NOT a 5* - someone’s had a backhander – As an Accor Gold Member we should get a free room upgrade & late checkout till 12 or late depending on availability. Checked in & the room was average at best. Had friends staying too who were not members & their room was exactly the same. So there is no benefit being a member. I asked for a later checkout and Jason said we’re ‘almost’ fully… Read more

booked. But couldn’t do past 11:30. Odd when check in is 2pm, plenty of time when a room turnaround is ~15mins.

The hotel itself: Dated! From the lift (not knowing how long once pressed), to the hallway old stained & ‘vintage’ carpet odour, I knew the rooms weren’t going to be great.

The room was an odd shape, massive pillar in the middle which blocks the TV viewing which its placement is so random.

The shower is a dual handle, so harder to get temperature right, not like the modern singular ones (another sign of it being dated). With less than average pressure.

Decor was from the 90’s. And hasn’t been updated since.

We put the privacy hanger on the door but housekeeping ignored it and did the room, but didn’t put a new toilet rolls in, so only half did it anyway.

This hotel shares rooms with residents & the sound from outside isn’t ideal. If you’re a light sleeper, go elsewhere with new double glazed windows.

Our friends had breakfast & said it was a waste of money.

This is a 3 star at best. No wonder it’s one of the cheapest 5 stars in Melbourne. There is no way on gods earth it’s a 5 star. Someone’s had a backhander.

Accor have another hotel in Adelaide we stayed in, 4 star, which was hands down better. Cleaner & more modern.

I won’t stay in a Peppers again.

Extremely Disappointing Experience at Peppers Docklands Melbourne – I am writing to express my profound disappointment and frustration with my recent stay at Peppers Docklands Melbourne, which was meant to be a special celebration for my 30th anniversary but turned into a nightmare. Upon booking what I believed to be a 5-star hotel, I expected nothing short of luxury and impeccable service. However, my… Read more

expectations were shattered from the moment I arrived. After a delightful journey from Sydney in a motorhome, my wife and I were eagerly anticipating a relaxing and enjoyable time in Melbourne. Instead, we were met with the disheartening reality of our accommodation's shortcomings.

First and foremost, the hotel's location adjacent to the light rail proved to be a major inconvenience, as it subjected our room on the third level to incessant street noise throughout our stay. This disruptive environment was compounded by the utter lack of consideration for guests' comfort.

The pinnacle of our dismay came when a fire alarm rudely interrupted our sleep at 11:00 pm. Forced to evacuate our room and endure nearly 20 minutes of chilling cold outside, we were already exasperated. However, our ordeal was far from over, as the alarm sounded once again at 1:00 am, depriving us of any hope of a restful night.

In the aftermath of this harrowing experience, my attempt to seek redress from the management was met with further frustration. The so-called manager, an Asian individual who proved to be more of a joke than a competent leader, callously dismissed my concerns and refused to take responsibility for the false alarms. Instead of offering a sincere apology and attempting to assuage my justified anger, he chose to argue, exacerbating an already tense situation.

Moreover, it is evident that the manager failed to escalate my request to higher authorities, as I did not receive any response from them regarding my refund or even a simple acknowledgment of the distressing events we endured.

Adding insult to injury, I was compelled to incur additional expenses by arranging an Uber to transport us to another hotel, where we were left waiting until 3 pm for check-in. As a result, both days of our anticipated holiday in Melbourne were effectively wasted.

Despite my insistence on a full refund for both nights, I was begrudgingly compensated only for the second night which I refused to stay . The lack of accountability and professionalism displayed by the hotel manager, is utterly appalling and reflects poorly on the establishment's purported 5-star status.

Furthermore, the lobby's lackluster appearance resembling a nondescript coffee shop further undermines any claims of grandeur or luxury. Peppers Docklands Melbourne falls woefully short of the standards one would expect from a 5-star hotel, both in terms of facilities and customer service.

In conclusion, my experience at Peppers Docklands Melbourne was nothing short of a disappointment and a disgrace. I implore prospective guests to think twice before entrusting their special occasions or precious moments to this establishment. It is a far cry from the luxurious retreat it purports to be, and the lack of accountability and professionalism exhibited by its staff only serve to further tarnish its already tarnished reputation.
