Fantastic, reduces bites by 99% – Bought for husband as mosquitoes love him. Works brilliantly. Had it for 5 years and can’t buy anymore, but it has been great. Luckily bought two and he alternated them. Highly recommend Show details
Load of junk – Hopeless, a scam, daylight robbery, this made no difference, in fact spiders were making a web on it and cockroaches ran rampant. There are 3 pretty LED lights and a so called night light and looked like it did something. The chances are you will run up your electricity bill. Show details
Completely non effective – With a fair degree of doubt regarding the "claims" made on this product before purchase and now with some 8 months use I can safely say that this product has absolutely zero effect on mosquitoes, flies, spiders, cockroaches, mice etc. I can attest to this as the activity level of all of the above have not reduced at all. To confirm its… Read more
effectiveness (or lack of) in conjunction with this "contraption" that looks flash with its coloured lights (which may in fact encourage the insects) I returned to my old habits which include the old mosquito coils (for mossies) the ceiling fan and the old fly swatter (for flies) and rat bait (for mice) all of which seemed to work quite well. Despite its simple installation this little $39 box of ??? with its bright lights has now been turned off and removed so the flies don't have a landing spot! Basically this device has zero effect on any insects or rodents. Be aware of the KOGAN reviews on line most of which tend positive and many appear related to other products.
Brilliant – Bought mine in 2015 just prior to a trip to South Africa. I am one of those people who could be in a room full of people & I will get bitten, mosquitos love me. I wore it around my neck day & night and at bedtime put it next to my bed. Also wore it in Bali & Vietnam. I can honestly say that it worked for me, mosquitos were not a problem, highly recommend this product. Show details
Useless – Bought it for summer for my baby. But it wasn't effective at all. We were still bitten alot. And at times even agitated the insects i feel. Because occasionally there will be a fly or two keep zooming around us. I wonder if they will do a refund.
Does this even work? – Loving in urban apartment Sydney life we don’t have a massive insect problem except through humid summer months we get a few creepy crawlies. In order to prevent this before summer started we got a Pestill plug in. The product itself is bulky but I didn’t mind as long as it worked. Quick delivery though having it plugged in consistently at the… Read more
beginning of summer I thought perhaps would be too good to be true to think it would repel the insects from coming in at all, however it does not repel them at all. There’s one doorway for the cockroaches and spiders to come. From and it does not keep them away at all. Absolute rubbish
Don’t waste your money – Just opened mine, out the back and cracked a coldie, after rain mozzies into me. They love me, had one on my leg, put the gadget nearly on top of it and it just kept sucking my blood. Others swarming nearby, got the aeroguard out and lathered up. Don’t believe the good ratings on Kogan, it’s a sham.
Does not work, cheap quality – Bought two as they were on sale from Kogan. Emits the sound of a dragonfly (Supposedly a natural predator mosquitoes), but unfortunately they just make this annoying buzz & do not repel mosquitoes. i was doing some gardening in the late afternoon & had the repeller on, hung around my neck. My elbows got bitten, and had 2 mozzies land on my… Read more
shin. I brought the repeller to within 10cm of them and they didnt budge. I suppose my hands are the most effective, cheap (albeit non-ideal) method of repelling mozzies.
Pros
- came with an extra CR2032 button cell
Cons
- does nothing to mosquitoes
- cheap-looking plastic
- battery lid stays on, but does not sit flush (due to the internal spring contact)
- to replace the battery the pocket-clip must be removed (phillips head screw)
- false advertising by Kogan (besides marketing it as a functional product, they also mentioned "silent operation" as a product highlight).
- annoying buzz which is clearly not ultrasonic
