Fatal Flaw – I bought the Philips GC4552 because I'd been happy with my previous Philips purchase, a GC4412. have done this clearly as a cost saving measure - they've saved/made a dollar, but I've wasted money on what is a very good, but (for me) essentially unusable iron. Lesson learned - I will check the cord length in future but Philips will no longer be on my shopping list, for this or any other product.
