Philips Lumea Advanced IPL Questions & Answers
VerifiedFor the first 7 months, the device worked perfectly and I was very pleased with the results. However, recently I have experienced the following issues: • The body attachment overheats after only a few minutes of use, making it impossible to place on my skin. • The device makes an unusual and annoying noise during use. • I no longer see the same good results that I had in the beginning.
This problem is very concerning for both safety and effectiveness.
Could you please advise me: 1. Is this covered under warranty, given that it worked well initially but has now developed a fault? 2. Can the body attachment or the entire device be repaired or replaced? 3. If repair is not possible, can I purchase a compatible replacement attachment?

Hi, can this device be used to achieve a "Brazillian"?
Hello there, Thank you for your question regarding the Philips Lumea Advanced. The Philips Lumea Advanced can be used on the arms, legs, belly, bikini area, and armpits, as well as face areas like the chin, sideburns, and upper lip. When it comes to IPL hair removal, bikini areas and intimate areas should not be considered the same. Put simply, the latter encompasses everything around and underneath the bikini bottoms. The bikini area, on the other hand, basically includes the area that bikini bottoms do not cover. That is the groin on the left and right, as well as the lower area of the abdomen. However, this depends on the size of the actual garment, and of course, your personal style also plays an important role.
If you need further assistance, please feel free to contact us through 0800 658 224 (NZ) from Monday to Friday: 09:00 am to 09:00 pm and 1300 363 391 (AU) from Monday to Friday: 07:00 am to 07:00 pm EST.

I am facing a problem with my lumea. Whenever I attach the body attachment, the ready light wouldnt go , and no flash is seen. But I can see the tiny sensor red light flicking on my skin. I have tried it on different areas but doesn't seem to work, even cleaned the attachment. The other two face and bikini work just fine. What do I do?

Hi, my mum and I have been using this machine for years and it has worked with no problem, it’s mains powered. When we tried to use it a couple of days ago, the numbers have started flashing quickly, and it won’t zap. I have read some replies on here and we have tried turning it off and leaving it for awhile or leaving it on with the fan running and nothing is working. Any help would be appreciated as don’t really want to spend all that money on a new one!

My machine doesn’t make a sound anymore and I’m sure there used to be like a fan sound whilst on. It still works and flashes on the skin like normal but I am now paranoid possibly the fan to cool it down isn’t working? Thanks
Hi Chelsea, Thank you for taking the time to write this elaborate review. We are sorry to hear about the inconvenience this has caused you. To troubleshoot the issue of your Philips Lumea Advanced IPL not making any sound, please check if the attachment is properly connected. Ensure that it is securely attached to the device. If necessary, clean the connectors on the attachment to ensure a good connection. Another possible reason for the lack of sound could be that the cooling airflow of the fan is blocked. Check if your hands or a towel are obstructing the airflow. If so, remove any obstructions to allow the cooling airflow to circulate freely.
We'd like to refer you to our colleagues for more information. You can reach them directly on 1300 363 391 (Australia), or 0800 658 224 (New Zealand) from Monday to Saturdays: 7: 00 am - 7:00 pm EST. They're always happy to help!

Hi, my Lumea prestige is not registering contact to the skin when using the leg attachment.. other ones work fine. It is also flashing all 5 intensity lights at times and I have to turn off and back on any help would be greatly appreciated
Hi there, Thanks for your question. We are sorry to hear about your experience with the Philips Lumea. Please note that the device may not work anymore and show an error when there is dirt on the attachment connector. We recommend that you clean the contact leads. Also note that if all five intensity lights blink, it means the device needs to be reset. To reset the device, take the plug out of the socket and wait for 30 minutes to let the device cool down. The device should function normally again.
If you need any further assistance, please feel free to contact us at 0800 658 224 (NZ) from Monday-Friday, 09:00 am–09:00 pm, or 1300 363 391 (AU) from Monday–Friday, 07:00 am–07:00 pm EST.

Hello! My Philips Lumea 1994/00 doesn’t detect skin anymore- it used to work without any problems and now it doesn’t flash that it’s ready. I have tried it in different sections of the body- no change. Skin is clean, hair has been removed so it’s not related to skin prep. Can you please advise? Thank you
Hi Ekaterina, Thanks for your question. We are sorry to hear about your experience with Philips Lumea. Please note that if the 'ready to flash' light does not light up white, it is because the device is not completely in contact with your skin. We recommend that you place the device at a 90-degree angle on the skin so that the integrated safety system is in contact with your skin. We hope this will improve your experience.
If you need any further assistance, please feel free to contact us at 0800 658 224 (NZ) from Monday-Friday, 09:00 am–09:00 pm, or 1300 363 391 (AU) from Monday–Friday, 07:00 am–07:00 pm EST.
