A really sorry and sad state of affairs. It was wonderful, about 23 years ago. Now, its a germ infested, people infested, luke warm school excursion that is overpriced and ridiculously sub standard. Show details

Order 3 Pizzas at Amphitheatre Cafe @ Mornington Peninsula Hotsprings. At $26 each something tasted not quite right. Struggled to eat more than a slice and left. Three other customers also did the same. 7 pizzas uneaten certainly confirms something is not quite right with the ingredients. Show details

We had two gift certificates at Peninsula Hot Springs and it expired by 2 weeks as we had misplaced them and then found them again...they would not honor it....cash was given to them yet they dont care as it's 'their policy'. We would recommend Peninsula Hot Springs to people and go there often but will never go there again. Show details

I will never use this service nor will I ever recommend it. To not honor a few $100 gift voucher months after it expired. We were gifted this through covid, then had a baby then went through a divorce and did not have the ability to use. Why would a multi million dollar company not honor this - it was free money being handed over to them for no act in service. disgraceful. Show details

Hot springs no more, instead an overcrowded waterpark – Like many other places, services and products (and arguably the entire country), Mornington Peninsula Hot Springs has also fallen victim to enshittification and gone backwards as a result of rampant greed and excessive immigration. The place is no longer peaceful because inconsiderate people bring their children who they don't bother to control… Read more

or discipline (and since they are inconsiderate themselves they do not teach their kids importance of being considerate to others) and who end up running around screaming acting like the place is some sort of waterpark like Raging Waters when it's actually a hot springs that is meant for rest and relaxation. It also gets extremely crowded these days because of greed and all the new arrivals that have been shovelled into the country meaning that the peaceful visit you were hoping for ends up becoming chaotic and stressful which is the exact opposite of what you want when you visit!

The place has become so commercialised that the owners are more interested in shoving 50 people into every pool than ensuring the pools are clean and hygienic for their customers and that people who visit actually have a good experience. Instead of simply limiting the amount of people who can attend (like booking a hotel room or a plane ticket), the owners are more interested in extracting as much wealth as they can out of their hapless customers to the complete detriment of the overall customer experience, and this exact issue can be seen in so many other aspects of our lives. The rampant greed and desire for money in society has become so pervasive that your experience at these hot springs has also been affected.

And I don't know if it's just because I'm just getting older or not but the thought of being a hot pool of water with dozens of other people who I do not know the hygiene habits of and who likely did not scrub every inch of their body in the on-site showers just makes me feel grossed out these days and is something I have no desire to experience anymore. Imagine people who go to the toilet to defecate who don't wipe or clean their bottoms properly for example. If they don't wipe properly or thoroughly (and let's face it, not everyone does) that poop-crust will be softened by the hot water and float out from inside their bathers! There are showers that people are supposed to use before they get into the hot springs but again, not everyone cleans themselves properly. Do you really want other people's softened poop-crust on your skin? I definitely don't.

On top of that, it's obvious to me that not everyone is a considerate person. So just imagine the people who have just had their period (or ARE having it) or a skin infection or haven't exfoliated their bodies properly or haven't cleaned the fungus out from between their toes. Imagine the kids who haven't wiped properly or cleaned themselves properly because we all know kids aren't the cleanest people on the planet. All that detritus and gunk and dare I say, excrement from people who have moved here from ALL OVER THE WORLD ends up floating around in the hot pools in miniature particles that will end up on your skin and if you are silly enough to dunk your head under water you're going to get that stuff up your nose and possibly in between your eyelids which will then go into your eyes when you open them. JUST. NASTY.

If you don't feel this review is warranted, just go and read the recent Google reviews for the place (and don't pay attention to the ones written by recent arrivals or tourists because they'll obviously think it's a good place). There's one that was written mid-December from someone named "El" (not me in case anyone is thinking that since my username starts with an L) where they say they didn't get a refund for the voucher because they have cancer. The appalling thing is how MPHS replied to their review, they do not make an exception because they just do not care anymore. They know that millions of people mindlessly visit the place and will continue to do so despite the place getting much worse and simply do not care anymore about the quality of the service they provide. It's just shocking and sad what has happened to this place. Oh and another review said that someone contracted a UTI from the place, after a bit of Googling it does seem that UTIs can be spread through hot springs. And we all know how people are so honest these days and definitely will not visit a hot spring if they have a UTI (that was sarcasm by the way).

Another review left maybe late Nov or early Dec is from someone who provides a screenshot of Australia Consumer Law stating gift cards sold must have a minimum 3 year expiry but they were sold one with a one-year expiry and whaddayaknow, someone who works at MPHS provides an email address with their name to be contacted about the matter - which makes it VERY clear they were spooked because they were advised they broke the law and didn't want it to get out of hand and ONLY provided a contact email because of that. Sad and pathetic. A complete lack of integrity pervades this country now and it is obvious that MPHS also lacks any integrity whatsoever.

DO NOT BUY THEIR GIFT CERTIFICATE! – Got a couple of "revitalise Bath House bathing for two" gift certificates a while ago, we decide to make a booking before them becoming infamous valueless-papers as many people complaint. To our surprise, we are told to pay a $10 extra for each person, for the same "revitalise Bath House bathing" that the certificates were paid for. Update:… Read more

After posting the review on another platform, they responded and suggested us to call their booking line, to make the booking without the extra charges.

Very Poor Customer Service – My daughter purchased a gift voucher just prior to Covid. Unfortunately we have been unable to use the voucher in time before expiry. It has only just expired and I have been in contact via email to have the voucher reactivated. I called after they reopened from the lockdowns to check how long the voucher would be valid for and was told that the… Read more

expiry would be extended and there would be no problems to use the voucher. I understand that companies have their policies but this is simply a case of Peninsula Hot Springs having taken my daughters money and now not providing what has been paid for. The responses from the customer service team on email is extremely rude and non customer focused. The voucher I have is simply for entry to Bathing. It is not costing any service fees from therapists or involving the supply of any goods. It is disgraceful customer service.
