Philips 3000 Series Pedestal Fan CX3550/01

major design flaw – great fan but thoroughly disappointing design on the cord being located up top rather than the base as it greatly dimishes that 1.8m length to more like 1m, completely inadequate.

happy – This is a review for CX2550 but CX3550 has exact specs and additional wifi/smartphone connectivity. Firstly it fits in Ikea home so well and it looks delightful in my lounge room. (CX3550 is black though) Noise-wise, the lowest level is milder and much quieter than most ordinary AC pedestal fan. It also can be configured to a half height pedestal and it's not too heavy to move around. So it works well as a personal fan comfortably, next to desk, bed or couch. This is very impressive.

Max it out, it turns as noisy as all other fans but different sound profile. Most ordinary fans at maximum level sound like aircraft propeller but this one sounds like an empty washing machine in spin cycle(not that loud though). However I was surprised that despite it looks thin and less aggressive, it's able to deliver air to 10 meters away. So it woks well in a medium lounge room where noise is more forgivable.

No remote control and buttons on top easier to reach. Bonus for me. I don't need to manage another remote controls(no more where is it? batteries?)

Its airflow is more focused like tornado fan so if you're looking for something can deliver massive wide 'wind front' at near, look for larger industrial fan.
