times this year and after just yet again leaving and thinking to myself what a great store it is I decided I should write a review online.

This is what I know for certain and like so much about this business; there is no commision so the sales staff are not motivated to tell you fluff just to line their pockets. They do not work from sales scripts or defined leading questions, they just have real conversations with customers. They are surprisingly cheap and often seem to have the best pricing in Brisbane for B&M stores. The only thing I think they could do better is advertise and market themselves better. I am sure there are good and bad experiences with PC's but I must say that I have as yet only had good experiences with good, friendly, helpful people. Terrible – I would not shop at Photo Continental again because both their sales and service are unreliable and ill-informed. With after sales service I would recommend that customers deal directly with the service centre usually listed in the instruction manual that comes with the product. Bad service? Seriously? correct information without the need to lie their way into a sale. Definitely worth the extra km from garden city if catch my drift. helpful, never pushy. Bit far from city.

sales person help an older lady with a bulb for her projector and the whole thing done with such care and attention. She even took the old one and put the new one in and tested it for her. This was whilst the guy I was with was off seeing if her could match and internet price I had found. AND HE DID!!!!

As far as I have found they have the biggest range and display of camera gear anywhere in Brisbane. Too far from the city.

Terrible – Over the years, the service has been ABYSMAL. I have seen two sales staff (men, time and time again) talking behind the middle counter with their staff badges, to each other and seemingly doing absolutely NOTHING when people have been waiting to be SERVED for over 1/2 hr. took no notice! On the whole, are also very COOL as though just showing you the camera is enough. It's almost as though they have been trained to say the minimal. I have had better service from Woolworth Deli Stores on a very busy Saturday morning. There is ZERO interest from their part to try to help you decide if a piece of equipment is suited to what YOU want. I would sack the lot of them but sadly, they are probably all related to the owner! Reasonable display of stock. Often no prices and does not have Samsung cameras. Prices are often only available if it can be found on a monitor somewhere, unless it's a very common item. It is NOT where you want to go and buy your gear if you want to talk about things before making up your mind. If you wave 3000 dollars cash in their faces (I have just seen it done!) they tend to pick up their game.

Excellent – If your into photography then walking into Photo Continental is a bit like a kid walking into a candy store. The range of gear is huge! Good – If you want a small shop run by one or two guys, who will call you on a first name basis as you walk in. But dont have any stock, then this is not the place. found the staff very friendly. They dont walk up to you and hassle you as you walk in , they let you look around which i like. I guess some people like being hunted down by sales staff. If thats the case then you may feel a little lost in such a large shop. Large range of camera gear and studio lighting equipment. Good range of papers and camera cleaning gear. had a good shopping experience. My prior phone enquiries had also been very cordial and politely satisfied. PC also had the best range of binocs available for 'hands on' testing in Brisbane and for the most part, quite competitively priced. So I'll go back. Friendly, attentive staff. Good range of quality optical gear. Clean, uncluttered store layout. Plenty of free parking out back.

Bad – They should HONOUR their quotes. It took me two months the save up for a canon 1.4 50mm lens they originally quoted at a reasonable price. I went in to buy it and they bumped the quote up by $60 ! I don't think I'll go back, there are plenty of decent online stores. good range of dslr crappy service, long waiting times, they do not honour their quotes!
