Piksters Interdental Brushes Questions & Answers
Same here - swallowed the wire and bristle head. Lost all confidence in Piksters now. Still alive but worried after 4 days…drs say watch and wait. Stronger wire needed. Too dangerous to recommend and my dentist needs to know!
I've recently started using piksters which I found easier to use than floss. Last week though I developed a painful and swollen gum near one of my teeth. The swelling is warm to the touch and visible from the outside of my face . Has anyone experienced anything like this before as a result of using piksters? It may only be coincidental and getting it checked out by my dentist tomorrow. Thanks!
The pikster I used broke up in between two teeth. Gum swells up and is extremely sore. Being to the dentist 5 times over it. Nothing is caught inside and no infection. I feel as though I have permanently damaged my gum as a result of using them. I see the specialist this week for further investigation. This problem has now being on going for over a year now. I wished I never used them.
It is possible that the end of the wire has pierced your gum. It's important not to force it in, and be sure it is aligned correctly so as not to pierce the gum. Piksters quality has declined over the years, they break off far sooner now. I have contacted the company and they did not answer, so they obviously know about the issue and don't care.
i think the dental association needs to be contacted which i will do
Yes, I too have used for a few years with the occasional break, but have now just swallowed the metal tip. If it doesn't reappear in the loo I will have to go to the doctor.
how did you go im afraid i may of done the same not sure i did managed to take something out.
No problem. Apart from worrying about it, but absolutely no sign of it ever again, so I assume it has passed on.
