Most annoying iron I’ve owned – This iron randomly stops works to clean itself which is annoying and time consuming. Do not buy this iron and I’ll never buy another Phillips iron. Show details

Does not heat up - Philips says it is not a fault – This is the second unit with the same problem. When I turn it on, it does not heat up and the lights flash Orange - Blue - Off and then repeats. The blue light on the handle, indicating that it is heating up, does not come on. If I turn the unit off at the powerpoint and on again, it will normally work for that instance. The first unit, on… Read more

Philips directive, I took for repair twice. That did not resolve the problem, so I returned it for a replacement. The second unit has the same problem after 6 months.

Now Philips tell me it is not a fault that the iron does not heat up. They say it is a feature that it will not heat up because the iron is too cold, below 20c. So Philips say I should warm up the iron before turning it on. Philips says that this is an undocumented feature - ie not in the user manual and no warning on the box. When it was working, it was quite good. A lack of rubber feet on the bottom of the main unit was very annoying as it would slide. I am buying another brand now.

This Philips product is very poor quality with very poor customer service from Philips.

Very disappointed – I had a fantastic steam station for about 20yrs. It finally packed up and after reading reviews and looking at various products, settled on the Perfect Care Compact Plus. I can't recall when I've been so disappointed with an appliance. The heat and steam generated are very minimal and my ironing takes twice as long because I need to go over and… Read more

over the wrinkles to have a hope of removal, which is the main point of ironing! I'm finding blend fabrics, like poly/cotton, especially difficult to get a good result. Wish I could get a refund and start again. I also don't like the idea of not being able to prop the iron up in between jobs...encourages a bad habit I think.

Really powerful steam iron – Our old ‘larger’ Philips steam iron packed up after more than 10 years and we replaced with a smaller compact model. Very pleasantly surprised how good this unit is, way more steam power than the larger previous steam station we owned. Even though this was the cheapest option available, I do not believe anyone with normal ironing needs, would need to buy anything larger and more expensive than this iron. Show details ·  1

Good Enough to do the job – This is our 3rd Philips steam station. It is hard to go back to standard iron after using one of these. However, these are not cheap product and from our experience they only have an average life of 4 years. So we decided not to pay more for higher model and got this model GC7920. It has auto-shut off and reasonable price at $279. Plus they were… Read more ·  1

having $50 cash back promo which was a bonus.

The first product was faulty. On second day use, the Decal light was flashing when switched on. We had to switch off and on from power point to reset. It happened every time. We contacted the Customer Service and was advised to go back to the Retail shop for a replacement. Same issue with the replacement, but just when we were just about to give up and return the product, it was working fine.

The performance is as good as our previous ones. The small size is good. The build quality however, is not as good and 'solid' as our previous ones, and the water tank is not built-in and needs to be removed to top up.

Overall it's a good product. Hopefully this one will outlast the old ones.

It’s ok, but – My first steam station was Phillips and I was very happy with it until it’s just stopped producing steam out of blue. My husband bought me new Tefal which I didn’t like much but it did good job until water tank started leaking and forced me to buy a another one.So, I run before my husband find out,to get my Phillips brand back into business. bought this one thinking it will be as good as my first which I can’t find it anymore. With this one I must say I am not very happy. Considering this is my third iron steam station, and I am able to compare it. I must say it’s light in hand and good looking, I like removable tank, find it very convenient to fill up ( no messy drops around it), Heating time is very short and ones it heats up, it lets you know with the sound that is ready to be used. But I am not happy with the steam. When you press the button to start ironing it takes more time ( than my previous irons) to build the pressure to release the steam on clothing. By the time you lift up the iron to have another go, THEN it’s starting releasing a proper steam from iron plate. It has a good steam pressure but when it’s in the air not while it’s on the clothing. I find myself disappointed because of my higher expectations. None of my previous iron stations didn’t do that. For my opinion steam is the most important part. It’s kind annoying because that extend your time to do the ironing. I would like to know does anyone have the same problem. I am still using it, but thinking of buying a new one to replace this. I have bought Tefal iron steam station for my daughter, and can’t wait just to see if that does the same thing, as this one.

Lightweight and efficient at an affordable price – I had to replace my old Steam Generator and that brand and model had been discontinued, sadly. I wanted a replacement which had the intuitive soleplate which isn't operated manually. I also wanted one with a locking mechanism. This steam station has both. It irons delicates and linen both very effectively and quickly. It emits copious amounts of… Read more ·  1

steam. It also vertical steams well. ( I tried a silk dress). This is a much lighter and smaller unit which is convenient and stores easily. I don't like the removable water tank. It is an extra step in the process. And emptying it fully is just not achievable. I also don't like the cord minder onboard. The clips don't hold the cord in place. There is also no warning light that the water is running low. I haven't tried the calc cleaner yet but it will be more cumbersome than the automatic system on my old generator. All in all, an efficient, compact iron and at an affordable price.
