Frustrating lack of communication – This is a rating and remark about the PFERD WA Distributor, not the tools No follow-up communication after about 8 working days, shouldn't need to keep chasing them. I sent a polite enquiry regarding their online shop, as well as asking the country of manufacture of their grinding wheels and wire wheels (for bench mounted grinders). I said that as they were a critical item, I was fussy about where they were made. I asked twice where the wire wheels were made in the first email.

The WA agent got back to me promptly saying only that the grinding wheels were made in Turkey but neglected to say where their wire wheels were made. He also said that only companies and other distributors can buy from the PFERD online shop and asked me where I was located so he could direct me to the closest PFERD stockist in the Perth area.

I emailed back which included thanking him twice, and told him which areas were best for me and then asked again where their wire wheels were made, (total of three times), also citing my experience with a certain country of manufacture with critical items like high speed wheels.

To this date, no response, possibly took issue with what I wrote, but these guys are professionals, I shouldn't need to keep asking the same simple questions on this important matter and no offence should be taken at a potential customer's personal account of previous experiences. In fact, these guys should be grateful that someone has shared their own experience, giving them a broader knowledge base.

Wire wheels and grinding wheels mount to the same machine but have a completely different manufacturing process. So it's entirely possible that they could be made in separate countries, especially since this company has manufacturing in over 5 countries, from what I've read online.

This is increasingly common now, companies ignoring emails, so have given up chasing them.

No loss to me, I have since found a place that sells wire wheels made in Australia.
