throw anytning on. It had been a big chsnger fir me. I have some areas with no hair growth and other with some thin hair which uou can barely see. It worked on other areas than ny kegs to abd so getting ready fir beach hol is great! Whoever invented this is amazing and it really has made a difference in my life. So, thanks!

Only used twice - not charging – Didn't get to see if my lumea was effective, as I got pregnant after using it only twice. I'm just finished breast feeding and said I'd give it a go to find out the battery is not charging! I'm disgusted after reading all the reviews to learn that because I'm just out of warranty it's now for the bin. I mean I can't even get a replacement battery… Read more

Disappointed! – I'm so disappointed with my Lumea. I used to love every bit of it until I put in to charge today and it just wouldn't work. I can't believe I payed 500€ for something that I would have to replace after the warranty period was over. So sad and disappointed.

Lumea Precision doesn't charge – Hi, I've been using the product for a year now. I happened to use it last month. When i put it to charge today, it just won't charge. Is that it then? Is the product supposed to work only for a year? Is that what i paid £500 for? I'm honestly quite disappointed in the quality of the product. I always thought very highly of Philips! -Nancy

Results take time – The first few times you use this you won't notice any major differences. I use it on my arms, legs and armpits, and it takes me about 30 minutes for all. Very rarely do I feel pain (and only in the armpit area, like being flicked with a rubber band), and no bad skin reactions from it. To get extra value, I also use it on my boyfriend's back. 6 months of use, and we are both satisfied with the results. I now shave my legs only once a week - when before I had to shave every second day. What I shave nowadays is very little anyway. We are both brunettes with white skin, so we are both the ideal types for this product. Do not buy if your body hair is anything but brown or black. Very dark skinned people won't get results from this either. It is expensive to buy, but much cheaper than going to laser clinic, and it has a warranty for two years, so that's plenty of time to try for results. It won't happen overnight, but persist, it will happen.

IT DOES NOT WORK - TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY – I will be writing a review that is very similar to the one posted by 'Essentially Organised'. She wrote, "I've now used the Lumea every fortnight for 10 treatments on my legs, bikini and underarms. a little (that might just be wishful thinking) but I am nowhere near being hair free. It is time consuming on your legs and a bit awkward for the underarms, although I would have gladly accepted that if I was getting better results. On the plus side, it is pain free and doesn't irritate my skin. Since it was an expensive purchase, for now I will continue to stick with it, but given the expense, the results so far have been very disappointing." In response to this the Philips Rep said you must shave your skin before every treatment. Guess what I have been doing that also, and I also have the 'ideal' skin type for the machine to work, and even after 15 treatments, following the procedure exactly to the letter, I have seen virtually no loss of hair. I am Male and would class myself as average on the hairy scale. I had high hopes for this product after reading the other reviews, and both my wife and I have been using it for almost a year and we have seen no discernible loss of hair. If it worked on one of us, fair enough, but it hasn't done a single thing on to either of us. Either our machine is faulty (IE doesn't produce a high enough pulse) which could be the case, or the product simply does not work at all. For $700 that is an expensive way to find out.

Great results – My husband and I have been using this occasionally for a year now and the results are really noticeable. I only need to shave my legs every few months and his regrowth is much finer and softer. I wish it could be used while plugged in and maybe it should come with sunnies- I'm not sure if the bright flash is safe? I'm not sure which model I have, we bought the newest model at the time.  Show reply
