Bought this tower fan as I can’t afford the electricity bills for the air con! It’s wonderful….so quiet that I have to look to see if it’s still on and a lovely gentle air flow. There’s a remote control and a place to put drops of essential oil to give a nice fragrance too. A real winner.

I was hesitant at buying this type of fan, but I am more than pleased with it, The Philips Tower fan works a treat in Melbourne's hot weather Show details

Works quietly and efficiently. Highly recommend for sale price of $139 at Hervey Norman. Sure beats the quoted $750 for installing a ceiling fan in my apartment lounge. Show details

I absolutely love this fan- and use is every day. I haven’t used the aroma tray yet so don’t have any feedback on that- but as for cooling down an area it’s been fantastic. I love that it moves too and not just stagnant in one area blowing wind Show details

Disappointed – Purchased after reading such positive reviews online, but I’m very disappointed :( No more effective than my cheap old pedestal fan, and it’s noisy too. Would not recommend this product. Show details

As a fan it's great. It has a flaw in the Aroma Tray feature (and the suppliers don't seem to think it's a problem) – Firstly, good luck trying to get in touch with Philips about this particular product. In Australia, I was unable to speak or write to anyone about the issue. I had to go back to the supplier, Harvey Norman Warrawong (NSW) The Issue: I purchased this less than a month ago and complained to the store who offered to look into it. They made me feel… Read more

like I was the only person on the planet who had the problem (typical), stating "we've sold a lot of these and nobody else has returned them".

The issue is with the Aroma Box. The manual says to put two drops of essential oil into the tray (from the manual):

1. Pull out the aroma box from the appliance. 2. Drop in 2-3 drops of essential oils to the supplied aroma pad. 3. Put the aroma box back into the appliance.

All fine until you go to do it the next time - the plastic Aroma tray has interacted with the oil and almost fused it completely shut. So it's now unusable. It's melted!

Harvey Norman Warrawong and Alexandria were contacted about it. They didn't seem to think it was a problem because nobody else had returned the product. I tried to contact Philips and that was a failed attempt of almost an hour and a half wasted trying to find the product on their Australian site.
