It is an excellent toothpaste for sensitive teeth, it protects enamel and leaves a wonderful feeling of freshness in your mouth. I just love it and have been ordering more ever since. First ordered in September 2024 and then again in June 2025. Show details

I purchased a Braun toothbrush when my other broke down, it is good BUT - there is no indication when it is plugged in if it is charging or not, or if it has completed charging !

The main thing I noticed is that it gives an instant brighter appearance after brushing. It helps neutralize yellow tones, so teeth look a bit cleaner and fresher right away, especially before going out or taking photos.

Just started using my new Philips Sonicare AirFloss Pro Ultra in grey, and I’m genuinely impressed. I’ve never been the best at traditional flossing,… Read more

so this has been a game-changer. It’s super easy to use just fill the reservoir with water or mouthwash, aim between the teeth, and press. Takes less than a minute and leaves my mouth feeling fresh and clean. The colour looks sleek and modern on the counter, and the design feels solid and comfortable in hand. After a week of using it daily, my gums already feel healthier and less sensitive.

but all the stains came off except in-between the really tight teeth that are pushed together - what is left is barely noticeable at all. Have also paired it with the whitening powder and that works very well also. I have very sensitive teeth so I did it a little bit at a time and they looked brand new in a couple of days

I created a new Category for the Waterpik Ultra And Cordless Plus Waterflosser Pack. WP490A So unsure why it ended up here.… Read more

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Its called the Waterpik Ultra And Cordless Plus Waterflosser Pack. WP490A NOTE. This is the second unit I got as I had to return original unit due to the WP490 A not charging and got replaced. Now the second unit has the same fault.< _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ <The main plug in unit is ok. Works well. Has great storage for tips. And good selection of tips to suit user. But opening the top lid to get tips out the base of the top cover is to small and that tries to flick up with top cover. Bottom flange could of been larger so you could it easier with your fingers..> _______________________________________________________________________________________ >UPDATE: 1: The mains powered unit has now developed a problem with the rubber valve on the Tank. When you proceed to fill it up water now leaks out of this valve. Did try reverse flush by placing under a tap and that failed to fix it. > UPDATE 2. Main Unit. The reservoir has developed a leak through the rubber valve after about 2 months use. See Photo below ________________________________________________________________________________________-

Now on to the supplied portable unit WP490 A

Its just the Portable WP 490A unit which does not charge after 3 days. Green light keeps flashing on cord. Contacted Waterpik by phone and they suggested to discharge fully and recharge again. I knew this idea would not work but discharged fully and recharged and green light would still keep flashing after 3 days. Took it back and got a replacement unit and found out it did the same thing. I measured the voltage out of the Cord and its lower than the Fully Charged Lithium battery voltage so it has no chance of charging.

It would appear that Waterpik are shipping the main unit with the portable unit to clear their stock hoping no one will test the charging of the portable unit. Very disappointing with such poor quality control.

I then checked a few reviews out and others are experiencing the same thing. Come on Waterpik be honest about the WP 490A portable unit. <> The main plug in unit works really well. Normally it looks like a WP 100 series unit. Does a good job of cleaning but the tube connecting to the flosser head should be a bit longer for taller people. If I didnt have this defective portable unit it would scored far better. Taking stars off for lack of instructions. Poor Quality as second unit a dud as well.

How does one obtain confidence in Waterpik Brand.? Update 3 Sept. After Contacting Waterpik myself as the same video Posted here that got sent to Waterpik claimed they could not open the file. Referred Waterpik to the Charging of unit. Which they now verify they have seen. They then request a Video of unit operating after being charged for 3 days so that now posted here as they have a job opening files. The point I'm trying to emphasize is why is green light still flashing after 3 days of charging. If the light does not indicate the state of charge why have the light? [They Waterpik did admit to me that light should be solid green when fully charged.] So how can I tell the state of the battery if thats the case? Unit appears to operate without any known state of Battery charge. WILL Update if any future correspondence.

Night and Day difference from a manual toothbrush, or the Oral B competitor – I tried buying an Oral B electric toothbrush a while ago, and while it was okay, I ended up going back to manual. This blew my mind for $30 at my… Read more

local woolworths (1/2 price). I looked it up online after seeing it in store and noticed that it was actually a steal of a price, took a leap of faith and purchased it, and now can't see myself going back to manual brushing. Though this is an entry-level one, it's still amazing and I'll probably end up upgrading. As a young adult (still learning the ins and outs of taking care of myself) this has really piqued my interest and shown me how much more there is to household dental health, and made a vast improvement on the cleanliness of my teeth. The only things that are negative are: the noise (it's called SONICare for a reason) though it's not as loud and annoying as the Oral B one I had used, it's quite odd and high-pitched. Not being able to keep my bottom lip up because of the vibration (I find myself drooling everywhere like a toddler), and the expensive and hard to find replaceable heads. Otherwise a great upgrade and for an entry-level version it is to be expected, though it exceeds overall. Another thing I will say is that it's extremely light, and the heads themselves are very small so I find myself A; using a lot less toothpaste, and B; being able to brush very finely and reach every crevice and corner of my teeth. God that sounds creepy. But it's true, and a fantastic feeling.

downside is that it is slightly acidic at around pH 6 - tested using a basic strip test only. I rinse after with sodium bicarbonate solution to neutralise the pH level.

I contacted the company to ask for the specific pH, but they told me they couldn't provide it, which is deceitful to the point of insult. So, I'll use the remaining of what I have then move to an alkaline mouthwash.

Oral B oscillation electric toothbrush is scientifically proven to clean slightly better but my gum is too sensitive so it's uncomfortable to use. … Read more

The Philips electric toothbrush is the next best thing and is painless, which means I will actually use it rather than let it collect dust like my Oral B one. I find both Oral B and Philips electric toothbrushes give a very clean feel after brushing. I personally can't feel the difference between Oral B and Philips.

I love the extra minute on gum care mode and this ProtectiveClean 4500 model is the least expensive model with this mode. This is my third Philips electric toothbrush and my last one was ProtectiveClean 6100 with 3 modes and 3 intensity settings. Once I'm comfortable with gum care and on high intensity, I never changed it. So I feel the essential features for me are simply pressure sensor, QuadPacer timer and gum care mode. There is no need to go for the more expensive model. If you don't need the gum care mode, I would recommend the cheaper 3100 series or something because I just found out that 62000 brush movement/min is the same as 31000 brush strokes per minute. Notice, 2 brush movement = 1 brush stroke. Also, 62000 brush movement/min is the highest speed for Philips toothbrushes, even for their DiamondClean series. The rest of remove 7x plaque vs 10x plaque all comes down to the brush head used.

Another reason why I recommend the cheaper model is I found each electric toothbrush only lasts me 2-2.5 years before the motor became loud and broke, but at least Philips is good about replacing if you register the product to get the extra year warranty. BTW if the BrushSync's brush head replacement reminder bugs you, it can be turned off. Finally, the battery life is around 2 weeks so I don't even bother carrying the charging stand when I'm going for 1 week trips.

using, but the Pro 500 hast lasted a good 8 years. I love the charging LED. It was also my first toothbrush that had the 30sec vibration as well as 2 minute timer. Handy! Simple. Durable. Did its job well. Has travelled internationally and domestically with me. It started rusting at the top. And I think I made it worse. That's the only thing that's wrong with it. I don't know why I felt compelled to create an account and leave this review. It's not going to do anyone any good. But they made a damn fine toothbrush. If you keep your toothbrush clean and dry it will last. I may even be more attached to this toothbrush because a friend gave it to me (unopened) just when I was in need of a new toothbrush. I just really like when things last, and are made well.
