(isolation) taps so that we isolate the issue if it happened again. I was quoted (at around 3:00pm) for this work and was very surprised at the $1300 set fee. I was inclined to not go ahead but I needed to get the water back on quickly so I agreed to proceed. The plumber was very good and did the work in about an hour and then after charging me (with a small pensioner discount), left. When I re-examined the quote later, I discovered that the prices charged were for complete individual jobs even though both jobs were done at the same time. I was charged for two hours at $350 per hour for the first job (the flex hoses) and another $300 for the second job (the isolation switches). So for a job taking just over an hour, I was charged for 3 hours.

I discovered how this happened. Each job was quoted separately as if the other job did not exist and there was no separation of labour and materials on either the quote or the invoice. Both jobs were charged separately even though they were done at the same time. Most standard plumbers would charge for the time and then the parts but not this group.

I wrote and complained to the manager Isaac who after some discussion did give me an $180 credit for some of the time associated with the second job and I appreciated this offer.

So the warning to all is: beware the quote which does not separate labour and parts and the fact that you may be charged for several individual jobs even though it may be effectively one job.

On the other hand, the work was well done and the plumber also gave some advice on water pressure and general issues with the plumbing. I am also grateful that they were able to attend on the day (even though the work was done in business hours). The hourly rate was horrifically high so watch out for this as well.

No more problem with running hot baths in winter! There was with our gas which got in the way of running our hot water. We postponed book for a bit as it was during the summer, but since it started getting colder again we needed to get it fixed. Had the best time doing business with Isaac. Secured a fairly old home that's become a house flip project between my family, but the bathroom started to have terrible leaks in the old taps after a few months of this project. Now the water is going down with no problems at all and the drain has been perfectly cleared! They've done everything perfectly for the price I paid and I would recommend them 10/10.

If I could give negative stars I would. Firstly we were quoted $7,000 to fix a pipe. Then we were still having problems so after being told that this time it would resolve the problem we went ahead and got them to fix the 2nd visit issue with the pipe. issues again they told us that we would need to replace part of the pipe line in the bend of the pipe line. The guys then put the eel back down to clear the line which [Name Removed] had already done before. They ended up showing us where there was a blockage and that they needed to fix that bit of pipe. We said that Issac should have picked that up when he put the eel down himself the first time he came out. We refused to pay anymore money to them and said that $21,000 was a rediculous amount to pay in total because thats what it was going to cost us if we went ahead with anymore works. We are still have issues with our toilet gurgling and water rising again. We had Select Plumbing do the work in January 2025. We DO NOT Recommend Select Plumbing. Complete rip off.
