Jumanji Mosquito's don't stand a chance (The good Jumanji with Robin Williams) – I live on an 800sqm block with at least a suburbs supply of mosquito's thanks to my scumbag neighbour and their pool that's turned swamp. I went hard and bought the big dog of Pestrol Mosquito traps, The Dominator. This thing is a genuine monster. It's a little noisy, but not louder than the dog sized mozzies we used to get who would steal your car if you left it unlocked. It will attract any mosquito's within about a 100m radius and will suck them up faster than Tom Craig's nose over a bag of Parisian Coke.

Purchased in for $254.

Hey Dan, Thanks for taking the time to leave us such a positive review.

We're glad to hear that the Dominator has been serving you well and helping tackle your mozzie issue.

We also had a great laugh and your imaginative comparisons!

Kind regards, The Pestrol Team

Its not called the Dominator for nothing – Mozzies are the problem and we wanted something new to test out, that wasn't a zapper. We had roasted too many non-mozzies in the past and not one zapper we had owned ever seemed to get mozzies in any way that counted! Frustrating. So we invested in this unit which says "uses black light, heat and colour to effectively lure and eliminates mosquitoes."

We got the largest model which covers an acre. It's 4.6kg. It's very large and is reminiscent of a pot belly stove, but the basket that gets all the insects is quite easy to remove, you just have to pull the unit down to do it. We can confirm that it DOES make a very big dent in the mosquitoes as we felt plagued before this went up, but now we hardly notice them. Our issue with this thing is that it kills so much more wildlife than it advertises that we aren't sure we should keep this going. Ours is basically full of moths (dead and alive) every day (which it does tell you it attracts on the web-site). Not only those, but beetles of all kinds get in there too and so many other things you've never seen or heard about. The only saving grace is that there's a lot of things that pass through the fan system and aren't killed on the way. So every day you need to open it up and let all the living things fly out as well as tap out all the others crawling around in it. There also tends to be quite a few moths and flying things trapped between the fan and the clever doors that open to let things in but not out. So "assist" all those out as well.

I suspect there's a big difference between using this thing in suburbia vs using it in the bush as we do. We would have a lot more diversity (or we used to anyway). Time will tell.

Purchased in at Amazon for $269.

Review for mosquito eater – Wow! Mosquito eradication products that work. After trying bug zappers with the lures, I knew there had to be something better. There's cheap things on eBay that kill the odd creature, then better quality indoor products by Xiaomi sub brands that I would assume work well, but then there's these outdoor solutions by pestrol that would arguably be the best course of action to tackle it at the source. Very reasonably priced products given the quality, R&D and of course performance. Looking forward to purple mozzie free summer nights.

Postrol are the worst – Pestrol as a company just seem to have no customer service. On top of that they just make bad products. This seems to every insect except mosquitos. Save yourself and buy other products.

Fan and motor broke in warranty period. Company unreasonable – I contacted Pestrol in November as the fan was not working and the product was under warranty. They selected to provide parts. Close to 3 months still waiting for parts. Unreasonable and poor customer service to repair a faulty product
