Over two weeks ago I wanted to re draw on my remaining $170,000 mortgage the amount only of $5,000. The purpose of this was just to finish cleaning up a house myself and my partner own at Seaford and get it ready for sale. The realestate agent gave an estimate of resale at $750,000. This place is owned freehold. I offered the credit union after… Read more

the sale of this house the balance around $500.000 to go into investment. It has now been over 2 weeks that I sent the email to them and I got an automated reply from them stating I would be contacted within 2 business day. Reading every body elses reviews it looks like I am in the same boat. I have been with the credit union since 1974 but obviously they dont give a toss about any of their customers. The house hopefully will be put on the market in the next month, I will pay the mortage off and close all my accounts. I now intend investing the money with either People Choice credit union or the National Bank. I asked in my email I sent to at least be courteous and send me a reply either way if I could have a redraw but they just didnt bother. I think it is their loss. It doesnt worry me in the slightest now, they had their chance.

Would give ZERO STARS if it was an option – So much for our LOYALTY and commitment to Police Credit Union over the last 30 odd years. My wife and I owe less than 30K on our Police Credit Union home loan. ( woo hoo !! ) We own 4 cars, a caravan outright and a trailer. We have a $2500 Credit card and no other debt. We have a fair amount of savings for the average punters. We both are… Read more

permanent employed with large multi-nationals with a combined income of $130K. Wife is permanent part time. I'm still a full time tradie. We are waiting for a substabtial transition to retirement payment from a Superannuation Fund to drop into our account, which we intend to purchase a car for my wife, and trade in her current vehicle. As we did not have cash on hand, we approached Police Credit Union for a 20K loan to buy the car, and then when the Super money drops into our account, pay off the loan immediately. Police Credit gave us so much unnecessary grief about our financial situation and documentation both my wife and I just upped and walked away from the table, shaking our heads in disbelief at the stupid hoops we had to jump through. We will be closing our Police Union accounts and going over to Defence Bank as they look after their own better.

Simply Appalling – I applied for a refinance (LVR 35%), the lack of communication is just appalling, it is seriously bad. The last straw came after two and a half months, when asked to supply payslips, bank statements etc for the third time and resign the application with a new date, as obviously having an application date 3-month-old is not a good look. After a… Read more

few weeks of inaction this was passed to a Customer Manager, who was useless. Weeks later he was still chasing up whether it had gone for assessment. We have no other loans, own everything and have $400k+ income, go figure that...

Avoid this bank at all costs...

Breached the Banking Code of Practice – Horrendous treatment of a Platinum Member applying for a home loan. Found to be blatantly lying (have this in writing) and was found to delay the loan which was in their best interest to gain extra money from the applicant. Avoid at all costs.

Stay away! They're unreliable and dishonest – I have applied for a refinance loan back on February 2. By April 9, the loan hasn't come through despite being told it's been escalated. They have asked for multiple documents over many weeks as opposed to asking all the required documents in one go. I find them dishonest, unreliable, incompetent, and recommend that you go to a broker or directly to a bank.

General – General telephone and customer service is always quick and efficient, have been with credit union since inception never had a complaint. I have S5 and S12 accounts and find interest rates comparable if not better than other financial, institutions. I also have a S1 debit visa as I don't have a regular income I find S1 debit visa better than a… Read more

credit visa, as I know where I am at. Sometimes I have too many withdrawals and find them rather expensive at one dollar per transaction?
