swivel the wrong way and the pram won't move.

Excellent product – We had the predecessor of the Peg UNO 14 years ago for our eldest child and loved that it was lightweight for it's size (not the lightest pram on the market, but for a well cushioned pram that has an enclosed basinet position it is very light), had a good sized canopy, reversible handles and other features so I was keen to find a newer model when… Read more

we had another baby last year.

We discovered the UNO, and after looking at other options on the market, purchased it. I've read many of the other reviews and would like to answer some of the negative comments about it:

1) Many complain it is expensive, I disagree, we paid $350 for ours (brand new from Toys R Us) and although I believe the recommended retail price is close to $800, I have never seen it sold for that in any baby stores I've been in.

If you are considering this pram, shop around, you can get it for well under $500. Many other prams with cosy basinets that are suitable for toddlers and beyond need a separate basinet and toddler seat purchase adding to the cost.

2) I've read some find it difficult to use. Specifically, steering when the handle is in the reverse position (because in that position the swivel wheels are in the rear). I found this super easy to get used to and in 6 months of use...no accidents caused by steering difficulties.

Another complaint is about reversing the handle, the boot cover loops get in the way, this was easily fixed in about 1 minute without making any permanent adjustments or damaging the pram by reversing the order in which the two loops go over the hook at the sides (this will make sense if you are examine how the boot cover attaches), now the handle swings smoothly in both directions without catching on the fabric.

The final common usability complaint is that the pram is difficult to 'step' up gutters in the reverse handle position due to the swivel of the back wheels but I have found that by simply locking the wheels into position (can be done quickly and easily by foot), the pram can be tilted back towards me so I can 'step' it up a gutter or doorway.

3) The 'Freedom of Movement Harness'. This harness, like most Peg Perego prams is not attached at the shoulders to the pram, which enables a toddler to lean forward and look around, but they are still firmly held in the pram at the hips. Some users have complained that their toddler can climb out of the harness.

The shoulder straps should be adjusted to fit firmly on the shoulders which stops a toddler standing up or climbing out, but allows them to see what is going on. It is not a running pram and at normal walking speed, a child does not need to be as tightly restrained as they do in a car for example. Australia has some of the toughest safety standards in the world when it comes to baby equipment and these harnesses have met our strict safety standards for walking prams (when used correctly).

4) The final big complaint I have read is that the pram 'feels flimsy' and I must say that I agree, it does initially feel a little bit flimsy as did my 14 year old version of this pram, but my older pram lasted 2 of my children, my 3 nieces and many children I cared for after my two had grown out of it.

My new UNO can be shaken slightly from side to side from the handle (I think this is what people are referring to when they say it is flimsy, but I use this motion when stationary to soothe my baby to sleep) but it handles a significant amount of groceries in the under basket, a heavy nappy bag on the handle and a toddler standing on the back without any problem. I feel confident that this pram will last as well as it's predecessor did.

The big plusses of this pram are that it is simple, while still being very comfortable for baby.

A lot of the trendy prams now require dismantling to fold up. To fold up prams like Bugaboo, iCandy, Steelcraft Cruiser or Stokke you first remove the seat and put it on the ground, then collapse the frame (some also removing the wheels at this point) and put frame in car then pick up seat and put that in car.

I wouldn't be happy if I'd spent $1000 on a pram then had to put the seat on the ground in a dirty carpark. I can fold the UNO with one hand and one foot (I use two hands to then get it into the boot). To unfold it, I hold the handle and flick. It clicks into place and then I adjust the seat for my baby and reverse the handle if I wish. Very simple. The faster I can fold up or set up my pram, the less time my baby has to cry in the car waiting for me to get ready.

The UNO's simplicity doesn't mean it is missing anything, in the layback position it is completely flat and when the boot cover is on, it makes a cosy basinet for baby (protects baby from wind and sun). The upholstery is very well padded, but the fabric is designed more for easy cleaning than comfort so I have put a generic pram liner in it so my baby is lying on a soft comfy surface.

My baby is starting to want to sit up a little bit for short periods and the half recline position is perfect for a baby learning to sit. It also has an upright position, adjustable footrest and toddler stand on both sides (so an older child can ride along standing on whichever side the handle is on). The handle is height/angle adjustable.

Travel system: The Peg Perego Viaggio capsule clips in to the seat easily. I believe that because it is a 'trifix' clip system that most newer capsules in Australia are also compatible with this pram.

There are capsule compatibility charts available online to determine exactly which seats will clip into which prams, and I believe there are also adapters available for those that don't fit. I don't have enough details on that though I'm sorry.

I apologise that this review is so long, but I felt this pram had received quite a bad rap, and every negative I have read about it has not been so in my experience with both the older version and the current model. The UNO is a deceptively sturdy pram that is versatile, classically good looking, easy to use, relatively lightweight, adaptable and designed with baby and toddler comfort and development in mind. Cosy basinet position, reversible handle, easy to open and fold, stands alone when folded, toddler tray, toddler stand for older child, easy clean fabric, well padded upholstery, large basket easily accessible even in basinet position, boot cover, classic carriage style. My baby is comfy, cosy and happy in it! The fabric is stiff, so liner or blanket is needed for a young baby, recommended retail is pricey ($800) so shop around.

Terrible – Was given this pram and absolutely hate it, it's unstable, flimsy, terrible with uneven floor surfaces, brake gets stuck when it is released, and has even tipped over with capsule and baby in it! Looking to replace it ASAP! And would not recommend it to any one! Worst pram ever Capsule Tipped over, flimsy, unstable

Love this! – I've had my UNO for 2.5 years, I've loved it from day one and still love it now. Super quick and easy to fold, easy to push, love the 3 levels of reclining, don't find the upright too upright. Fits through small places easy, checkout aisles are generally no problem. We've spent a lot of time in hospital and this has been fantastic- we can load it… Read more

up and carry all our things in, I can do it alone.

Cannot say enough good things about this pram! I researched very thoroughly before purchasing and have not regretted it for one minute. Friends I know are on to their 3-4 pram with their second child! This will easily last us through our next child (and beyond!) Easy to push, easy to fold, can fit on one back seat of a falcon if boot is needed. Only slight problems would be its a little harder to push reversed- but not enough to not like it! No toddler seat option if planning close together.

Wouldn't buy it again – I wanted a stroller I could use for a newborn and face them. This does that, but as others have said, it's a pain to steer in this position, and impossible to go down escalators and on/off trains (always had to move handle to other direction). It's awkward to change the handle direction when the boot cover is on as the cover gets in the way. As… Read more

bub got older, I liked this less and less (bub is now 8 months old and I don't use it any more). It only has 3 different recline levels, flat, nearly flat, and bolt upright. When inclined, the seat part is flat, rather than tilted back and so bub slides down the pram ending up slumped with his chin on his chest. He's not a big baby but when I used it recently with his coat on, he could barely fit his arms by his side. The basket is large and can fit loads into it, but has sagged with only a little use and now drags lower. The cup holder isn't wide enough to take a steel drinking bottle. On a positive note, the hood got marked in the car but cleaned up nicely. It looked great in the shop and being a first time mum, I didn't really know what would be 'needed' in a buggy. I have since bought a Maclaren Quest for a trip overseas. Bub loves it so much that we no longer use the Peg. Thought it was expensive for what you get, especially when you consider that the Peg car capsule is over $400 and given the short amount of time you face bub for, I wouldn't pick this again. Big basket, cleans up well, easy to adjust seat incline up and down with one hand. Lack of seating positions/uncomfortable seated positioning, awkward to steer, difficulty using escalators, stairs etc in rear facing position.

Perfect! Just what I needed and wanted! – I love all the features of this amazing pram! Finally someone has thought of it all! Where do I start - it's got a reverse handle so you can see you baby or face your toddler out to the world, or keep the sun out of their eyes; it's got a huge hood/canopy that pulls right down to the front bar to keep the light out to let them sleep; big shopping… Read more

Everything, great value for money, easy to use, practical and covers every eventuality! a bit tricky to attach the capsule the first time, but after reading the instructions again it was very simple!

When reversed to face bub steering becomes very difficult as the rear wheels do not swivel.

Hood of pram is not suitable to put much on as it will collapse.

The clips which hold the material to the pram are not very secure, i gave up attaching the material over and over.

I paid nearly half price for it from America at 450 including shipping, when in Aud it was around 800

April 24th, 2017 Update: Great classic pram

Very happy with my peg perego uno. Purchased cheaper online. Comes with all of what I wanted in a pram. Newborn and up. Large under carry basket, cup holders, reverse handle. Light weight. Front cover for wind protection. Large single back wheels. Smaller front double wheels.

Lasted through 2 of my kids and a trip through Europe. Minor wear occurred on the top of the hood, material could have been a little better, wear on foam around handle. Can't use the hood to rest anything on. Using pram in reverse was a little hard to steer as the large back wheels don't swivel. Excellent price.

All up though I don't regret my purchase and would happily buy another.

Excellent – I use this as my main stroller from full days out shopping through to days at the park. It pushes lovely. On long days out my 3 year old hitches a ride on the step. Easy to steer, big basket, toddler can hitch a ride, lays flat for newborn, rear faces, can fit a large toddler, well padded, stylish looks, convenient location of the brake, folds easily and is fairly compact for a full size stroller, good all round stroller that will last from birth until 3 or four years of age. At first I wasn't too keen on the freedom of movement harness but after using it I now like it.

Bad – I would not recommend this product. Which is a shame because it could be great if only they would attach the small wheels with metal casing and perhaps change to a different rubber or air-pump tyres. Oh yes and throw in the rain cover! stroller style. Comfortable seat. One touch brake is excellent - unlike other reviewers ours still works great after 5 months of everyday use (touch wood!). Expensive, lucky we got ours as floor stock for $500 as opposed to full price of about $800. Rain cover costs $100 extra - what a ripoff as it's expensive already and the cover is essentially a bit of clear plastic with a zipper attached. Unlike other reviewers we found the steering to be shocking in BOTH modes. The small wheels are terrible. They are: attached to the pram with cheap plastic, made of a rubber which sticks to some surfaces (eg Woolworths supermarket), and do not have a counter weight to help them swing back into the stright steering alignment. Which means there is terrible turning circle - can't do sharp turns. Also the wheels sometimes swing sideways going down a ramp (such as at a crossing). So very often the wheels get stuck at an angle or sideways when you are trying to go straight and then 'lock up' causing us to stop dead and for the plastic the wheel are attached to to bend. One of ours is now at a permanent slight bend. It has become a bit unsafe as the wheels now sometimes 'lock' partway across a crossing!! We have to do a 'wheelie' and push the pram the rest of the way on its big wheels just get out of the way of traffic, and then deal with it on the other side. A repair is not an option for the bent wheel casing as it will just be replaced with another cheap plastic one. Not a fan of ease of movement harness as baby keeps ending up slumped over to the side. Not sure if it will contain her as a determined toddler (assuming the wheels last that long).

Love it! – A cool looking pram that covers all the features I was looking for- one piece fold, light, trendy, reversible handles. These criteria combined are hard to fulfill but peg per ego UNO has mastered it. Terrible – Bought new in March 2010. 1st used in July after my wife gave birth to our baby in late May. First issue was noise on the wheel. Called the baby retail shop to get a job repair number. for 3 hours and got it back.

My baby was 7 months when we discovered that the right brake was slipping off backward when in elevation. Got the job number again, took the pram to the local repair shop and was told they have to order the brake. They recommended to use foot brake. Not knowing that I was recommended with the older feature I said yes.

Waited for 2 weeks and I got no call from the local repairers, I called them only to find out they had received the wrong parts. Not very happy, I called the distributor and was told they are going to send the correct parts using overnight shipment. I did requested the distributor to send the original hand brake replacement.

Waited for a week but was told by local repairer that they still have the wrong parts. Call the distributor again and was promised they will send the correct hand brake using another over night delivery.

Now on the forth week, I called up local repaired to find out if they have received the handbrake, but was told they have not received it. So I called the distributor again and demanded a different repaired or replacement. First request is not possible because there is ONLY ONE repaired in my area. Demand the replacement as I do not want to risk injuring my baby, was told the supervisor is on holiday. Told the rep there must me more than 1 person in the organisation that can make a decision, was told the manager is ALSO on HOLIDAY. What a COINCIDENCE!!

These are some of my points:

1) Research who the pram repairers are for the brand. If there is only 1 repairer, avoid them.

2) Why the hell the ONLY repairers not been given the spare parts as stocks?

3) The fact that in the last 4 weeks I had to call both the parties despite they promise to call me, they don't know what "Customer service" is. I would rate them worse than many teleco customer service.

Will I buy their product again? NO!!!! Reversible and lighter than comparible products. Plastics, poor quality

OK – It has alot of good points, but I do not think that it is a safe pram. The harness comes away too easily from the seat. If this were rectified, it would be great, but I can't recommend it. and isn't too wide, it can fit through checkouts. The handle is reversible with a simple click and push, you don't have to reverse the seat. The capsule just clicks into the seat, you don't have to take anything out. The clips for the hood are plastic and wear down over time. The hood unclips every time you open it. The material on the seat twists every time you unfold it. My biggest gripe is the harness. It is called a "freedom of movement harness" and what this means is that the shoulder straps are held to the seat by a very shallow plastic clip. If a toddler wriggles it is completely useless and comes away from the seat. Not very safe and I question how it passed Australian standards.

Good – We also considered mountain buggy jogger with add-on bassinet and Phil and Teds which was around the same price. comfortable in this pram. When you get used to it can easily steer backwards through narrow areas. Would never pay this much again for a pram/stroller. We bought this because

1. it was lighter than everything else we had looked at (around 10-11 kgs) to lift into the car boot.

2. it is compact enough to fit into a small car boot.

3. it converted from a pram facing you to a stroller.

We drove this around the shop floor and it seemed easy to manouvre around and fold down. We chose this also because it is a very nice looking pram, we got the Tango colour (red). I love being able to see my baby whilst walking. It's been amazing for her to sleep in while little and very safe. Can fit a mountain of shopping in the storage basket. Great for shopping centres, not heavy at all to steer. Fits through narrow supermarket checkouts. Baby is about 5 months old and have now started facing outward so baby can see more, Have a very big baby so this model is fine. Baby also had reflux so the halfway position has been good for her to even sleep in. Also this model takes up less space when in use than most three wheeler models. 1. Shade canopy button attachments are very flimsy and come undone when collapsing.

2. The brakes stopped working (father in-law fixed it).

3. Pram foot attachment cover is also very flimsy and comes unzipped easily, and when converting handle gets stuck.

We found this very difficult to assemble out of the box.

Was concerned the seating was not very cushioned for babe, so had blankets for her to lay on. When we used this for the first time we were amazed at how bumpy the ride was, we were walking outside on the footpath. Could easily fix this with removeable padded head insert support and cushioned supports for the straps. This should've been included at least for the price and premium brand.

The convertible model does also not fit the universal uv protection or rain protection covers while in pram mode. Have to have the shade canopy right down and the pram cover zipped up to offer protection, then baby can't see anything outside.

Only has 3 seat positions, flat, recline halfway and straight up.

Plastic doesn't wear well.

and p3 prammette were much better quality. I did consider the skate too but that was huge, although this pram has a few issues I still think it is the best pram on the mkt, but if you could get the old model venezia do it! Good luck Reversible handle, huge bed (my long 10 monther still can sleep in it) and it is part of the pram not a separate bit, step for toddler to stand on, easy to collapse, luggage space under pram large and is spring loaded making it easy to get at when bub sleeping, hood moveable, food tray, not too heavy, The brake on mine is faulty!!! It looks like the brake is on when it isn't, bit scary. Took it back to the shop I bought it from and they send it back to manufacturer and they don't know how long I will be without my pram, weeks at least- a major con. The buttons, as mentioned on previous reviews, always pop open - drives you nuts. A little annoying to push in reversed position, but you get used to it. On this note, the stickers on the side of the pram rub and wear out everytime you flip the handle. The peg perego label in the pram is only a sticker and started peeling off after 1st week (bit of a risk for bubs if they get a hold of it and want to put everything in their mouth like mine), the cup holder keeps catching on things - but you can just take it off, and the tether strap fell off after 2 weeks.

Excellent – This is an excellent pram! I love it! Although, make sure you purchase a 2009 model Uno! Not only is the hood better, but the seat fabric has so much more padding. fine. Also although it can be hard to get to the under seat storage bag when it's laying flat, the storage base is spring loaded, so you can pull it down to get things in (i don't know how many people actually realise that). I love my uno and although it's not the 'perfect' pram it's pretty close and i don't think there is one out there that is! There are so many good features in this pram! Number 1 is obviously it's easy to use reversible handle. It has a huge under seat storage capacity. It's great that even when you use it in stroller mode, it can lay back flat, unlike the Bugaboo Cameleon, Steelcraft Strider and others on the market. I love the detachable bassinet cover that goes over the top! If you have a child like mine, that hates being strapped in, this is a must when they are little as there is no way they can fall out! It also helps prop bub up when they are in that awkward stage when they can't quite sit up, but want to see the world. It had an easy 'grandma proof' fold compared to some others. I love the easy to use hand brake and cup/food tray for toddlers. No toddler seat available! I have the 2008 model and the hood on this is quite flimsy. I need to replace mine already and I've only been using it for 6 months (it's only a 90 day warranty on the hood). I have been told by a local repairer that this is a 2008 model problem and that the 2009 model hood is so much better. Also there are press studs that help hold the hood on which come undone all the time, a little annoying, but hey it's manageable. I am a little worried about the way these press studs will wear though, one half is plastic, the other is metal. Just hoping that the metal doesn't wear down the plastic too much. It is a little more difficult to steer when bub is facing you. Only because the small swivel steering wheels are at the back. I don't find the turning that difficult really, but if you have to make a really tight turn (through narrow shopping isles etc.) just remember that you are steering with the back wheels so you'll need to make the turn sharper... or just pull it backwards. It's really not that hard!

The reversible handle which allows you to see bub and the brake on the handle bar. Also the storage basket is quite large, very helpgul since you can't hang anything off the handle (unless ofcourse you buy a mummy hook). *Very uncomfortable, hard and annoying to steer when in reverse position

*Quite large - did not fit into my boot (i have a small car and because the baby seat hooks into the boot, the pram would not fit. Definately just a pram for the shops (if it can fit through the aisles) - doesnt really go up curbs well either

Excellent – As mentioned above, this is one of my all time best things that I have purchased for my bub (I got it on sale for about $630 whereas I think the RRP is somewhere around $840). I love that it has a reversible handle. The underneath storage is pretty good but can be a little awkward to use when you have the back down flat ..... not unreasonably… Read more

so though. It is VERY easy to put up and down and I believe folds down into a neat compact size which conserves boot space compared to other prams I looked at. It may be only a little bit lighter than other options but that little bit makes a big difference.

Others have mentioned that it is a little difficult to steer when in the reverse set up and I agree with this but I also agree that you get used to it and ultimately you will use it in the forward facing position for the greater percentage of the life of the pram. This one of my all time favourite things that I have in relation to my bub (apart from my bub himself). It is attractive, lightweight, compact when collapsed, easy to put up and down, and has a reversible handle. The pop buttons that you use to affix the hood to the bassinet section of the pram tend to pop off all the time, it doesn't really effect the use of the pram but it is a little irritating (more so for my husband than me). The mesh fabric of the basket has torn a little bit but I think this is more my fault than the manufacturers. Doesn't come with an activity bar.

Good – Overall, I really like this pram. It isn't flimsy and easily carries my 4 year old just as easily as it carries my 5 month old. I especially like the colours, mine is the tango colour (red with silver interior). I do have my gripes and expected more from a pram this expensive, so glad I got it on sale! As I have already said, the brake has… Read more

broken so I'm without my pram for at least 2 weeks. I'm very unhappy with this but luckily I have my cheaper prams that have never broken to rely on! Also, the hood is misshapen and I have never been able to get it to sit right, it annoys me a lot!

I don't think I would buy this pram again as much as I like it as I don't think it is worth the expensive price tag. It is very light though and easy to push around. I certainly wouldn't take it off road though unfortunately, more the look of it than anything but I only bought it to push around the shops etc. Ease of reversing the handle, the weight and the style of it. Can be a bit hard to get used to when pram is reversed (bubs looking at you) but you get used to it. The brake on my Uno broke and it isn't even 6 months old! I've never been able to get the hood to sit right, hopefully that will be fixed while the brake is getting fixed.

holder is really handy and the fact that we dont have to switch from bassinet to toddler seat. the size makes it a bit hard to manouvre, not very easy to steer, the weight

Good – I've been very happy with my purchase of this pram, we were a bit hesitant at first because of it's price tag but has proved to be well worth the money. Steers well and love being able to look at bub. I have since recommended this pram to friends. Love the reversible handle, especially when bub very small. Hood very flexible and allows you create… Read more

a bit of privacy for bub. What I like most about this pram, and the main reason why I chose it, was it's weight. Just over 10kg, far less than many other prams. Does not accommodate a second child.
